This is a beautiful and warm outer coat; the color is gorgeous and the length just what I wanted. The fit is perfect for my size. I am very happy with my purchase.

It is 28° outside and I just took my dog for a 30 minute walk with just this and a tank top on top. It is super warm, and a beautiful color. I got complimented within three minutes of wearing it for the first time, and one woman yelled out her window while I was pumping gas asking where I got it. It is super great!

I upgraded my old 550-fill down jacket with this warmer, hooded one for being outside a lot this winter. I'm 5'3 and 105 lbs--the XS is still slightly roomy with longer arms, which I have to expect in every coat. The New Adobe color is prettier and more interesting than in the photos; it's more of a rose-gold-orange than the brilliant orange on Zappos. I highly recommend this coat for its style and warmth; the length covers my bum and keeps me cozy. Patagonia is great quality and I plan on having this coat forever.

I purchased this coat after owning the long version a couple of years ago. It's warm, lightweight, and the color is neutral without being black (which tends to get lost when thrown into a pile at parties). I especially love the collar/hood as it hugs your face and doesn't leave space even without a scarf. Worth every penny.

I love this coat. I had done a lot of research on down jackets. I wanted something lightweight, warm without bulk, covered my hips, and had a hood. I am 5'3", 54 years old (with more padding on the hips that comes with this age), size 12. Average build. Most of the outerwear is made too slim in the hip area when it fits my shoulders so I can't zip it. I end up with jackets that are too big. This fits perfectly. It is slim, so a snug fit around the hips but it will handle a layer under it. Fits the shoulders. A little long in the arm but I like that it covers my hands. Long enough to cover my hips and keep the wind out. The shawl style hood rolls into itself nicely and surrounds your neck if you want to have it as a collar. So lightweight and packable. Got it in blue. Color was true to the picture. Totally thrilled with this purchase.

Love this jacket! All the other great reviews made me want to buy and and now I totally understand why everyone was so excited about it! Great slim-fit, very warm and extremely comfortable. Lots of the warm puffy jackets are not very flattering but this jacket looks great and feels amazing...I'm sure I will wear it forever!

I used this jacket for my visit to New England at the start of winter. It kept me cozy warm in snow and very cold rain. Love it. I also like the slim fit, it really makes for a nice fit and keeps it stylish. Amazingly light and easy to pack - even though I used it on the plane to keep me warm. It was like having a light down blanket on my lap.

Just got it. Seems perfect for the Chicago winter. Looks great. Feels soft and comfy. It is really expensive, so would be great to buy it at a sale price.

This is exactly what I needed. Looks great, fits nicely and is very warm. I am very satisfied with this purchase, it is worth the price. The color is more towards a rusty red than a bright red.

Great coat! Love the collar that turns into a hood. It looks like it's just a decorative collar that sits high and keeps your neck warm without a scarf, but it is a hood that can keep your entire head warm. Wonderful! The coat length is longer than the traditional Patagonia, so it can keep you a bit warmer. Just the perfect coat for winter!

Great color, flattering fit, slightly nipped at waist. May want to order up a size for layering. I will have to shorten sleeves. Better long than short.

I bought this jacket to replace a circa 1997 puffy North Face down jacket I've had since...1997. This is far more stylish. I especially love that it hits below the hip. Unfortunately for the jacket, we've had almost no snow or cold weather since it arrived, but I am sure I'll have it for the next 15+ years. This jacket got an enthusiastic response from my husband, too.

I love this jacket! Not too bulky very warm it is the perfect jacket for me, it is the perfect length and very stylish.

Great jacket. Quite warm and comfortable. Nicely fitted so it gives me a bit of shape rather than making me look like a blueberry. I'm 5'1" and on the small to medium side and the small fits perfectly with room to layer. Arms are a bit large/long, but it does provide a lot of movement and allows one to layer underneath it without feeling like the arms are turning into sausages. Not giving 5 stars because I have occasional issues with the zipper and the buttons, which are both plastic and sometimes feel a bit cheap.

I like this coat because it's warm enough when I need it to be but not too warm. It's very light to carry. Pretty flattering for a big fluffy coat.

Very light weight coat yet very warm. The hood can be folded into a collar that is good for keeping the neck warm. Very tight fitting through the torso with anything heavier than a Tshirt or lightweight layer. Arms are quite long.

I bought this coat to wear inside the ice rink. The slim design is long enough to keep my lower back warm without being too bulky. I do not like the buttons, feeling that I might rib them off the fabric each time I try to use them. The down is not pure 800 count. There is other material added to make it like "800 count power." Therefore the coat is a little bit thicker, and does not feel as soft as my other pure 600 count jacket. For my purpose I would prefer this coat without the hood. I bought it for its slightly longer length and "800 count power" at a discounted price. I am 5'7 158lb. The XL is roomy but not clumsy on me.

I really wanted to own this coat! Lightweight and warm. However, it is VERY fitted through the chest and torso. I am 5' 7" and 120 lbs with a boyish figure. It was too snug to be comfortable when moving/lifting ones arms. The torso was too tight when wearing more then a lightweight shirt. Also no interior pockets.

I bought this coat 2 winters ago and have gotten a lot of use out of it. It is very lightweight and reasonably stylish, and it works with almost any outfit and any occasion. I do have several complaints though....1)It is not as warm as I thought it would be. It is warm until about 25 degrees F, below that I need a longer/warmer jacket (I'm in Chicago too where it can get pretty blistery) 2)The material has begun to get "shiny" around the pockets and sleeve ends from wear (laundering doesn't help) 3)Several small tears have appeared in the back inner lining, which I had to mend so the down feathers wouldn't escape 4)The button snaps are really loud, so loud that I unbutton my coat before I get to my work cubicle so that I don't disturb my coworkers. For the price, I really was expecting a better made, warmer coat that would last longer than 2 winters.

Love this coat - it just came - but there are 4 places where feathers are coming out! Not good -- what will it be like in a year? Think I should return.

Coat is not warm enough. The slim style of this jacket is very flattering, but it's not warm enough for me. I also feel the hood and sleeves need to be redesigned. The hood isn't flattering and the sleeves allow cold air to enter.
