Oh my god I love these. What is important about this is that I have been looking for snow boots for years. They are always so bulky and after trying to find something warm, completely waterproof, stylish and tall I failed. So finally I thought that I would try Sorels. What an amazing surprise. They are so comfortable and warm. I always add my own insoles into my shoes but the insoles that they come with seem comfortable. The thing that I cannot get over is how comfortable they are to stand in. I felt very stable. I wear an 8½ but ordered an 8 and am happy with that. I have thin feet and ankles so oftentimes I slosh around in boots. These are wide enough to slide my feet in easily but the way they tighten I can get them where they are not too bulky and loose at the top of my ankle. The color is a beautiful sage green. I have gotten great compliments on them too. I am giving them four stars because I do wish they were a little less bulky around the front toe (rubber area), but it may be impossible if they need to be waterproof.

SO bummed. I've coveted the Joan of Arctic boots for years; basically, since they first came out. I kept putting them off because I was a poor college student, and then a poor recent college grad, but my old Sorels finally gave out last year, so I caved. I was SO excited to get them!! ...only to find out they were a half size too small :( I'm a true 8.5, which is what I got, and my toes were touching the front without socks on. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to send them back and even more unfortunately, the option for black isn't there anymore. Fingers crossed they get some more in!...at least now I know! *sigh*!

I really adore these boots. They are warm, comfortable, true to size, and super cute. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the fur liner comes out EVERY TIME I take the boots off and it is driving me insane. If that didn't happen, these would 5 stars. I still recommend these boots.

I first bought these in a size 8.5. I thought they felt a little large so I purchased a size 8 to compare. The 8 was a little to small so I'm returning and keeping the 8.5. I wore these boots around Breckenridge and they did great in the cold/snow. However, they are a bit clunky and slightly heavy. For cold winters, I think they would work well.

So, I may be unwisely keeping these but I want to give them a chance. They seem about a half size small. I am a 10½ and the 11 fits well in length with a pair of SmartWool socks. They are wide but not uncomfortably so. The boot and shaft are very warm and the footbed is very cushioned, which is why I want to keep them. The suede on the shaft is very stiff and rubbing considerably on my Achilles' tendons where the suede folds while I walk. I have had a similar issue with leather boots (it may be the way I walk?) that resolves as the leather loosens up, so I am hoping that is the case with these. Also the shoe part of it is kind of ridiculously wide looking, but this is a no-joke snow boot. I am happy with how cute they are while keeping my feet dry and toasty on my ¾ mile walk to and from the train in the snowy/slushy/sub zero Chicago winter. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the suede softens up, otherwise these would be a home run out of the box.

I really like these boots, but don't love them. I really like the way they look, and they have good traction in the snow. They're not the coziest boots, and they are a little awkward to walk in. They're not as bad as some of the reviews, though. I am choosing to overlook some of the downside due to the cool look. :)

I typically wear an 8½ and ordered the same. These boots are very warm and only took two wears to loosen up. But they look huge on my feet. I double checked to make sure that I did not get the 8½W by accident but nope, just very large boots. They will work great for snow, but I cannot help but feel like I am wearing clown boots on my feet.

These are adorable but they are too big, wide so they flop around on my feet and pull on my pants. I'm always a 9 but these nines would need a thick sock. I'm sad they are going back!

I typically wear an 8.5 or 9 depending on brand & style and I had tried on a friend's size 9 from a past season or 2 and my toes were flopping around in them, so I thought to order an 8 but my gut said to first try the 8.5. To my surprise, my toes were touching the front of the 8.5's and that was with thin wool socks on. I figured the sizing must have changed from seasons past so I returned the 8.5 for a 9 and the 9 fit much better with both thin & thick wool socks on. I have only worn them around the house to get a feel for them and there was some rubbing on the back of my right shin, but I am hoping that they do soften up & break in and as mentioned in other reviews. The shale color is 2 beautiful tones of soft grey that will go with everything and I can't wait for the first snowfall to fully test them out for warmth, traction and waterproofness.

The colors on various websites were not consistent with each other so I ordered Nori (green) when I really wanted Shale (grey). I normally wear an 8 1/2 which was too big. I ordered an 8 and they fit great. They are a bit clunky to walk around in but that will just take a few wears to get used to. I wore them to a football game and my toes felt a little cold and it wasn't anywhere near below zero. I'll try wearing a warmer pair of socks next time. Overall they look great and should do just fine in the Wisconsin winters.

I wear a size 8.5, ordered a size 9 to account for thick socks. size is too big, wish I ordered an 8.5. I would return them, except the boxes already went out with the recycling.

