Love these boots! Great with jeans or a slip dress. Very comfortable and true to size. As usual, Frye does not disappoint!

I have been looking at these boots for months and finally broke down and ordered them on Monday night. Believe it or not, they were on my feet by 5 pm Tuesday (no one beats Zappos service!). I am so glad that I finally gave in and ordered them. This is a lot of money for a pair of shoes for me, but these are worth every penny. I can see myself still wearing these in 30 years. They are truly beautiful. Despite other reviews, I have no issues or problems with the zipper and since I have a high instep, I actually need the zipper in order to get the boots on and off. As with most Frye boots, they do seem to run big. I normally wear an 8 1/2, but took the advice of other posters and ordered an 8. They fit as though they were crafted for my feet. A+

I previously wrote a review on these boots. I wore them for the first time yesterday and I have to say they are the most comfortable pair of Frye boots that I currently have. I did have to down size a 1/2 size but other than that, the fit is great.

I have been watching these boots and finally decided to take the plunge and buy them. I ALWAYS wear a size 11, in Fryes and all other shoes, but for whatever reason, the size 10 in this boot fits. \r\nThese boots were comfortable right out of the box with no break in period. I am justifying the price in my mind by figuring I will be able to wear them forever vs. buying cheap shoes and only having them for a season or 2. Besides, I don\'t really need to budget for groceries, right?\r\nSome boots look like Frankenstein boots on my very large feet but these seem to make my feet look small. I have not yet had trouble with the zippers but do wonder why they were made with zippers. The color is unique, the studded detail is amazing. I feel like a rocker chick in these and am so happy!

I also finally broke down to spend the money, but do not regret it. I wear a 9 1/2, but they were way too big. The size 9 fits a lot better, but still roomy and comfy. I am suprised how comfortable they are, can\'t wait for the leather bottoms to get roughed up a bit, so they are not as slippery anymore. Great looking boot...Can\'t go wrong with Frye boots

Great, stylish ankle boot. The studding is well done, and the boots are a perfectly distressed color that works well with anything. I needed to break mine in a little, as my feet are a little wide.

Love these. Bought the 1/2 size smaller than my regular size (thanks to others who gave feedback) and they are perfect. I've worn them every day since they arrived. I walk miles around NYC and not one rub or blister. Pure comfort and so cool. The bonus is they go with everything.

These are my favorite boots this season. I tend to buy a pair of Frye boots each year and these are by far the most expensive, but worth every penny. Like others have said the color goes with everything and the studding adds a bit of understated bling. I also love the crackled leather finish. They are very comfortable, but not the softest on the inside so I add an insole or slightly thicker socks and then they are just perfect. I recommend that you have a shoemaker put a rubber sole on the leather bottom to prevent slipping if you live in a place that rains a fair bit like London.

I've been looking at this boot and researching them for months. I've been looking for the perfect cowboy boot for almost 4 years now! These are fabulous and oh so comfortable. I bought my usual size and they are roomy but great! I need the zipper because I have a super high instep. I tried on another Frye shortie boot without a zipper and couldn't even get it on, so if you have a high instep, you will appreciate the zipper. The zipper does seem to have a tough spot about 3/4" up from the bottom as noted by another reviewer. It's hard to zip them both up and down. I'm not sure why. Either way I can't wait to start wearing them all day. If the zipper is a problem, I know that Zappos will stand behind them. They have the best customer service ever and shipping is so quick!

These boots are worth the price. The color is absolutely amazing; there is gray, brown, and a touch of chalky black. They go with everything. I put them on right out of the box and wore them out on errands. They formed to my foot and made me feel incredible. I normally don't wear shoes and boots with leather bottoms because of hardness, but these were fine. I hope to line dance in them tonight.

Super boots! Really unique! Pluses: love the sparkle, not too much but just enough to give this boot some style. Finish is pretty. Negatives: The zipper! I have no idea why they even put a zipper in, and the zipper is not top quality either. I am struggling to make it work both directions, and this should not be, for a pair of boots at this price! But I love the boots so much I am going to chance keeping them and hope the zipper lasts. These are really wide enough to slip the foot into by using finger holds, wish it had two instead of one, so again the zipper was not a good idea. Size: Funny I ordered a size down as the reviews suggested I am normally an 8 1/2 and ordered an 8 but found it just to fit, so I then exchanged these for the 8 1/2 and I am more pleased with the fit. I do not find the length to be too long as others have said; I found that the fit is slightly roomy, but actually not too large. I tried these on with a normal sock and they fit fine, so this one's a keeper! So different! Love these! Worth buying for sure. I tried holding out as long as I could, but these were "calling my name" and now I am glad I did not pass these by! But Frye, please make these without a zipper next time! Would also like a slightly higher shaft height like 8 1/2" maybe? Just a thought (but this height is fine too). I would give these 100 star rating if I could!

Love them!
Yes, they're expensive but oh so unique. I always wear a size 9, but listened to the reviews before me and ordered a half size down and the fit is excellent. Comfortable enough to wear even without socks. Perfect with a rolled up boyfriend Jean, or an ankle pant so that the studding shows a bit.

