Overall, these are the best boots I've ever bought. Fit is great. They look sharp, even after stomping through snowy streets. The cold does not seep in. They are solidly constructed. My two (small) issues are: 1. They are heavy. I'm exhausted after walking in them after a couple of hours. 2. If your legs aren't completely shielded by something (socks, pants, tights), the inner tabs will cut your skin open. I have 2 scars on my legs now because of this. Overall: Buy them. They're worth every penny. Just make sure your legs are protected.

I received the 14G less than 48 hours after ordering. Zappos is remarkable! The Campus boot is simple and classically beautiful. Even though I am not tall I was worried that the shaft would be too short, it is perfect, a few inches below my knees. My calfs are average, I was able to wear the boots right out of the box over skinny jeans without a problem. As many reviewers have notated, it is probably best to order your smaller size or half a size down, I have found this to be true with all Frye shoes. Boot leather is very thick, I think these will take a while to break in. The lug sole is very stiff, but incredibly practical in a wintry city and should soften up over time. The day they came in I put them on and walked a couple of miles, no blisters or sore spots. I have many pairs of Frye shoes and boots for beauty and comfort Frye cannot be beat.

Love these boots. However, I did have to go one half size up. Other than that Frye boots are awesome. Will definitely get another pair once I have the money!

Best boots for fall/winter ever. Go with everything, look super cool, and are just the best quality. I have mine for 4 years now, and they still look great. My most frequently worn pair. Buy boot trees to store them, and they will keep their shape nicely. They are great in rain, sleet and snow, if you still want to look cool and go places. I wear other snow boots for sledding, obviously, but these are great for all adult winter day to day activities. They are comfortable right out of the box.

Love these boots - super cute. Heel smaller than what I am used to but with some gel lift inserts got my extra inch and a half! Shaft width perfect. (If you are a 15" circumference, may need to stretch the calf.) Pairs well with shorts, skirts, jeans, work or casual. What I like best about these boots is that they don't look like the typical Frye cowboy boot. Bottom line - Frye doesn't disappoint and neither does Zappos with their awesome return policy and helpful associates to ensure you get the right shoe!

I bought these for my wife. They were true to size. I bought her the leather sole campus boot a few years ago, and she complained about the soles getting wet in the snow. So when I saw the 14G on sale, with the lug soles, I had to get them. Now her feet stay dry and warm and she loves them.

Bought these before I traveled to England because I wanted to have durable, comfortable, yet fashionable boot while touring. These boots were comfortable from the first wearing. Easy to get on and off. The grain in the leather was not an exact match (Zappos sent me a second pair which were a better match). I am very happy with the purchase.

Outstanding pair of boots! The construction, and quality of leather is second to none. Stop wasting your time and money on cheap boots. Treat yourself to a pair of these jewels.

My favorite Frye boots... a bit more feminine than the harness or engineer, just as bombproof but even more practical because of the lug sole...wish all Fryes' were available with that lug sole option.

These boots are incredibly well made, and more comfortable, in my opinion, than the 14L.

What a beautifully crafted boot, I've been searching methodically for a tall black leather boot with lug soles for our icy streets in Anchorage. I thought I found them in these boots, unfortunately they just weren't quite tall enough. The sizing was a concern as my feet run wide, but they weren't a bad fit. If I had kept them, I'm sure they would have stretched out fine. As my Frye Engineer boots did. The calf circumference was perfect, and I have athletic calves. Perhaps in the future when my perfect boot is found, I may have to revisit this pair again.

I have looked at literally thousands of pairs of boots and finally decided on these. I was so looking forward to wearing them but they did not go past my calf. Ladies, if you have large calves these are not for you. The boots are beautiful and very well made but my calves are just to big(16 inches). I so wish they fit but they had to go back.

I love these boots. They were a little snug right out of the box. I usually wear a 6 and a half to a size 6. After reading the other reviews I got a 6. After wearing them around the house and most of the next day they are fitting much better, not as snug in the foot width. I would have a pair in every color. The go with everything. Great with a dress and tights or jeans. Feel great walking in them and with me being 5'0, the extra heel is wonderful. Looking forward to ordering my next pair of Frye boots, very high quality you can see and feel. They are worth the price tag.

