So bummed! I was really hoping these would work, but... the pros: very light weight and super soft leather, great toe shape but not too narrow or pointy for my wide feet. Cons: the way they slouch almost looks cheap - the piece of leather that attaches the foot to the shaft sticks out very awkwardly; they don’t really stand up straight as shown in the picture. Hard to describe, but overall there’s just something not right about them and for the money - they should be pretty close to perfect.

Really wanted a casual, semi-slouchy black boot that wasn't too cowboy or too equestrian. This looked great and may work for some. For me, it was not tall enough (I'm 5'7") and the leather was just too soft. It is really thin, like an unlined leather glove. Sounds great, and the boot is comfy, but it slouches so much that the boot just looks too short on me. Also, the toe is a little out-of-date: neither pointy nor rounded. Don't order this boot if you have large calves, especially if you plan on tucking your jeans into them. My calves are on the thin side, and they were just right on me. The search continues!

Wanted to love these, but will have to send them back. The foot of the shoe is beautifully crafted, but I found the shaft to be a bit flimsy feeling and it gapped oddly around the ankle, where it transitions to the slouchier leather. Looked great out of the box, but when I put them on, the shaft clung to my leg and pulled away from the rest of the boot. I'm a big fan of Frye's boots, so I may try this model in the pull-on, non-slouch version. Just didn't fit right for me. [Side note: Zappos' customer service is amazing, the wrong boot was originally sent but their phone service was impeccable, incredibly friendly, efficient, and gave a coupon in compensation for my trouble. They're my go-to online shoe store!]

Frye today is not the Frye of yesterday. I finally settled on another pair of Fryes, but it took me 6 pairs to find one that was okay. This is definitely not it. I wanted to love these boots because the leather is so soft, but it is so soft that the shaft of the boot falls down, leaving the boot part sticking up making some weird point. Definitely do not recommend unless your calf is large enough to hold these things up. Pretty, but not when worn.

Shame on you Frye! If anyone has ever owned a pair of Frye boots, you know the saying "What you pay for is what you get." Frye thrives on its mission :"The Frye brand remains true to its heritage and vintage American roots with finely crafted, fashionable boots, shoes and leather goods featuring rich leathers and quality hardware." With this boot not so much. The base of the boot is old Frye craftsmanship but the leather upper in anything but the sort. I guess that is what happens when you outsource. if i were to pay the asking price on these boots and this item came to me in the mail I would be greatly disappointed. I just want everyone who is thinking of this boot to be aware of what they are purchasing.

If you have large calves and like these because they say they are "stretch" with no zipper, DO NOT BUY THESE. They do not pull up and are not stretchy. The top of the shaft is tight, not boots you can pull up past your calf. If you want a slouch boot to your calf then these are the boots for you. Don't be deceived by the picture. They are not knee boots.

Just like someone else mentioned, after 5 times of wearing, they slouch enormously! And the piece of leather that attaches the foot to the shaft sticks out very awkwardly. They never again stand up as shown in the picture. The leather is matte rather than shiny and so soft that the entire shaft is on the ground! Every time I pull them on I worry my nails will stick through the boot. Now I am wearing mine with rubber bands over them, to keep them halfway up! On top of this, very soon the tip of the sole started peeling away from the boot and I had to glue them repeatedly for no result. Imagine this when it's raining and the tip of your boot is like a fish's open mouth enjoying the puddles. This series is a failure IMHO and for the money, not worth it.

I just bought another pair of Frye's and the Campus and had to get a 5.5 with plenty of room (I'm normally a 6). So I thought these would also run large as some reviews stated, but these fit way tighter and I had to return them because they were a true size 5.5. So be warned that they are different from the other Frye cuts.

These boots are beautiful, soft, and fit like a glove. Mine do not slouch yet, but I think with more wear they will soften and slouch a bit. Only two complaints: wish they were made in the USA like other Frye boots & the soles are leather and will probably have to be resoled during the life of the boot. I ordered a 7 even though I usually wear a size 6 1/2 (I have wide feet).

These are really great looking boots but I would recommend buying them a little big and putting some cushioning insoles in them. Fit varies hugely with a change of socks. I needed to have mine both stretched at the instep as they seemed narrow no matter if I purchased several sizes larger. Boots are great looking and fantastic leather. These are not cheap boots nor do they look it. They are very high quality and I would wear them to bed if I could.

