Unbelievably sweet. Hands down the best boot I've ever owned. When these wear out, I'm buying the same pair over and over again.

I contemplated this purchase for a long time due to cost. I am a Red Wing fan, in 15 years I have worn four pair of dress shoes daily for work. Resole them and keep on going. Two pair of casual boots still going strong. So my concern was not Red Wing, it was which style of the Heritage to get. I was looking for something that I could wear with jeans and khakis, dressed up or down, but give a manly looking shoe. I looked at many different styles. Thankfully I decided on Iron rangers. I absolutely love these boots. They give you a sense of confidence, they scream out look at me as you walk into a room. I am tempted to buy another pair to wear in place of my outside Red Wing cowboy boot style, that I work in the yard with. I want to keep one pair looking fresh and oiled. I think they look great with what ever you wear. I wore with jeans and a sports coat to church today, look great. I can't say enough about iron rangers. If in doubt, buy them. They are stiff as people have mentioned. I had to cut the edge of the tongue with scissors, on my left inside foot. The fold in the tongue landed on my ankle in a very bad way. I wore these to a conference at Caesar's Palace in Vegas the day I received them. I had to wear them 12 hours a day for four days. That was a forced break in of the boots, I had to walk miles per day. Once I got the tongue fixed no problems. I did go into a local Red Wing shoe store and try these on before I ordered to get correct fit. Same cost in store as here on line, but I had a gift card that I could only use on Zappos. My first purchase with Zappos, I must say a pleasure to do business with. Zappos top notch service.

Really beautiful, boots. Xmas gift for my husband. He's 11 or 11 1/2 in Adidas sneakers and a 12 in Dr Martins. Size 11 felt a little big but with good socks he loves them. No break in time. Walked the dogs on Xmas day in them and fell in love.

Although I did not purchase my Iron Rangers from Zappos (I have a Red Wing dealer down the street from me) I did want to provide my sizing impressions. I measured a 13½ on my left foot and just shy of 13 on my right. The 12 fit my larger foot just right and was a bit large for my right (though an insole in both could alleviate much of this). In all, I would say that these run one size big (at least for the larger sizes). My overall impressions are that these boots are a class act; I really cannot say anything negative about the styling. They are simply timeless and made with old world craftsmanship. The soles are totally flat. I wore mine out of the store into over 8" of snow and had to watch my step. That being said, these boots can easily go from office casual, to the wood shop to dinner without hassle. I just may have to buy another pair!

I usually don't wear boots and stick to my running shoes, but these are turning into my favorite pair of footwear. I considered a pair of Frye boots, but with the quick laces on the top and overall quality of construction I decided to go with Redwings. I wear size 11 in every pair of running shoes I own, but I had to order a full size down (10) for these to fit properly (I still have room for my arch supports). They feel better every time I put them on, so give them a week or two for the leather to break in. They are worth every penny of the cost! Be cautious on snow and ice as the leather bottom is slick!

Very high quality, good looking boots. The breaking in period can be tough on your feet, so bear that in mind when you first try them on. In particular some of the inner seams can really dig into your feet. The soles are terrible in ice and snow, but as long as you know when to wear them, you will love these boots.

It doesn't get much better than this. I've had these boots going on 3 years and they only get better with age. The leather is extremely thick and durable and when it gets a scratch or 2, it only adds to the character. I highly recommend getting red wing's pine boot oil to maintain these. After I wipe them down with a little oil, they look as good as new and it's been almost 3 years! There is not one sign of these falling apart. Until I bought these, I struggled to find a boot that would last and kept getting stuck with stuff made in China (most shoes you'll find in the US at the present time). These are made in the USA, and the attention to quality craftsmanship shows. They take a while to get comfortable (think months), but when they do, they feel like an extension of your body. A few months break in time is not long for something that will last longer than 5 years, in my opinion. I could see myself still wearing these in 10 years, honestly. The only complaint I have is the smooth bottom. These are not great for icy conditions.

Excellent quality leather boot, love the handsome cap toe, I got complimented on these all the time. Buy them a full size down and they'll be uncomfortable as heck when you put them on, but bear with it, they'll break in and stretch to your foot, then you'll have a perfect boot my friends, that just gets better looking with wear.

Just received these boots and, as others have mentioned, they run about 1/2 size large. I wear an 11 Kenneth Cole, 11 Converse Chuck Taylor, 13 Merrell hiking boots, 13 Skechers, and 10.5 Iron Rangers. I've got slightly wide feet - just shy of needing size W - and these boots provide more width-room in the toe box than most shoes. The leather is very attractive and looks to be of excellent quality, albeit quite stiff. The inside seams feel very uncomfortable, but I expect them to break-in nicely. I'd say these boots are just barely dressy enough to wear with a suit jacket and some nice black jeans. Lastly, and perhaps best of all, Red Wing tans their own leather and hand makes their boots in the USA.

