I love Dansko shoes and have had at least 4 pairs in my life with the shoes. I was excited to try the new Scout model, but unfortunately, as much as I love Danskos, I have to return this pair. I wear a 39, inside the shoe feels just like the clog, but I have narrow ankles and it was uncomfortable near the zipper. So sorry I have to return them; they look great!

Love Danskos, but typically need a 36W to fit my 5WW feet and these only come in M - tried a 36 (too narrow) and a 37 (too long), so back they went. If you have wide feet and want a Dansko ankle boot, try their Andorra - it's a completely different look, but they run wide (a 36M fit me perfectly right out of the box), plus the upper is made from a much softer leather so no chafing where the boot hits your leg.

Nice looking short boot that supports my feet, and feels a bit like the clogs. I wish it had a little better traction on the bottom but I do love these boots for work and church.

I was wary at first. The boots were a little stiff and they dug into my shin a bit. However, they broke in easily, and if you wear them with thick socks, there is no problem. Also, the foot bed is super-comfortable and has a lot of support. Hard to go back to other shoes after wearing these. I need to get more Danskos!

I got these boots after encouragement from my sister who had them in brown. I wasn't crazy about the braided detail around the front but the comfort is unbeatable. I have thick ankles and I was worried that they wouldn't be comfortable but after the second or third wearing the leather broke in just fine. They look really good with jeans and I am thrilled I pulled the trigger on these.

Unlike my previous Dansko purchase, this boot was not cuter than it looked. In fact, I'd say it's a bit clunkier and less cute than pictured. Still nice/funky enough looking, though, and absurdly comfy. I have been wearing them every day since I got them. Minor issue: I mostly wear skinny pants--both work pants and jeans--and the ankle opening on the boots seems to be the exact same size as the ankle opening on most of my pants, resulting in a somewhat awkward fit. My pants don't quite go over and don't quite go in. I also have to agree with a previous reviewer who said they seemed a little cheap-looking/feeling. Seem to scuff easily, too. 4 stars overall though because they are a good, comfortable, utilitarian ankle boot that I don't feel too frumpy wearing.

I thought long and hard about these boots and finally ordered them. They were so tight across the top of my feet, that for 2 weeks I wore them around the house for short periods of time (until the cramps in my feet became unbearable) and then put in shoe trees to help open them up a bit. There is plenty of toe room and the size is good otherwise. Now after all that effort, they are extremely comfortable and I can wear them all day long. What I particularly like about these clogs is that I can wear garish bright socks and nobody can see them!

Fits well, fairly comfortable, but sides are stiff and can feel a little awkward on the ankles to walk in at first. I'm hoping they'll soften over time!

I love these boots. The only thing I would change is that I wish the top, around the ankle, was a bit more snug around the ankle. Other than that, they are super comfy and wear well with just about everything.

I wore a size 37 Dansko Scout, but needed a shoe that covered my whole foot for work. So I ordered the same size for this shoe (Dansko Scout) and another shoe, Dansko Professional, but both ended up too big. I ordered a size smaller which fit. The top of the boot has no Gore-Tex so long socks are a must. Otherwise, it's very comfortable and looks great under bootcut jeans.

I bought these boots less than a month ago and I already have a history with them. When I first tried them out in the office, they felt so supportive that I could feel my feet relax into them. I wore them in the office all afternoon, and based on how they felt, decided I would keep them. \r\n\r\nI walked to the bus stop and then home, and by the time I got home the area on my legs just above ankle level was badly chafed. I hoped that the leather would give as I wore them, but when I wore them the next morning, I was actually in pain.\r\n\r\nWhen I got home from work and saw two red gashes on my legs caused by the chafing of the leather, I decided these boots were not for me. I gave them to my daughter and warned her to line the inner part of the boot with something that would protect her from chafing. For myself I got a pair of La Canadienne ankle boots.\r\n\r\nThe La Canadiennes were made of a much softer leather, so there were no issues with chafing, but could not compare in foot support. I have asked my daughter to trade me the chafing Danskos for the La Canadiennes. So I have come full circle, liking the Danskos better because they are much more comfortable to walk in. I will do what I told my daughter to do, and line the inner part of the boot with moleskin to protect my legs and ankles.

Not amazing but pretty good clog alternative for winter - I agree, they are a bit like flower pots. I usually wear a Dansko Professional clog in a 39 narrow. These don't come in narrow, so they are pretty loose side to side and in the ankle. I imagine the ankle would be loose on anyone. The wide ankle with stiff leather does cut a bit. The arch support is very good, but a shade less good than the standard clog. I think it's a litle more cushioned than the clog. The base is a tiny bit narrow so not super stable but not too wobbly. With a 3/4 length thin arch support and cozy boot socks, these work well enough on my narrow feet to walk to and from work, and the look tidy enough to wear at work as well. Stitching down front makes it more formal than the clogs. In person, I thought the brown was hideous. Black is nice.

I was hoping these would work out, as Danskos are usually a great shoe for my feet.\r\nI have the Sela sandal (fits like a dream) which is in the same Sausalito collection. \r\nI found the toe box to be a bit narrow in the Scout boot. The heel is a bit wobbly- more like a regular boot heel and less like a rocker-bottom Dansko.\r\nThese boot are comfortable and attractive, they just got a "B" from me.

Good looking boots, but I was disappointed with the fit. I followed all the suggestions for finding the right size, but they were still uncomfortable. I kept hoping that they would work out, but the leather across the top is stiff and would probably relax over time, but I just do not want to risk buying another uncomfortable pair of shoes to sit in the closet. The footbed is also hard and was uncomfortable after a while. I also kept wishing that the boot was a bit taller since the top of the boot tends to cut into the front of the ankle. I have read from other reviewers that it\'s best to try on a couple of pairs of the same shoe style, but that\'s not easy to do unless you order two pairs of the same shoe or go to numerous stores and who has the time to do all that? So, sadly, they are going back.

I bought a pair of these boots 2.5 years ago. The new pair definitely runs narrower than the old pair and took quite a while to stretch out and feel comfortable. I never would have bought them the first time if they had been this narrow. However, now that the new pair has stretched out, they are quite comfortable and look nice. Same problems with the new pair as with my old pair. As other reviewers have noted, these do scuff up very easily, and the scuffs go all the way through to white leather under the black. It's very unsightly. I've had poor luck covering it up with black shoe polish, so I touch up my boots with a black Sharpie marker. The second problem is that the insole starts to peel up in the toe box and then the whole insole slips around in the boot. With my last pair, I ended up having to replace the insole with a store-bought insole. I'll have to do the same thing with this pair before long.

I really wanted to like these boots as I own Dansko clogs and they give the best arch support, but the top part of this boot was so uncomfortable, digging into my ankles. The leather needs to be softer at the ankle portion for it to be comfortable to walk in.
