I agree with other reviewers that say this shoe runs on the large side. I generally wear a 9 or 9.5 in heels and dress shoes, and an 8.5 in sneakers. I ordered an 8.5, and they fit very well. I like how structured the shoes are, and think they will break in beautifully over time. The only downside to this is that the leather is relatively stiff, and the heels in particular irritate my feet when I wear them. I definitely recommend them, though, as the quality is great for the price.

These are the sexiest shoes I've bought this year. Seriously. The workmanship is fabulous, they fit like a charm, the leather soles crunch delightfully underfoot, and they look so, so cool. They're a step up in cost and quality from what I'm used to, but in looking for a nice woman's lace-up oxford that didn't look too proletariat or too much like a cowboy boot gone wrong, this seemed like the best bet, and I'm more than pleased. The leather is stiff and shiny and beautiful, and I hope they last me a lifetime. I have somewhat wide feet (tall along the ball of the foot) and these fit perfectly, no stretching necessary. I only wish all my shoes were this awesome.

These shoes are gorgeous, and just what I had been looking for. They are simple, beautiful, brown oxfords and look good with both pants and skirts.

Gorgeous, comfortable oxfords. The gray color is warm, more of a taupe really, and the cap of the toe is slightly distressed without looking old. Comfortable out of the box. I walked over a mile in them the first day. True to Frye, they run 1\/2 size large. I\'m usually an 8.5 and always order an 8 in Frye. Only complaint is that the laces are a different gray color, but that\'s ticky-tacky. Overall, I\'m completely happy with the color, fit, comfort and high-quality craftsmanship. I\'ll have these for years.

i usually wear either an 8 or an 8 1\/2, in this case the 8 was plenty big enough. It\'s extremely comfortable and looks sturdy and well made like most Frye products. the only issue I have is that I ordered it in the gray which turned out to be more of a grayish taupe so if you have medium gray slacks this "gray" shoe will look almost tan. But its extremely comfortable and pretty smart looking, so I\'m keeping it anyway.

Maybe a bit to man-ish for silky dresses but perfect for jeans and fall attire. I debated between these and the Carson oxford from Frye and I went with these because I liked the rounded toe and wasn't crazy about the pointed toe on the Carsons. I'm glad I went with these. They're the perfect men's wear oxford for women size feet. I've worn them every day since I've had them. They are a little slippery at first due to the smooth leather sole, but one walk around the neighborhood was enough to scuff them up and slipping around was no longer an issue. Also, I didn't have to break them, I thought this would be made of a tough leather and was surprised that they were comfortable right out of the box.

High quality workmanship and materials make this a beautiful shoe. Very comfortable, too! What more can I say. If you like the style, don't think twice. It's a good buy.

This is a beautiful, feminine oxford. The grey is soft, although it does get quite dark toward the toe. Fits, true to size, with a low heel that makes the shoe very comfortable for walking around my campus every day! I have quite narrow feet and these fit very well. Wide feet might not be happy in these.

I'm in love with these shoes. I bought them last year in the grey--I managed to snag a pair before they sold out everywhere. I'm glad to see they brought these back this year. They are very comfortable--my only complaint is that they rub a bit on my ankle bone on the outside of my leg if I don't wear tall enough socks. These are extremely well made; they will last for years. They do, however, run quite large. I normally wear an 8.5 in Frye and sometimes even a 9 in some of the ballet flats, but I had to return the 8.5 in these for an 8...they looked like I was wearing my hubby's shoes!

Great shoes. They are so comfortable I have worn them for three days in a row. Probably will wear them for three more days in a row. Love them. Can't wait to order a pair of boots.

I just received a replacement pair in my proper size (found that they are about 1/2 size larger than marked). I was very disappointed in the quality! Stitches were missing on the sole -- I just zoomed in on the picture on this site, and they are missing there too! Also, the insole was as if it was made for a smaller sized shoe -- there was a little gap at the heel -- not comfortable! Also, the little nameplate on the sole had a nail poking up. These are way too expensive for that sort of shoddiness. I like the look and am not sure if I want to roll the dice again in hopes that I just got a freak pair.

