Got this in black and love these shoes. They still look new, and I wear them when I have to be walking for lengthy periods.

The shoes are beautiful, but they are sized small.

Zappos is the best online shoe source. Returns are easy so you can shop multiple styles withour worry. All theae Bass styles are extremely comfortable!

Love it. Many compliments. Looks more like dark heather gray than blue but that's what I wanted anyway.

I would buy these shoes over any other shoe cause their classy.

I have always loved these shoes. I was skeptical about buying this shoe because of some of the reviews about the sole separating from the shoe. So far so good no problems.

Love these shoes. Super comfy even without socks. I would recommend conditioning the leather and having a shoe tree, because the white leather creases very easily.

I have only worn these shoes a few times, they have been fairly comfortable. They are really cute. I have looked for awhile for saddle shoes so I was glad to find these.

I have been looking for a pair of saddle shoes for awhile. These are comfortable and didn’t need any break-in period. The heel portion of the shoe seems to be a very low-rise so they don’t feel as secure on your foot as I would like. There isn’t any sort of arch support either.

I wear an 8.5 Narrow, and I bought these swell retro shoes at that size. Too big and too wide!

I wore these maybe ten times and the sole has cracked completely through, letting in rain! Will have to pay to re-sole.

I'm really surprised at the 5-star reviews on these shoes. Admittedly, they are really cute, but they have several major problems for me. First, the "lace-up" look is a look only! They do not actually lace, so if you're like me and appreciate real laces for support and sizing, forget it. Second, the red rubber outsole is very inflexible. As for the sizing, I agree with those who said they run about one-half size small. If you like the look and don't need to lace the shoes, I'll grant you that they're really cute. I tried the navy saddle and tan toe and heel, and it's a cool combination.

For those who plan to buy these, just be careful. You might have to invest a little extra in having the soles repaired in the long run. Lovely shoe, but the soles are definitely cheaply made.

I’ve been looking for saddle shoes for years. These arrived yesterday. They are narrower and longer than I expected, unlike the saddles I wore forty years ago (in the sixth grade!) which had a roomier toebox. I suspect this is subject to style trends, which is OK, but I personally prefer more room in the toebox for comfort. The quality is average, but not bad. For instance, they lack grommets on the shoestring eyelets and the soles, and rather than being textured for traction, have cut-in grooves. I can live with that. Comfort is OK, and the sole has a stable feel, but they don’t have the "ahhh" feel of a superior quality shoe. They do look really cool. I’m going to keep them, but probably will try a different brand when it’s time to replace them. Meanwhile, I’m wearing these with my jeans, and maybe even a skirt.

This shoe is very comfortable and is always getting compliments from passerby’s on the street. I have bought two pairs within the past 6 months and both pairs formed a split across the width of the sole at the ball of the foot. This split happened on both pairs within the first month of wearing them. I really love this shoe, but am disappointed that both pairs have a cracked sole without wearing them for too long. Bummer.

I bought these shoes in January of 2011, and have worn them a total of 5 times at two 50s weekend events. On the 5th day, the sole on one shoe cracked. I expected much better quality from Bass. Not happy! The style and quality of the uppers is good...the sole definitely needs improvement!

I bought these shoes for a 50s weekend event last year. I wore them maybe 3 days last year, and then I just wore them again for the same event this year. I have worn them for a total of six days total. The sole on one of the shoes cracked on the 6th day. That's unacceptable for a pair of shoes at this price. Six days of wear? I expected a much higher quality product from Bass.

Great fit, good looking, however, poor manufacture. I had worn the shoes about 6 times and the soles of each bent at the ridges and caused holes, I continued to wear them until I was caught in a rain storm and water - and lots of it - leaked through the openings in each sole. Soaked my feet. Ruined my shoes. Where does Bass manufacture these shoes? Very shoddy job.

This shoe is narrow in the forefoot, even in the wide width, with very stiff leather. The heel slips. Plus the toe is much more pointy than I was expecting. I'm sending mine back.

Comfortable and I get compliments, BUT quality is an issue. Had to have them resoled after a few wears. Sole split at scored tread. Contracting leather thin and tore near laces.

Comfortable and attractive shoe, however, I had worn them only about 4 times and the sole of each shoe broke. They are still wearable, but when it rains water gets inside. Disappointing. Shoddy workmanship. Not worth the money because of this.

I bought several of these on sale at Zappos and a few other places. The uppers were cute and comfortable, but about a year and a half later the soles on each individual shoe managed to split within weeks of each other. Based on the quote I got from my local cobbler, resoling a pair would cost as much as I originally paid for the shoes themselves. Don't buy these or any other Bass shoes with this grooved red rubber sole!

I have been looking for saddle shoes for ages and finally found them. They are soooo comfortable, and I get a lot of compliments, BUT my sole split at the scored thread after only a few wearings. Bass exchanged them for me w/o question and replaced my original pair at no cost to me. Again, after only 2 or 3 wearings, the sole on my new pair split at the scored tread as well. They are now unwearable as water seeps into the bottom of the shoe when it rains. So disappointed.

The soles cracked on mine after very minimal wear. I see that happened to a few other reviewers as well -- a crack in the sole just below the ball of the foot. \r\n\r\nAlso, there are loose threads working their way out of the seams on the inside. \r\n\r\nVery poor construction. I remember Bass shoes being well-made when I was growing up. \r\n\r\nLots of compliments on these but a total disappointment.