These are perfect boots. I got half a size larger and put in athletic insoles. That was Heaven! I have walked around Chicago, London, and Edinburgh. They have never let me down. My left calf is ½" larger (I drive a car with a clutch). My cobbler was able to make the left boot calf fit with no problem. These are worth every penny.

Love these boots! I had a pair of Frye boots way back in my early twenties and loved them. These are just as wonderful as they were then. Excellent quality and very comfortable and stylish. These are great casual boots that look good both under boot cut or straight leg jeans, or with skinny jeans tucked in. Can't say enough good things about the quality of Frye products. These do run about a half size large. I usually wear a 9.5, even with my arch support inserts I took a 9 in these.

I love these boots. I received these boots 3 weeks ago, and have already worn them 5 or 6 times. I have several pairs of campus boots from Frye, and I know they run large. I went a half size down, and they fit perfectly. They were comfortable from the start. I bought these to be very casual jean boots, but they look great with dressier outfits as well. I have worn them far more often than I expected to. I am very glad I bought them and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite pairs of boots.

These are beautiful. The leather is rich and thick, yet easy to put on. I have high instep and usually wear a size 7.5. I ended up returning the 7.5 for a 7 with the help of Zappos Customer Service. Perfect fit, perfect boots. I ended up ordering an additional pair since they are so comfortable.

Lovely boots. They look lush and smell of supple rich leather. Sturdy enought for outback trails and girly enought to accompany a skirt. The size is a little long which worked out well for me as I'm a 11.5 now.

I could go on and on about my journey to find the perfect everyday boot. I could also give you a long list of boots that I've purchased and returned...and even the Jane Tall Frye boots I bought last year and ended up selling on eBay after a few wears. It took me a long time to embrace this tucked in jeans look with boots...I just could not seem to make it work on me. I'm 5' 4 1/2" and weigh about 128 lbs. I feel fat and frumpy in tall flat riding type boots. A friend of mine recently had on a pair of low heel calf high boots with a tread (they were Prada) and I loved them on her, so I decided to find something similar. I found the Campus boot with tread and I am beyond pleased with these boots. They are perfect in every way. The chestnut color is rich and beautiful. I'm completely thrilled. They do run about 1/2 size big. Love.

I don't know whether to tell you how much I love my Frye boots or how much I love Zappos customer service. The boots were a birthday gift from my boyfriend, and he ordered them in the size he'd been given, a 7. The boots run a little big and I had to exchange them for a size down, perfect fit. So comfortable. And they are absolutely soft and gorgeous. And Zappos had them to me before noon the next day.

I find these boots true to size in length, I have under half an inch of extra room lengthwise. But because of the style they are very roomy between the foot and ankle and the leather doesn't wrap around my feet when I walk. I'm solving this by putting in an insole. Again it's not the length of the shoe, but the height/volume inside that is posing a problem for me. I know this is confusing with everyone saying something different regarding what size to order. I'd say though that if you have slightly wider feet to stick with your normal size and go from there. The leather covering the toe and heel seems to be reinforced and is much harder than the rest of the boot. If you have wide feet and order half a size down, you risk needing to stretch the harder leather and I don't know how easy or successful it would be, even if you do go to a cobbler. Just my opinion. I ordered a size 10, my true size. The circumference of the shaft measured from the inside is 15 inches. It will stretch a little when worn. I have athletic calves and I can wear them with jeans tucked in without problem. Easy to put on and off for me. I'm wearing them at home with thick socks to break them in. Like the Harness style, the Campus is made in the USA. Great quality boots that will last for ages.

Needed to have the top stretched just a bit, for my wide calves. Classic Frye style, comfortable straight out of the box. Wearable with almost anything.

Beautifully made and comfortable. Only returning them because they didn't quite suit my style I and want to try a different Frye boot. But the workmanship is awesome and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Cute and fairly comfortable but a little bit heavy. I think my legs would be tired walking around in these all day. The sizing seems a little big. I ordered 3 pairs of Frye 8.5 boots. The other 2 seemed too small. This seemed a little too big. I think if I decide to try them again I'll order an 8.
