First and foremost I bought this boot to work in, not as a trendy casual boot, though I do wear it out occasionally. I sized down a half size smaller than I usually wear though I should have gone a full size. To remedy the size issue I put in some "orange" superfeet insoles which give them a perfect fit. Overall, a high quality American made product.

Very high quality material, not super comfortable. They definitely look good and are made heavy duty; these are made for hauling logs across a dry riverbed or something. They are larger than actually size (size down 1 size) and narrower than average...go wider.

All I have to say about these boots are wow... I bought these through J. Crew, only slightly different, black Red Wing labeled eyelets (I think look nicer than the brass ones), and comes with leather shoe strings in addition to rugged ones. This is my first pair of Red Wing boots, owned a number of cheap boots over the years. These by far are better than any boot I have ever owned in every way. Considered a pair of Russell Moccasin's, but decided on these instead, (glad I did, saved $450). The moccasin like design of these boots can't be beat, I have only owned them three days now, and I'm amazed at how quickly they are breaking in and how comfortable they have become. Had a few spots where they rubbed slightly the first day, second day this was largely gone, on the third day they feel all around great and the leather is super soft! They do run narrow though, and I have fairly wide feet, (they are only available in one width from J. Crew as well as Amazon), but the leather formed perfectly to my feet. I believe most people recommend going down 1/2 size on Red Wing's, but I bought these in my normal size and have only worn thin dress socks, so the boots form to my feet. Glad I did as they fit about perfectly, and will be quite snug with a thick sock. I have found them to offer great support, much better than I expected, definitely don't need inserts. The boot is beautiful, well constructed, nice color, and if properly maintained, (I plan to use Picard boot oil) I see no reason for these to not last me decades, (with resoling a course). Couldn't be happier with this purchase, great for the price.

Very nice boot! I read the reviews here and other websites and took their advice on going a half size down. I'm glad I did because I still have room left. They are definitely narrow so it will take some time to get used to them. Overall a good quality boot that will last a while.

Best boot ever...I love Red Wing. I collect boots and I'm in love with Red Wing leather. Top quality all the way. The leather is like butter and even smells great. 5 stars.

Great shoe - a little narrower than I expected so they "look" a little funny with my build, but otherwise great shoe - excellent quality and feel.

Made in the US -- super important to me. Excellent quality. The leather looks great, feels great and smells great. It is a tough boot. It does break in a bit. The comfort varies. If I wear a thick sock it's good. If my sock is too thin, things can get uncomfortable quickly. You can always buy insoles too. They look great with jeans. I bought these to wear with normal clothes. I work at a gym & tire of wearing sneakers + pajamas all week. You won't regret buying these.

After reading several of the reviews posted about these shoes, I finally decided to order the size I normally wear. I am glad to say that I am happy with the fit these shoes have for me. I do not find them to be terribly larger the way others have described. This be in part to the fact they while they are stylish, they are cut with a work boot mentality. As a result, simply wearing a slightly thicker sock could solve the issue. One comment I do have pertains to the width. Red Wing has manufactured the shoe in a narrow cut. However, the extended width option is a EE. Therefore, in this case, you might be better off ordering a slightly larger size if you feel you may need to compensate for the lack of width in the shoe s design. Overall, I am very glad I finally broke down, paid the cost, and ordered these shoes. Enjoy!

Great boot! Replaced a pair of 100 year anniversary Red Wings that I had resoled 3 times. Leather finally wore out on those. These are nearly identical and with a pair of green Superfeet inserts, these boots feel like a soft leather glove. I like this style because of the boxlike toebox which gives plenty of toe room and for a leather boot, it's not hot and sweaty event in the heat and humidity. Comfortable for all day work. Thanks Zappos! for bringing this boot in stock!

Purchased size 10 EE. My normal shoe size is 10 1/2. This 10 is a generous fit, which allows for the use of added insoles (I use Superfeet Carbon)and a substantial sock (Wigwam Merino Light Hiker). Without the insole, the arch support is too flat for my foot. And without the insole and a thinner sock, they would be loose. I rated 4 stars because of the high price for an unlined boot. That said, the construction is first class, as is the leather quality. True Goodyear welted build. Be prepared for a boot with some weight and a rigid Vibram sole. Break in is what you would expect for a boot of this type (stiff at first but not intrusive). This is rather unique model, the only Red Wing Heritage with a full Vibram lug sole that is available in wide widths. I wish Red Wing made this model in other colors! Overall, I find them to be quite comfortable (with the insole) and am definitely satisfied with the purchase.