I have a narrow foot and leg, but most B width boots fit me. These were wide in the heel and all the way up. The workmanship was exquisite.

The leather is like butter! The black is softer than the camel color! They felt like different boots. The black ones slouch better than the camel ones.

These boots are beautiful. You can see and feel the quality of the leather when you open the box. They are soft, but don't slouch too much. I had to order 1/2 size larger than I normally wear.

Gorgeous! And oh so comfy too! Beautiful caramel color. I read in another review that the boots don't stay up...not true for me. True to size.

These are the sexist boots that I own. My colleagues loved the boots on me. They asked where I brought the boots of course "Zappos". My Cindy slouch boots are comfortable, look great with skinny or legging jeans, and admired by all.

Love these boots. I was looking for something dressy but flat, and versatile. I have a pair of Frye Campus boots, which I love, but they just aren't right with a lot of skirts/dresses. These are perfect. Standing up, slouching, you name it -- they do it. Couldn't be happier!

I love these boots, super comfortable. After doing ballet for 12 years, my feet are a bit missed shaped and difficult to fit, with all my bunions, but these work just fine. And they are cute!

I don't write many reviews, but I am very pleased with these boots! Fit perfect to my usual size although my foot is narrow. A wider foot could need a half size larger. They are plain but classy. I looked a couple of months for a boot. Saw this one in a department store, but common sizes sold out! Thankfully found through Zappos. Ordered black and tan. Tan/brown is an awesome color.

These boots are perfect. They are perfect for the new slouch look over skinny jeans or worn pulled up under slacks or skirts. For over jeans, just scrunch them down; the leather is buttery soft and beautiful. The toe is a little pointy, a la cowboy boot style, but very comfortable and classic. These will not go out of style and are truly beautiful boots. I have long narrow feet and these run true to size (no need to size up or down), comfy for my narrow feet with light socks, and have more arch support than I expected. I have thin legs so I do not agree with the comments about needing to have "full" calves for these to fit; I don't and they fit beautifully. Just pull them on and go. They don't make so much of a statement that you look like you're trying too hard; they are simple and beautiful.

These Frye boots are absolutely beautiful and will go well with nice wool skirts and anything from slacks to jeans. They are softer and dressier than the standard Frye boot (which I have in blue and the banana type color) and the top is not as rigid. If you are looking for a great boot for the holidays or anything that is a bit dressier that the regular Frye boots (which are also great), I would highly recommend these boots. They are pricey, buy Frye boots last forever if you take care of them. I felt that these boots run true to size and and extremely happy with them.

I bought these in a 5.5, as I have found that Frye's in a 6 (my usual size) are too big. The 5.5 are very snug -- I will not be able to wear thick socks with them. However, they do fit well with thin socks. I didn't have any problems getting these on or off. The toe box is narrow & is slightly too tight on my right foot (probably because of a small bunion I have) so I will probably try to have the right one stretched. The red color is gorgeous & I've tried them on with skinny jeans, boot cut jeans & skirts -- these boots look great with everything. The almond toe gives these more of a "roper" look, but they are not too cowboyish. I would say that you really do need to try them on & maybe in a couple of different sizes before knowing if they will work for you.

I have these boots in black and they are stunning. But I cannot get them comfy no matter what I do. The footbed is not cushioned and the shoes don't fit with an add-on footbed or orthotic. I love them but I only put them on if I am not walking much or need to keep my feet warm. The style is beautiful and if they fit as good as they look I would have bought all three colors, but now I'm glad I didn't. But they do look fab. So if you have sturdy feet, try these smooth and lusciously soft boots!

These are high quality boots; soft leather, sturdy footbed, easy to get on. I have narrow calves, so the shaft of the boot is loose on my leg, but that allows for scrunching them down, or tucking them into pants. Very comfortable, I usually wear a size 6, but the 5 and 1/2 fit me better in this boot.

First, I received these boots within 24 hours although I asked for regular shipping, so that was an unexpected pleasure. These boots were comfortable by the third wearing and feel great. They have a wide calf area so they do slouch, like the name says they should, but not bad if you have a wider calf too. I don't think they are totally glam, but I think I will wear them a lot because they are so comfortable and go with everything. I was reminded just how great it is to get things at Zappos when I got them. I had ordered them somewhere else and wasn't going to receive them until late November, Zappos gave them to me in 24 hours.
