I bought a pair of Kahunas about 7 years ago and love them. Recently, I needed to replace the nosepieces. Contacted Maui Jim and within 5 days had a new set of nosepieces at no cost.

I discovered Maui Jim's about 15 years ago and have worn nothing but since then. The clarity and color are far better than the other major brands and the perfect optics allow me to wear them for long periods without the eye strain I have felt with other glasses. The construction of the Kahuna is solid and the springs on the hinges make for a comfortable fit and keep them in place without squeezing. Maui Jim stands behind their product 100% and on the rare occasion that I have had a problem they went the extra mile. You won't regret buying a pair.

Best sunglasses I've ever worn and that includes my transition lens prescription glasses. I'm most impressed with the true color of these polarized lenses. I've never worn sunglasses of any type where the colors of what you see before putting them on is what you see with them on. I chose the silver framed Kahunas with the slight wrap of the lenses and am very pleased with both the look and feel. They seem to be s sturdy and well built pair of sunglasses. They have some weight to them but nothing that would have prevented me from purchasing them. I was given a choice of cases - a hard shell clam case or a sports case - I chose the sports case which included a drawstring fabric sleeve/lens cleaning cloth and a harbinger to attach to a belt, if needed. If you are careful with your sunglasses and store them properly when not in use, go for the Maui Jim's - the price is justified and the product superior.

I love how clear these glasses are and they're also sharp looking. They fit well but if you're sensitive to weighty glasses these may not be suitable for you? I like a little weight to my glasses so they're perfect for me.

I have 10+ Maui Jim styles in my collection, which includes other high end brands as well. Kahuna, although they have been on the market for going on 20 years, were always the one that got away. I tried them on several times, but never had the good sense to buy them at the time....always went with something else. I do not have a reasonable explanation why, as these are incredibly nice sunglasses. I'm a Utah kid, and the seasonal weather here can be brutal on the eyes. Sunny Summers, and bright, white Winters take their toll on eyes, but not with a pair of MJ's. I finally settled on Kahuna because of the astounding, and solid quality. They have a fair amount of weight to them, but it is balanced evenly on the nose and behind the ears. Coverage is perfect, and the "wrap" of these is protective from the sides. I have always been impressed by all of Maui Jim's styles I have purchased...quality has never been a problem. As far as value goes, for $299, Kahuna far exceed many pairs of sunglasses in craftmanship, looks, and comfort. You certainly will get what you pay for. These, I would say, are MJ's "flagship" pair. The proof of that is how long they have been around, because so many people love them, and wear them forever! I've been a Maui Jim customer for over 20 years, and I am now one of those happy Kahuna owners, and I'll enjoy wearing these more than any other pair I have! Best Regards, and Thanks MJ!!

I own 5 pair of these in different colors and shades. I have had at least one pair for over 10 years. I use them every day. They are durable( in contrast to one of the reviews on this site) They take care of your eyes on long driving trips or any outdoor activity.

I have had Ray-Ban's, Persol's, Oakley's, Revo's etc., and I can honestly say that all are very good but there is no comparison between the Maui Jim lenses and all others. While all are very sharp, Maui Jim has the most accurate color and a unique brilliance and color saturation that none of the others have. This is what sets Maui Jim apart. All are good at decreasing light, but none have the brilliance, color accuracy and color saturation that Maui Jim has. The Kahuna's are very well made of the highest quality materials and the fit and finish is excellent and very comfortable to wear. The thing I like best about them is that they have the metal-core cellulose acetate temple tips that allow for easy adjusting for a custom fit which allowed me to easily adjust them myself so that they sit straight on my crooked head...LOL! The only caveaut is that they are heavy, but this is typical of sunglasses with glass lenses however; the weight is worth it for the absolute best image quality there is! They are expensive and worth every penny! They are the only brand of sunglasses I own now as I have sold all the other brands since owning Maui Jim's.

They may seem a little pricey, but when you look through these lenses, you will know where that extra money went! Best optical quality of any sunglasses that I have ever had (and I have had them all). They have superior glare reduction and fantastic color enhancement. They are also well constructed. I own both the black and brown pair because the metal frame and classic tortoise stems make the glasses sophisticated enough to wear with a suit. Yet, they are still sporty enough to wear with casual summer attire. It is true that they are a bit on the heavy side, which is an expected compromise for the higher optical quality of glass lenses. What is more of an issue for me than the weight, however, is that they are not a great fit for smaller heads (I am a 6 7/8 hat size). The stem extends so that the curved part is about an inch beyond the back of my ear. This, combined with the weight, means I have to be careful when bending over or not to move my head too abruptly. Still, that is a small compromise to make for this combination of optical quality and style. I highly recommend these glasses!

I have just purchased these a week ago and LOVE them, the clear brite colors are great. I have now found sunglasses that will be used all the time. I ride a Harley and the clarity of seeing is very important to me, I can use these at nighttime with no car glare. Very pleased with my purchase. Thank you Rick

Summer is here and so are my second pair of Maui Jim prescription sunglasses. The fit is snug but not too tight, and there is a good weight to these. I have the gunmetal with gray lenses - the view is amazing. The style is dressy enough for a wedding but casual enough with a touch of class for the beach, driving and other activities. I prefer my first pair MJ Sport 907-02) for any outdoor sport or yard work. Without question, worth the money.

I'm looking to buy my 2nd pair because my prescription changed. I had my first pair for several years, so long in fact, I sent them back to Hawaii to be refurbished and wore them for two more years!

Perfect glass optics with amazing clarity and detail, you feel like your in Hawaii every time you them on! You get a nice modified aviator style that is not too flashy, glasses lenses, relatively light weight considering, looks appropriate from work suit to bathing suit, and offers great coverage due to the 8 base lens. Have bought several time and will continue to do so! Thank you Maui Jim!

I bought a pair of these in 2007, I keep them in my car and have worn them every sunny day since. They are still in great shape and are the best sun glasses that I have ever owned.

I've owned a Kahuna for about 12 years. I'm on my 4th one (I lose one every 3 or 4 years). My 3rd one I did not lose. It was dropped and bent out of shape, so the lens was falling out. But I'd still wear it. Finally my last drop broke the ear piece off. So I bought a new one. A few months later I decided to send the broken one for repair, not knowing what it would cost. I just got it back. It looks brand new. The frame is perfect. The nose pieces have been replaced. And the cost? $10, including shipping back to me. Maui Jim is simply amazing. And these glasses are really the best quality.

I bought my Kahuna's in the Spring of 2014. I have been nothing but amazed by the clarity of vision and comfort of wearing these sunglasses! I spent 20 days in Jamaica last year, and wore them every day. I wear them in the winter here when the sunlight and snow can be blinding - but my Kahunas are at their best in bright light! My wife says they look great on me (another plus!) and I get compliments from complete strangers as well. Worth. Every. Penny.

I purchased a pair of Kahuna's in 2001 and I just can't say enough about these glasses. I live on Cape Cod where there is water, salt water everywhere. As advertised these glasses are salt water proof, I know because mine have been subjected to lots of it. These glasses are perfect for living by the water as they filter out every bit of glare off the water. These glasses are so amazing you can actually see down through the water. When we do get snow on the Cape these glasses filter out all of the glare of the snow which can be really tough on the eyes with the low winter sun angle. When you put a pair of these on it is almost like stepping into a new dimension. Well after almost 14 years of constant use they finally gave out. I sent them back for repair and had the temples and lenses replaced. With the repair I'll bet I'll have them for another 14 years. Simply amazing.