Bought these for my boyfriend who splits his time between construction sites and offices and he LOVES them! He wears them all of the time and gets compliments every single time he wears them. You can dress them up or down.

These are the best shoes that I have ever owned. The break in period is quite extensive (almost four weeks for me with every day wear) but well worth it. I have pretty wide feet, but I ordered the regular width and they do stretch out to be a perfect fit. The insole will break in over time to conform to your foot and provide you with and amazing fit. The leather is very stiff at first, but will conform to your foot. I used Sno-Seal for added protection and it was perfect for the Chicago winter months. They are not insulated, so you may need thicker socks during the winter months, but I found them to be perfect. Zappos is the best company to deal with regarding ordering and returning. I cannot recommend these shoes and Zappos highly enough.

At first these boots are really hard and hurt my feet but I bought fit socks and smart wool in the thickest versions I could find. After I wore the thick socks with the boots for about three weeks they started to mold to my feet and now they feel more comfortable. But those three weeks were really hard on my feet. I wear 11 in Adidas and got 10.5 in these and with thick wool socks they fit great.

I just got these boots and love them. They fit long and narrow. I had to get 1 full size smaller and the wide size. I have wide feet and the wide size is just barely wide enough. What I love about them is how versatile they are. I can wear them to stack wood, or a night out on the town. I got them primarily as something to wear in the winter that looks decent. Just put the mink oil on them for weather proofing. I am looking forward to wearing these for a long time.

Love these boots! My favorite style of boot-moc-toe with a real Vibram lug sole. Fit is good-glad I didn't go down one-half size like some recommend, as I like to wear a medium weight hiking sock with them. Width is just right, even for my c-width feet. I did put a more comfortable insole in them. I also have this boot in black(from another online seller.)

I love my rough necks. Not my first pair, so I already knew to work the leather real good with some mink oil. Particularly the back part of the boot. With a little work there's not much break in needed. I've had them for a week now wearing them everyday they already feel really good.

These boots are very high quality. I use them for hiking/walking. I normally wear an 11.5M in sneakers, an 11.0M in boots (USA made/Import). I ordered the 10.5M. They are a bit tight, but they will stretch out over time and fit perfectly. I suspect they will last a good 5 years.

I've always wanted a pair of Wings and finally bit the bullet and picked a pair of these bad-boys up! So glad I did! Yes, RW's are pricey compared to other boots that are imported from overseas, but you certainly get what you pay for. The leather is stiff, but within a week of regular use, they started to soften up and with a little conditioning oil the leather gets extra supple. The do run about a whole size large though so be aware of that when ordering. I'm normally an 11.5 and ordered a 10.5 and could still have gone down to a 10 and been very comfortable. I love Zappos for this reason...there are not many places that carry the Heritage line of Wings so I felt confident in ordering with them given their fantastic shipping and return policy which is why they are always my first "go-to" stop when shopping for footwear.

After reading many reviews, we returned the Timberlands we'd bought (too trendy right now) and ordered these instead. Not disappointed. We also ordered the Red Wing Boot conditioner and treated them before wearing. The leather is buttery soft but doesn't scuff easily. We ordered an 11 W (EE) which is what he normally wears. They fit perfectly so are true to size. The Red Wing reputation can't be beat. My son says he plans on having these, "for the rest of my life."

Great looking boot. First season with them, so can't speak to the quality or longevity of them. I had to order a half size down to get a proper fit. The half size down still allows room for thick wool socks.

These are great boots - after a couple of weeks, at least. I think they will need a little breaking in but the leather is already pretty soft. Wearing them as everyday shoes and on the motorcycle and they are great for both. I love how they look, too.

My husband has worn Red Wing boots since his teenage years. He used to purchase them from the Red Wing stores, but then had to wait for them to order them because he wears size 8 & they never have them in stock. He loves that I introduced him to Zappos & he gets them the next day. The quality is superb. He loves these except he must use a shoe horn to get his foot into the narrow opening with the design of the tongue. That is his only issue with this style of Red Wing.

Beautiful shoe with an aggressive sole and water resistance. Definitely runs a half to a full size larger. I went a half size down which was perfect. They will be a little snug widthwise at first. My little toe had slightly less wiggle room than what I am accustomed to, but after breaking in they fit just right.

Having owned and abused many pairs of boots this pair of Red Wings are by far one of my favorites. They look great and after a couple weeks to break in (yep, it took this long) they have comfortably conformed to my feet. I am looking forward to years of use...
