I feel like I tried on a COMPLETELY different boot than everyone else. I buy a lot of shoes online, most in a size 8. I'm a pretty easy fit. I wear a size 7.5 in most nike athletic shoes. 13.5 inch calf, 7.75 inch ankle area. I bought these in a size 8 and the entire ankle to shaft area of this boot was large on me and I tried them on over a legging layer. The footbed fit and felt fine but was by no means tight. Bottom line is that nothing on this boot was tight on me. When I was walking around, the boot feels like it is bagging and falling so there is a strange feeling at my ankles. When I pull the boot up it goes away and I'm just pulling it up a tiny bit...it's not like it's literally bagging. If you were looking at the boots on me the boot itself looks fine. I tried putting on a sock to try to take up some slack in the footbed and ankle. It certainly helped a lot but didn't take away the nagging feeling of a slouching boot. I looked in the mirror and the boots are adorable times a million. They are so cute!! I want to keep them! I'm contemplating buying them in a size 7 to see if the entire boot fits tighter however I'm worried the footbed itself will be just way too small. However the other reviews indicate that this boot stretches out a lot.

The only reason I wanted to write a review was because within less than three weeks of having them, one of the boots formed a huge hole in the seam. For spending so much money, it was pretty ridiculous. I returned them and they refunded me, however I wish they would have sent a new pair instead.

I ordered these for my daughter because she loved the style and wanted something a bit more authentic looking for her LARP Halloween costume. She is 13 and wears a women's 5 1/2-6M, so I ordered a 6. Her toe reached the tip of the toe box. This boot was much too small and incredibly narrow. The shaft fit just fine, but the footbed was simply not comfortable enough for wearing, not even for a minute. The sole is also very narrow, and so your feet have no solid footing on the ground. The sole literally caused us to wobble side to side. The only way she could walk in them was in an awkwardly stiff bowl legged fashion.These boots would have eventually ended up causing an ankle injury from the instability. The problem is how the sole is too narrow and runs up the center of the foot. The sole has bumpy treads that are raised, so it's like trying to do a balancing act to keep the foot flat to the ground. The strange design of the sole is the main reason we are returning them. I would rather find something of higher quality design and comfort than to exchange them. Going a size up is not going to change the poor design of the footbed.

This was almost amazing. The leather and fringe were beautiful. I was looking for a "barefoot" boot solution to winter. This has a satisfyingly flexible rubber sole but even though I sized up, I was dismayed to see an extremely narrow shoe with a shape more like a cowboy boot where they pretend you're missing your two outer toes. Very tight on my foot, and forget socks! Even though the leather would have stretched, my already duck shaped feet have an even wider toe gripping stance from preferring thongs and barefoot style shoes. I decided I'm not going backwards no matter how cute these are because, at last, my foot pain, arch and support issues are gone. I'm sad. :-( I hope Minnetonka embraces the barefoot trend and makes a more natural shaped boot. Wide-footed people would appreciate it too.

I love the style they are so cute! However, I have muscular calves and they did not zip all the way. They have a very snug fit maybe a size up would help? I wear a 9-9.5 in size and in regular leather boots I wear a medium. I wish they would have fit my calves. Going to try a 10.

I was about to buy these boots, but after looking at the picture, I would not buy these boots from your store. The fringes are a mess!