I\'ve been looking at these boots for a while but couldn\'t justify the price. I finally broke down and bought them for myself as a birthday present. The boots are fabulous. The distressed leather has a crackled appearance and the metal studs make the boots special without being too blingy. The color is not quite grey or tan so the boots will go with almost any color. I wear a sz 9.5. The boots are a little large but I think the 9 may be too small. An insert in the boots keeps my feet from sliding around. Well worth the price.

These boots are absolutely wonderful! I love Frye boots and I think these are the most comfortable and stylish ones that I have. I did get a 1/2 size smaller than what I normally wear and they fit perfectly. I just wish there was a little more support in the bottom of the boot. All in all, they are going to look great with jeans.

Super cute, but they were too large for me. I usually wear a 8.5 in Fryes, and that allows them to be a bit large so I can put in my own insoles. These were huge (seemed my toe was over an inch from the end). I have a 8.5 in the engineer and harness boots. The studs are really cute, understated bling. The distressing on the leather looks a little odd on a brand new boot without any creases in it, but I'm sure the boots'll look great when they're actually worn. I'm not sure why the boot has a zipper. Maybe for people with high insteps, but it seems like it's just one thing to break. Having said all this, I'm reordering in a 1/2 size smaller and will see!

These boots are the best boot/shoe/sneaker/clog I have ever owned. They are soft and require no breaking in. They look just as well with black as they do with brown and are worth the price. I would recommend buying immediately because I got the last size 9 on the same day they were put on the site. Thank you Zappos for carrying such a unique style and quality. They run true to size. Your customer service is the best!

Unlike other Frye Boots this boot ran a full size larger. Unfortunately I discarded the box before trying on.

I ordered these in wine and it is such a nice chocolate burgundy color. My regular shoe size is 9.5 so i tried these in a 9 and an 8.5. My heels slipped a lot in the 9 even with my thickest socks. The 8.5 still have plenty of length but the heel doesn't slip and they feel like they will conform to my feel better since the leather will stretch. I am still not sure if these are worth the price though and the zipper is an issue. It sticks badly but some WD-40 should correct this. I'll have to think about this one.

I like my boots for their uniqueness and the fact that they are distressed looking. However, the arch support is not very good and I have to wear inserts with them. I got my regular size, 8 1/2 which was a little big, but that turned out to be a good thing because of the inserts. The studs are way cute, done in good taste. I was having a weak moment when I bought these, way out of my price range and not convinced that I would do it again.

I agree with the other reviewers. I typically wear an 8.5, but I had to order an 8 in these boots. The heel still slips, but I need to break them in a bit. (This is why I have given it 4 stars. The aesthetic appeal is 5.) This was more money than I intended to spend on a pair of boots this fall, but the detailing and quality is worth the money. I'll wear these for years, and know the leather will only look better over time. Cute with skirts and dresses, and you can also tuck into skinny jeans.

When I saw these boots, I had to have them. I had to have them sent to my mother in California, who sent them to me in France. I love the color. They are not so much distressed, as crackled, and the studs are great. I think they will go with just about everything except a formal dress. Another reviewer didn't like the zippers (one of them does catch a bit), but I find them quite handy to put insoles in the shoes. My feet are quite skinny, so I have to take up some of the room with insoles. I wish that the boots had some padding on the bottom, but I add my own. I usually wear a size 9 or 9 1/2, but in Fryes I wear an 8 1/2.

Seems like I am the only user who thinks these boots are not comfortable, but here is my honest impression anyway. I have been searching for a pair of boots with the right balance of cowboy and girly chic, and finally found them at Frye. I had such high hopes after reading all the positive reviews, so imagine my disappointment when I finally received my pair. The look, awesome! But comfort? Quality? The leather is so STIFF it's like walking in a metal box, so where ever your foot naturally bends, the leather jabbs at you. My poor ankles are still recovering and it's been a whole week since I wore them. There is no lining except inside the shaft and cushion is minimum, which means your feet get very cold and your sock gets dusty. And Frye made a big mistake applying the distressed look AFTER building the boot -- I think they should apologize to YKK because the zipper is totally unworkable now. Despite all the above, however, I am going to keep my pair because there is nothing like their aesthetic appeal. I have been spraying Woly leather softener a few times a day every day and they are getting better.

I love them, but these boots are gorgeous, trendy, chic, etc. They have a serious issue with the zipper. I'm sorry I ignored the readers comments because I loved them but returned them. Is Frye reading this? I had trouble sliding the zipper up/down even to try them on, and for the price, they better be flawless. Zappos, as usual, was fabulous.

I don't understand how these boots can get so many enthusiastic reviews. I thought they were of very poor quality. I ordered them in "grey leather," which is really a weathered brown. That was the just the first disappointment. The leather is not attractively aged, and is crinkled in places that would not age that way. The edge of the perforated leather on the shaft is torn in places where it is sewn to the zipper. Some of the studs are corroded (green corrosion). Overall, these boots look as if they've had a good gong over with sandpaper, and they would have long since gone into the Goodwill box if they were mine. They are on their way back to Zappos.