Great boots! Going down half a size was great advice I'd pass on to anyone. Don't worry about breaking them in; they felt great from the moment I first put them on.

What has not been said about these boots already? Probably nothing, so I'll try to keep this short. I am a size 8 US in Converse shoes. As suggested before, purchase two sizes down and keep the best fit, and return the other is good advice. I purchased 7.5D and 7D.
The Red Wing size 7D has arrived first and fits snuggly. It will most likely stretch and fit nicely. I also wear thick black sport socks so I have no worries about boot dye transfer.
Also: The image Zappos represented the Red Wing Iron Ranger amber in full grain harness leather boot is accurate.

Beautifully made boots. Stitching and leather is top notch. Style is timeless, and I get many complements. I almost exclusively wear Converse All-Stars in size 10, and I went with a 9.5 boot, because I prefer generous toe room. I can get a finger behind my heel when my foot is kicked all the way forward in an unlaced boot, and I get minimum heel lift when laced up. I wear medium weight wool socks, and do not use an insole. No regrets!

Red Wing consistently makes a fantastic pair of boots. Wore these for about 4 years, every day, through work and through play, before destroying the insides. I enjoyed them tremendously, and I imagine you will too.

Great looking, tough boot. I get tons of compliments. Break in time was minimal. I use them mostly for beating around town and casual wear, not as a work boot. I have a narrow foot, size 12 in a New Balance tennis shoe. I bought an 11/D and placed a Superfeet insert. Usually when I wear these I wear a SmartWool sock, which gives me a perfect fit!

These are beautiful boots. I ordered them on Friday afternoon and they arrived on Monday morning. That is one of the reasons that I always order shoes from this website. I got them for my boyfriend for his birthday and made him try them on immediately to make sure the fit was right. He wears a size 11 in most sneakers, and 11½ in his crappy boots, so I got him a size 10½. They fit perfectly with regular socks, with enough room to wear thick boot socks. I am a big fan of Red Wings and cannot wait to see how they look as he breaks them in!

Red Wings are truly an amazing boot. Made in the USA, durable, stylish, and rugged. They are absolutely the best boot I have owned. This is my third pair of different Red Wing styles and am extremely happy with all of them, but this is,by far, my favorite. They do run big, however I ordered my normal size and use inserts. Well worth the price. Quality is second to none. Support the American worker!

After doing an incredible amount of research to find the highest quality and best-looking boot in this category, I decided upon these. The workmanship is excellent and the soles are holding up far better than those of other dressier boots I have owned. Order them slightly smaller. I usually wear 10.5. I went with 10 and couldn't be happier.

After years of waiting, I finally had the extra money to get these. Beautiful boots. And yes, ORDER A SMALLER SIZE. I usually wear 10.5 in regular shoes and even cowboy boots. The 10.5 Iron Ranger was just a bit too big/long though. The 10 feels much better...

Great boots, very stylish and durable, I ordered a full size smaller than my normal shoe size. The break in period was about one month, after which they felt very comfortable. The laces could stand to be 1-2" longer.

Great looking pair of boots. If you're looking for boots you can wear with anything these are it. They sturdy as hell, too. THEY RUN A FULL SIZE LARGER. I ordered three pairs of the same boots in different sizes to find the right one. Ultimately, a size smaller than usual worked for me.

I own another pair of the moc/toe heritage work boots and I knew that Red Wing runs about a full size large and take a long time to break in. Surprisingly these broke in nicely after a few weeks as the others a few months. The scuff easily but a little leather cleaner and mink oil keep them looking new. I love these and you will too!

These boots are great. Well worth the money. I bought both a half size and a full size down from my standard size and landed on the full size down. Love them!

Great boots! A little longer than normal Red Wings but they generally run true to size. The boots are a little uncomfortable at first due to the stiff leather and little padding but once they are broken, they are very comfortable. The boots look great and they look good with everything. Enjoy it!

Great boots! Ordered a 9.5 and they felt big, so re-ordered the 9 and they were much better. For me they ran a 1/4 to 1/2 size to big. Typical Red Wing, supportive, comfortable, and sturdy.

Probably the best footwear I've ever worn! Red wing really makes a quality boot. They run big so make sure to order at least a full size down. I'm normally a 9.5 in vans but I ordered an 8.5 for these boots. I probably could have even gone for an 8 but the 8.5 give me a good amount of toe room. Definitely worth the money!
