I really love this jacket! It is now my go to coat. I am petite and weigh 105 lbs and the sleeves are a little long but not too badly and the coat is toasty warm. I would definitely recommend it!

Love, love, love this jacket! It's very flattering, has a few good pockets (so I don't always need to carry a purse) and it's warm but lightweight. Great for running errands in and out of stores. You don't have all the bulk to carry when you want to take it off and still shop. I live in it.

I love this jacket! Amazingly warm, but not bulky; I hate big jackets because I feel like the Pillsbury dough boy, but I live in Alaska and being from Las Vegas I am always freezing--definitely worth the money. Great jacket!

This jacket is super warm and stylish too––especially for down! The only complaint I have is that I wish there were one more snap to keep the hood closed better. It doesn't stay up in the wind.

Very warm and pretty flattering fit with the stitching. I tried the North Face transit jacket and it was so poofy I felt like the Michelin man. I am tall, 6'1", and a little on the heavy side and the XL fits fine, sleeves are long enough which is a miracle. Only wish that there was a little faux fur on the hood or some other little styling detail to make it a touch more feminine.

Absolutely love this jacket! It's very light weight, comfortable, super flattering, and very warm. My only regret is that I bought it before it went on sale, but having said that, it's totally worth the full price!

I absolutely love this jacket. The material is soft and silky. It is amazingly comfortable and the fit is beautiful. It is sleek and very stylish. When I modeled it for my boyfriend, he commented on how stylish and feminine the jacket looks on! My search for the perfect mid-length jacket is over!

This jacket is stunning. I live in Tahoe and have been wearing it for going out to dinner, out with frineds, etc. It is much more feminine than the standard Patagonia jacket that everyone wears, and dressier too. It is slim fitting, and very flattering. As others have said, the fabric is so soft, it feels divine. It was sold out at 3 other retialers that I checked, then went to zappos, and not only was it here, it had free shipping and came in 48 hours! Fantastic decision to use Zappos!

I am 5'1" and 108 lbs and an extra small fit perfectly. Not too long on the sleeves, shoulder-seams at shoulder, etc. Seems warm enough except at neck, on a very cold day might need a scarf but otherwise very happy and pleased with purchase. Shipping was extremely fast, too!

I am a teacher with the unfortunate duty of having to stand out for bus dismissal every day. In Minnesota. I realized I needed a really warm coat but I didn't want to give up style. This coat is actually the warmest coat I've ever owned and I couldn't be happier with it. The wind doesn't get through it, and the hood provides a warm nest for my head. And of course it is beautiful. No issue with the buttons, as previous reviewers mentioned. They're plastic, yeah, but that's not really a big deal.

I have been pleased with this coat from the moment it arrived. Love the color, the cut (very feminine and with just enough coverage in back), and the warmth. Worth every penny to have a warm, stylish coat to get me through this frigid Virginia winter. Love it.

I love this jacket! The fit is perfect. The fit is flattering and warm, not bulky. I took my kids sledding on a cold, snowy day here in Omaha and was toasty warm. Much warmer than my Patagonia Fiona.

I love the fit, shape, warmth. I wore it to an oyster roast on a blustery 40 degree day and was toasty all afternoon. After wearing four or five times some of the down feathers are escaping, which concerns me a little. The length is great, I was concerned it would hit at that unflattering spot where thighs are thickest, but it just cups my bottom. The hood is cozy and attractive, and compressible enough to not be an uncomfortable distraction in a car. I am 5'6&", 130 lbs and the medium is big enough to wear over a thick sweater and not too loose over just a t-shirt. I am delighted with this purchase!

This jacket is yet another beautiful garment from Patagonia...the color (feather grey), the cut and fabric (silky). The shape (cut) is slim fitted, which is appropriate to wear on a blustery day about town and retain a stylish appearance. Although I haven't worn this garment yet on a 'blustery' day to ascertain the warmth value, I have purchased Patagonia for years and am always pleased with the practical aspects. Additionally, this jacket is water resistant and wind proof, I believe. (Always a must if one desires to remain warm wearing down.) The moment down gets wet or wind is able to pass through a jacket, it loses that essential property of warmth... and isn't remaining warm on a cold day the purpose of wearing a coat in the first place? The only negative is that the point of wearing a (warm) slim fitted jacket is not to have to bulk up with heavy layered undergarments. Since this is the case, I don't understand why the sleeves are so large, as if to accommodate a very bulky sweater. The width of the sleeve is not needed for practicality and it detracts slightly from the slim appearance. That said, I still kept this jacket because the overall look is beautiful and as stated, the warmth factor will, from prior experience with Patagonia, be all it claims to offer.