Very good looking shoes. The Cognac is a rich hue that pops with everything. I tend to order a half size down with Frye, so I selected a 7.5 when I usually wear an 8 and they fit perfectly. The shoes are also very comfortable right out of the box. My only gripe is that the right back heel, at the section where the leather and the back heel are sewn/attached, had a defect in that the top of the heel was not smoothed out. Makes the right shoe look as if it is damaged with scrapes or that I got the shoe stuck somehow and had to pull it out, which caused the rough-looking scrapes (hard to explain). I wore the shoes for a couple of days before I noticed the defect, so I didn't send them back since they that was my fault for not checking. But they are so comfy and I got plenty of compliments. Just make sure you examine your shoes thoroughly before wearing them!

Very comfortable, great looking and they appear to be really well-made for the price. Inexplicably, the laces included with the shoe are stupid short-- too short even to be tied at all! Not a big deal to replace the laces but of course I wish they had been correct out of the box.

Good value; a timeless oxford, comfortable, versatile. My dark brown pair is 2 yrs old, have worn quite often, still in very good condition. Like them enough that I recently ordered a 2nd pair in off-white, to have two neutrals in very different intensity. Whites are difficult to see onscreen and in the flesh, I was very disappointed in the white. It is leather, but is coarsely wrinkled and has a matte finish like old-fashioned roll-on white shoe polish). I'm sure the objective was to make it look updated and distressed, but it looked cheap, like made out of stiff, dried out canvas painting tarp that they couldn't get all the wrinkles out of during fabrication. Dark brown is an excellent shoe. Just two things that could be improved: ship with longer shoelaces (just barely long enough to tie) and make them in the USA, like before, instead of Mexico (I know that's not going to happen, but I definitely consider this when purchasing. It isn't the only issue I consider, but it definitely carries weight). It would be nice to see similar oxford in non-distressed nubuck. Zappos is always perfect.

This is a very comfortable shoe. I have arthritis in my feet and have trouble finding a shoe that both looks good and supports my feet. This is it. I can wear these shoes all day long without any problem. I intend to buy another pair.

I bought these recently, as an alternative to flats or what my friends call 'granny shoes'. They are gorgeous! Almost too gorgeous to wear outdoors. They are very smooth on the bottom, so be cautious when wearing initially, until scuffed up. A little narrower than most shoes, but fit very well with a pair of trouser socks. They have a clean, preppy look to them which I love. Wish the lacing was a little bit longer.

These are very nice basic shoes for someone who is just looking to get a pair of the now fashionable Oxfords for the season. They are very comfortable, especially for those with a high arch/wider feet. The grey color is sublime. The styling and cut are a bit frumpy, though. I guess at the end of the day, Frye is just better at making what they know best, which is boots.

These shoes are beautiful and I really wanted them to work. The left shoe was fine. Fit my foot like a glove. I started to get super excited because I thought I'd finally found the perfect oxford. I then put on the right shoe. It felt like a different manufacturer or something. It was tight across the front of the foot and very hard. I was really kind of shocked. I have a lot of Frye shoes and boots and have never experienced anything like this. Zappos is the best company to work with and part of me wanted to order another pair. Hoping it was just a defect, but I'm not going to put Zappos through that or me for that matter. Beautiful shoe just not right for my right foot. Weird.

I love the look of this shoe but after wearing it for a few hours I developed a blister. The size of the shoe was correct, but the leather is not at all soft so doesn't give. Needless to say, after paying this much for a pair of shoes, I am extremely disappointed. This was my first Frye shoe and it will also be my last. I highly recommend the Ugg Caelyn. I also bought these and they are very comfortable from the moment you put them on.