After reading all the reviews on these boots, I was unsure what size to get as many people said to go down a size. Normally I am a 7 1/2. I ended up ordering the 7 1/2 and they were too short! My toes were right up to the top of the boot. Exchanged them for the 8 and they feel much better, although wide. I love these boots but I wish they fit better. Also, I ordered the Nori thinking it looked more brown than green online. It's green. Would have preferred brown but didn't care for the orange stipe on the brown pair.

These boots are great. BUT, the coloring of the photos is a bit off. The shaft is very green, and the lower rubber boot is navy blue. 'Shale' as a descriptive color is too vague.

I am a pretty standard size 10, medium width foot. In order to wear these boots with thinker ski-type socks, I sized up to an 11 (even the 10.5 was too small with toe touch in the front). getting ready to take these beauties to Iceland, and then for general ski slope/winter use thereafter. Very comfortable inside, and the fur trim looks great!

I'm a 7 in most shoes, and a 7.5 in sneakers. I ordered these in a 7.5 and tried them on with thicker socks, walked around the house with them for a while and they seemed fine. I've had such a problem finding good warm boots as my toes tend to go numb very quickly no matter what I wear. Since it's still Fall, haven't had a chance to really put them to the test, but I certainly hope they hold up to the hype!

Great looking boots. Comfy and fit well. For sure half size down. I'm just afraid the treads won't be able to handle snow and ice.

Cute boot. Perfect for Minnesota winters, but runs small. I usually wear a 9.5 and the 10 were too small. When I went to reorder the 10.5 they were all gone. Next year for sure.

These are great and very heavy duty. They are serious inclement weather boots though, so they are stiff and the shaft doesn't have a lot of give. If you want/need to trudge through wet weather, these will do the trick.

Great for a fashionable commuter faced with really bad winter weather, but not the absolute warmest or most comfortable if you need to be outside in them for hours on end. I will always turn to the far superior warmth and comfort of my less attractive Arctic Sport, Muck Boot Co. boots if I'm going to be outside for hours. Very well made. True to size before thick socks, with extra slip in the heel. I'm so happy they carried my 10.5 size! My wide feet fit fine in the normal width. Easy on and off with the laces. I have always had a hard time finding tall boots to fit my calf muscles, but these fit fine. Wider calf women should note that the fur will make your calves look much bigger, especially if you are short. I would not recommend neatly folding up boot cut jeans into these. You will probably want to wear these with skinny jeans or leggings. The extra pant leg tucked in your boot gets really bulky and uncomfortable when you lace up the boot. All around a great boot that is a perfect happy median between fashion and function.

Warm and waterproof. I needed something warm for watching soccer and lacrosse games. These definitely fit the bill. Almost too warm if you're going to be inside a lot! Will be great for apr s ski too. I did give them a 4 star because one of the snaps broke the first time I wore them as this color (gray) is no longer available on Zappos, I guess I'll just live with it. The real problem is that they're so cute my daughters keep stealing them!

I really wanted these boots last year, but couldn't find them in stock. I was so excited to see them and bought them right away. Believe other reviewers when they say they run big. I mostly wear a size 10, but do get a 9.5 sometimes so I got these in 9.5 and they are too big. The back of the rubbed against my heal higher up by my achilles and really bothered me after just 30-45 minutes. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem if I got them smaller but I was scared to because I never wear a size 9. I've only worn them once and I'm hoping they get better the more I wear them.

I wore these all winter and really liked them...they felt big and wide but I just wore thick socks. The laces are very easy to work with...they almost seem stretchy which I like. The white does get marked up buts I anticipated that. I will buy another darker pair next year but a size smaller. Zappos has the best selection of Sorels online. They were sold out everywhere this winter so I suggest getting them at the end of the summer.

These are good looking, stylish boots but size up at least a half size for fit. I ended up taking out the liner and wearing them with woolly socks so they're more like a fancy, cuter wellington boots. Just would have liked the liner to work with the fur around the top.

Loved these boots, esp. the fur trim, and had trouble deciding whether to keep these or the Cate Tofinos I also received as a Christmas gift. The Joan of Arctics felt a bit heavier and also were wider, and so I opted for the sleeker Tofinos.

Overall, these boots are fantastic. The size is good, and they are comfortable. There's a bend in the shaft at my Achilles which I noticed from time to time, but no real bother. I bought a pair of arch inserts for my own medical issues and now they're perfect. After the recent snow storm in New York City, I shoveled snow on the concrete and my feet were toasty warm. And I was just wearing a pair of thin socks! Highly recommended.