I shopped for years looking for the perfect coat. I found it in this coat. Quality material and workmanship. Flattering fit. A hood at your fingertips, if you need it. Hand warming pockets. Long enough to cover a blazer. Discreet low-key logo. Love it!

Wonderfully warm for winter on Cape Cod. I love the color and fit; it looks really good on. I'm thinking of getting the Patagonia downtown coat which is longer as I am so impressed by this jacket.

I considered buying this coat since the winter of 2009 and finally bought it at the beginning of winter 2010. It is really soft and comfortable - you have a lightweight down blanket wrapped around you, without the bulkiness. I did a lot of shopping around for similar coats. The price tag on this was hard to swallow and I thought I could find something similar out there in a more affordable price range. I was wrong. There is nothing out there in a similar down coat that provides the style this one does with the contouring, the longer length (without being a LONG coat) all while keeping you toasty. My one complaint (aside from cost) would be the hood. I like it and I do use it but I really wish it was detachable for the times when I really don't need a hood and could do without the extra bulk of it being there. Other than that, I highly recommend this coat!
I'd also recommend:
none - nothing else that I have found is like it!

This jacket is very warm and sooo soft. So far I am never cold in it. I actually don't mind walking the dog now in the cold, because I feel so warm. It's seriously like being wrapped in a down comforter.

Where have you been all these winters, Patagonia jacket? I may never need to own another jacket ever. I purchased mainly as a travel jacket. Well, I traveled to Spain with it, not only was it a perfect warmth but I blended right in with all the European women wearing the same type of jacket. Since home, I have still been wearing it and I am sorry that winter will be over soon and I will have to put it to rest. The coat is super stylish, very slim fitting. A bit puffy but still a flattering fit. I am 5'5, 145lbs, 38C and I ordered the large because it was the only thing in stock in the black. The fit is perfect, the medium would have been too small across the chest. Warm, but never too hot. When not wearing it I rolled it up into a ball and strapped it to my suitcase. Awesome! Love this jacket and highly recommend it and of course Zappos never fails with its superb service.

This is a great jacket! It is super stylish and incredibly warm. I live in north central Wisconsin where the winters are very windy and bitterly cold. This jacket is the warmest garment I own, hands down. And I get compliments on it all the time! The garnet is a gorgeous color and matches everything surprisingly enough. Patagonia is a fantastic company and has created yet another splendid product!

This is the best down coat I have tried on. It's extremely warm, comfortable, and very flattering and sophisticated. Plus, it isn't bulky, it has a very slim line fit. It is just the right length and shuts out the chilly Vermont winter winds! It's totally worth the money!

Love this jacket! It's like wrapping yourself in a tiny sleeping bag! Very warm, but breathable, so I don't get hot and sweaty in it. The hood is a little annoying, but it will roll up inside itself so I can keep it from just flopping around. Not sure how waterproof it is, but it wears fine in a light rain/fog with an umbrella. I don't know if I would wear it in a downpour. I love how it's long enough to cover my low-rise jeans (a problem I had with one of my North Face jackets). It's versatile enough to wear nearly anywhere.

In summary, I love this jacket! It is warm and the fit is extremely flattering. The shawl collar eliminates the need for a scarf. I have received many compliments on the jacket--both for its color (bitter chocolate) and its style. I highly recommend it.

This jacket is very practical and very flattering. But it doesn’t feel practical when I’m wearing it--it feels sinful! Lightweight, silky, not at all constricting, a slim silhouette... and so toasty warm! It’s been great for shoveling snow in PA, and going to work in rainy Houston, where, surprisingly, the jacket isn’t too warm for our winter weather. It’s long enough to keep my hips warm, and the two-way zipper makes driving in it comfortable. The hood is loose, so it doesn’t crush my hair, but it covers it up to keep out the moisture. The DWR finish means it can get damp and the down doesn’t start to ball up. It travels well, too. Just stuff it in the briefcase, then shake it out and put it on--beautiful! I never thought I’d buy a down jacket for any reason other than warmth--but this one is for showing off! No one else will know it’s also high-quality, tough outdoor gear--until they spot the Patagonia logo on the sleeve.
