I purchased the "Erin" Oxford specifically because one reviewer said she worked in retail and they were the best. I, too, work in retail standing 8+ hours at a time, but they really bothered my feet so, in turn, my knees would hurt. I also had to wear mine in a bit as the leather seemed to jab into the top of my foot the first couple of weeks I wore them (it was only the right shoe). I did not have much of an issue with the laces being too short. During the breaking in period it did, however, seem that my foot was a little "fat" feeling in the shoe as it was tight at first, but now all is well. I'm a little sad I can't show these bad boys off at work every day, but the on the days that I do decide to suffer through and look good I get tons of compliments on how great they look. Overall, it is a fantastic shoe and I would highly suggest it if you aren't going to stand for excessive amounts of time!

Purchase the Erin oxford in taupe. Good classic shoe. Can dress up or go casual. Purchased my regular size 7 1/2. Good fit, enough room for a heavier sock. No break in period needed. Leather is very soft, well made sole and heel. Well made oxford.

This is a gorgeously made shoe - exactly what I was looking for. 99% of the time I'm a perfect size 6 but this just felt large and almost clown-ish on. Since Zappos didn't offer a 5.5 and I ordered that size from another retailer and when I received it it fit perfectly. Great shoe - half size too big.

Love them. Very comfortable and nice quality. Couldn't agree more though with the other reviewers about the short shoe laces.

Awesome! I needed comfortable, cool, collegiate shoes and these fit the bill. It's the first pair of Fryes I've bought and I'm hooked. My shoes size is 9 and a 9 fits perfectly. I have a wide front part of my foot that makes finding size 9 shoes that fit properly a challenge. In most brands I have to go up to either 9.5 or even 10 to accommodate my wide front feet (like ballet flats I could never wear in a 9). I put they fit true to width, for my feet, but if you have a narrow foot (with out a bunion-like little bulge) you may need a different size. Zappos rocks because you can just buy two sizes and return the other for free. I'm happy with the fit, style and comfort.

I've been looking for a white oxford that I could wear with everything for years! White Mountain used to make one, back in the day...but Frye has come through. The shoe fits so well, the leather sole is great for dancing and if I could wear it every day, I would. The leather is not smooth, but gives a casual look that seems to work for me. If they go on sale, I'm likely to buy another pair or two! Love them!

Purchasing these shoes was one of the best decisions I have made in a while. After reading the reviews I was worried that they would be huge, because I ordered my usual ten. They fit perfectly. I have a narrow foot and am able to tie them quite tight, with lace length to spare. However, a friend who I usually share shoes with had to wear them looser, and the lace was too short. The first day I wore these, I scaled cliffs on a misty day in Newport, RI, and wore them out to dinner afterward. The sole is initially slippery, but when scuffed has excellent grip. They have been waterproof and good for a whole day of Boston city walking. The only complaint is that one of the tiny brass nails holding the nameplate on the bottom fell of the first day, and the plate is constantly loosening. Need to have a cobbler fix it. If you are thinking about it, get these shoes. You won't regret it.

I loved the shoe but I had to return. I normally wear an 8 1/2 but the 9 was a little too big. But a really great looking shoe. I will have to order an 8 1/2.

Very comfortable with thin or thick socks. Great space around toes. No curve upward or pressure on nails.

This is a great dress or casual shoe. I have a bad back and my high heel days are over. I love these with skinny, ankle length pants. They are so Comfortable.

On my feet all day in retail. Very comfortable. Stylish and understated. These will last forever.

Frye seems to sways run 1/2 size large to me. The gray color is as pictured, these are great for the mens wear look.

I ordered my usual size, 9 Medium, and shoes fit comfortably right out of the box. The dark brown leather looks great and Zappos service was super-fast as usual. I may end up getting longer shoelaces though...will decide once it stops snowing here and I can wear them to work!

First of all the service at Zappos is the best ever. I read the reviews and ordered an 8. I was leery about that, as I am an 8.5 in a shoe with a heel, and a 9 if the shoe is flat. But so many reviews kept saying order size down (they out weighted the true to size) comments. Anyway, after ordering the 8 and and returning it for a 8.5, here's what I know. Zappos customer service is the best ever, and the shoe runs true to size. By the way, a great shoe, but do it right and allow a bit of proper breaking in time.

I ordered this shoe because the Carson was no longer available in my size - and my dogs chewed the Carson! I loved the Carson, I really like the Erin. It is a nice, sturdy, comfortable shoe that goes well with jeans and other casual pants. I ordered a half size smaller than usual and it fits perfectly.

I absolutely love these shoes. They are simple, comfortable and they look smart with nice pants or dark jeans. The quality is excellent for the money -- good leather, well constructed, the heel has a rubber corner to reduce trips to the cobbler for re-soling.

These shoes are great! I searched for months to find comfortable attractive ladies oxfords that I can wear to work with my business suits when I walk a long distance to to the office. I also enjoyed the Zappos shopping experience and will shop here again. Even the returns are easy. I ordered three pairs of shoes to try. After I received them and selected the best fit, Zappos made it easy for me to return the other two pairs. Thank you!

Great 'man' shoe for women! Comfortable right from the start. No need to break them in. I wore them first time for 4 hours running errands and very comfortable!

Very slick to walk in...very. But well made and the thick leather has taken no time to break in. Might get a cobbler to tack a little pad on the bottoms.

What I've been looking for for years. Traditional man's oxfords for women! So hard to find. I couldn't be happier. True to size and substantial looking. I should have bought two.

Wow! A real shoe and great looking, too! Well made with top quality materials. I haven't owned Frye in a while because I had several foot surgeries and thought they'd be too narrow. This shoe fits like a glove right out of the box, and I know they will continue to mold to the shape of my foot as I wear them. Great support and to my surprise a really cushy footbed. Like other reviewers, my only complaint is the short laces. Very odd Frye. They run a bit large so try a half size smaller.

Great looking shoe. Comfortable, but not as comfortable as the Frye Carson Oxford. This one doesn't have the same heel as the Carson either. I like the Carson better but it's not available in grey. Overall a very nice shoe. Timeless styling. Worth the cost.
