I wear avias at work everyday and like the way they fit and support my feet. I have a somewhat wide foot and have bunions. I ordered these in size 8 like my current ones and found them to be about a half size short. They are comfortable and supportive to my heel and arch so will try again with 8 1/2.

I wore a different Avia model prior that is discontinued. They lasted a long time and offered a lot of support which I need as I work in a dental office all day. I bought 4 pairs over the years. This model, A1371 fits me well, I usually wear an 8 sneaker and my foot is a little wide. However it has a bit less support and while I am happy with the shoe I definitely don't think it will hold up as long as the other one support-wise or material. However if you wear it casually it is fine. I will be trying another model next time because cushioning and longevity are a priority for me. As an aside, I talked at length with Avia customer support before I purchased and they were very helpful in describing the styles and trying to find one that could replace my older model. Call them if you have questions! My Zappos purchase experience was great!

Top front of toe area hurts when walking and bending on toes. Shopping at Zappos is easy and the shipping is quick.

You get what you pay for. If you are looking for a cheap pair of shoes to wear for day-to-day activities, these shoes would probably suffice. But if you are looking for shoes to wear when you walk for exercise, don't waste your money. First, I had to exchange them for a full size larger than what I usually wear. Then, I realized about a mile into my first walk in these shoes that the insoles are almost non-existent (I put some Dr. Scholl's in). Finally, before I'd covered 20 miles in the shoes, I got a blister on one of my little toes, where the seam rubbed against my foot.

Back Pain - I bought these shoes for the looks. I use them for walking and know that they were intended for running. After 3 days wearing the shoes, my back hurt so badly that I ended up going to the emergency room. Seems I pulled a muscle. I believe it is because you bounce when walking in the shoes. I will give them another try as soon as my back feels better.

These were recommended by friends because I wanted a comfortable shoe to work out in. These shoes were the most uncomfortable tennis shoe I have ever owned. If comfort is what your looking for, this is not the shoe for you.

This is my second pair of these shoes so obviously I really like them. (The first pair is about 11 months old and has been my favorite and most worn of several exercise shoes so even though it still looks good, it is time to replace). So glad it is still available. Fits well and is true to size. Is cushioned, supportive, and comfortable. Couldn't ask for more from an athletic shoe.

I tried many, many pairs of athletic shoes in search of the right one for doing kickboxing workouts. My requirements were: 1. fit my foot well with no sliding; 2. have good forefoot cushioning; 3. have good lateral stability; 4. to be able to pivot easily (need sole without lots of traction). My foot is hard to fit. I have a very narrow heel but wide through the ball of the foot. This shoe has a roomy toebox, stays on my heel, and has good arch support. It meets all my criteria above and is also very lightweight! I almost did not order this shoe because it is so much cheaper than others I had tried. They are not the cutest shoe out there, either. But who cares - they work for my workouts! I mostly do Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire in them, but also gym and crosstraining (lots of plyometrics). These are the best, and I could even afford to buy multiple pairs just in case they ever stop making them.

I got this for my mother in law. She liked this shoe and said it is very light and comfortable.

Light weight and love them! I suffer from heel spurs and plantar fasciitis and these shoes are an answer to my feet problems. I have bought 2 pair (one each color) and I am contemplating buying a 3rd pair, just so I never am left without a pair.

Love these shoes, however found them to run small. Normally buy 9W, ordered 9M, and even though width is fine, my toes touch the front of the shoe. Had to order a 9.5M which fit perfectly. Great value for the money!

These sneakers fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I use them for indoor exercise. I don't think they would have enough support for outdoor jogging on pavement.

Replacing another pair of Avia's that are no longer available. These are not quite as comfortable nor have as much support, but overall I like the shoe.

I bought these shoes, because the New Balance sneakers I got for my birthday were killing me, and I had to find something else. These were in the orthotic friendly section of Zappo's, but I would have to disagree with that. The shoe is very narrow, and although the sole was removable, the shoe had hardly any room for a standard size orthotic. I ended up going without one because my feet were being squished. They're cute looking shoes, but that's about it. I wouldn't recommend them for exercising or walking a lot. They still weren't as bad as the NB's but they were pretty uncomfortable. If I exercised more than a half hour, a sharp pain would shoot down my foot. Also the toe box is very narrow and my feet were getting blistered and calloused because of it. I thought they just needed some breaking in so I wore them every day for 3 months. The only thing that got broken in was my feet, so here I am again on Zappo's ordering a new pair of non-Avias and writing this review. If you exercise and/or are on your feet all day, I wouldn't recommended these at all.

I was looking for a shoe that had some arch support as I have flat feet and was surprised by so many expensive brands that have absolutely none. This shoe has arch support so I am very pleased. I also wanted a pair without any mesh on the body of the shoe for winter wear and it also fit that bill. It also has an excellent size toe box. I have been very satisfied with this shoe and have found them to be very comfortable.

Very comfy. Using them almost strictly for exercise but occasionally walk in them. They feel good and the support is perfect for what I am doing.

I love Avia shoes. But they're getting harder & harder to find. Zappos had a great selection of shoes and at super competitive prices! On line ordering was a breeze. Thank Zappos, I'll be back!

I am on my third pair - but it is all good! I am a nurse in a physician's office, which means I am on my feet all day and never sit down. These shoes support my feet with minimal fatigue, especially because I have extremely high arches. They also support my gait, long strides, and because they are vinyl, protect my feet from bodily fluid splashes. I am able to wipe them clean with hospital-grade disinfectant and the vinyl stands up to the chemicals. On average, one pair lasts about a year, which is why I am on my third pair. I think it is great, especially because I wear them three times a week for 10 hours a day. Before, I used to buy very expensive nurses' sneakers, but the quality was questionable and they only lasted a few months. I figured I would try sporting shoes for my next pair because if sport shoes are built for high impact and many punishing miles, then they would have to hold up to my needs as I race around from exam room to exam room. I gambled and I was right! So, though Asics markets this style and type as an athletic shoe, it also works in the professional realm of nursing. Size is true, fit is cozy but roomy for toes to breathe, and style is understated, perfect for nursing.

Wonderful, wonderful place to deal with! Customer service is awesome and Zappos always, always takes good care of their customers! Will not by my sneakers anywhere else.

I was looking for a good walking shoe that could keep the rain out. These are exactly what I was looking for. I am very happy with this purchase.

Just got my Avia's in the mail...so excited...and put them on right away. Great fit...totally comfortable. I'm so happy with my purchase and would recommend these to any and all. Actually going to purchase another pair so I can have (2) pair of comfortable walking shoes.

I love these shoes but do not understand why the ones with pink trim cost more than the blue ones. Other shoes have several colors at the same price. I would love an explanation.

Very comfortable true to size, but a little snug with real thick socks.This shoe is so light, it is perfect for everyday or workouts.
