This bag is great for a college student. I can fit my 15" laptop, 2 textbooks, and a small binder. The pattern is really cute and it's a great bag for girls who don't want to buy a bag that everyone else has.

This backpack exceeded my expectations. I started with the Garden model, but switched to the Prom because it is roomier. Now all my college books and laptop fit with a little wiggle room. Go Dakine-the quality is fantastic, I love the interior and exterior fabrics, it combines feminine comfort and style with high marks for utility. Zappos' friendly, patient customer service operator helped me with dimensions not listed and I was shocked at the speed of their delivery.

I love this backpack, and the design is awesome. Nice compartments and fits 2binders 2large books and room for about one more book and a notebook .Also this is really comfortable with everything I pack in there!

It's sturdy, has enough storage space for books and nice design. My 7th grade daughter loves it.

I adore this backpack! This is my go to bag for when I need a bit of space to carry some shopping and an extra jacket in case it gets cold. It has got the perfect amount of pockets, it is very durable, and the zippers are all smooth and easy to use. The double zips mean that you can open most of the compartments from the top instead of having to zip from down one side around to the other side. I do not use the laptop sleeve (as my laptop is too big for it), but that is OK, it does not get in the way. I have had this for a couple of years in a lovely green/blue stripe pattern. I love it!

This backpack is great! I am a non-traditional college student and needed a backpack that looked good and was also functional. This bag looks feminine and is appropriate for someone older! It holds my laptop and several textbooks without being too heavy! The straps are also very comfortable! Great purchase!

We bought this for our 13 year old daughter for Christmas and she just told me again how much she loves this bag! It is large enough to hold all of her school "stuff" and has so many compartments that she can keep everything organized (cell phone, iPod, running gloves/hat, etc.)!

I ordered this Backpack for my granddaughter, age 11. She loves the bag color, and all the pockets & storage options! It seems very sturdy & well made too!

This backpack is stylish and functional. My daughter loves the plaid pattern, along with all the compartments and spots for storing her "stuff." The shoulder straps are very comfortable, and overall, the bag is sturdy and well made. The only downside is that when she is carrying her binder and a couple of textbooks, there isn't room for her lunch bag. I highly recommend this backpack for middle school age girls. Well worth the money!

I am a freshman, and I absolutely love this backpack. The first week of school, I got lots of compliments, even saw someone else with it. It is not really roomy, but with a locker, it can do it all. It is able to carry the two or three books I am reading at the time, along with three 1" binders, with all my extra stuff like loose leaf paper and an agenda book easily. Or two 1½" binders and a text book. The insulated pocket is helpful for when I take a water to school, or if I cannot finish my lunch fruit. There is a pocket that can hold all my pencils, Sharpies, highlighters and pens. The straps are nice and wide, dispersing the pressure over your shoulders. This backpack could increase in size, but if there is a locker, you should be fine.

I love this backpack! Lots of spots for different things. Adore the velvet-lined pockets for electronics and eyeglasses.

Love this backpack! It's super cute, the pockets are all great, functional sizes, and it's comfortable to wear. It comes in a multitude of colorful patterns and has a fun lining in each so that it's easier to find things in the bottom! I would definitely recommend this to anyone. (:

The comfort of the bag is phenomenal. The location for my laptop is secure, and strong enough to not worry about the physical commute around NYC. The cooler department really surprised me, its ability not leak and keep things very cool. Overall its worth every penny you have to pay now a days for a reliable backpack. Usually carrying things of necessity for a person on there way to school or work.

Beautiful pack. Stiff fabric. Zippers only go one way so not as easy to get into. People comment on it all the time.

I purchased this Prom backpack from Dakine two years ago and was a full-time graduate student. This is by far the most durable, and best quality backpack I have owned throughout all of my years of schooling. First, the backpack's exterior withstands considerable wear and tear. I have been pretty rough with mine and it looks the same as the day I bought it. Secondly, there are many compartments to store your various possessions in. The front pocket has a small insulated pouch perfect for storing a drink or small food item. The middle section has lined pockets for a small electronic, in addition to a zipper compartment in this same area, and smaller slots for pens and pencils. The main compartment has a laptop sleeve which was able to store my netbook. The backpack was able to expand to contain a couple of textbooks, and a binder. Finally, there is a smaller zippered section above the main compartment which can house your sunglasses or phone. There is one mesh side pocket for a water bottle, and another smaller pocket on the periphery which can hold keys or an ID card. I love the fun colors and the aesthetics of these backpacks.

I love this backpack! The first time I carried my laptop in it, I could barely tell it was in there! The weight distribution is awesome. Also, it has great compartments. The sunglasses/smart phone compartment at the top is especially useful. Plus, it's adorable! I have already recommended this backpack to my friends.

This backpack is even cuter in person! I was kind of worried that the top part would stick out (it looked like it did in the video) but it doesn't at all. I'm 5'4" and it isn't too big. The overall quality seems good, I haven't used it yet though. It also has a neat little cooler pocket! Don't know how I missed that! I bought it for an upcoming birthday trip to Chicago, can't wait to use it!

I love this bag & am ready to order my second. I use it as a gym bag & it's perfect. I like to keep my keys in the sunglass pocket & my water bottle fits perfectly in the side mesh pocket. It's also great if you want to pack a spare pair of shoes or clothes.

I love Dakine backpacks! I bought a Dakine backpack (prom) my freshman year of high school and it made it all the way through the next four years! It was never too small and I was able to fit all of my school supplies in the backpack, including a lunch packed in exclusively tub-a-ware! The side zip pockets where great for a water bottle and on the other side I was able to fit my glasses case in the other zip pocket. The water bottle pocket is great because it can accommodate any size. After comparing North Face, Dakine, Underarmour and Jansport I decided to buy another Dakine to attend college in the fall. The only reason I am buying a new backpack is because I was ready for a new print after for years -- not because I physically needed a new one! All of my friends have Dakines and their backpacks have held up just as well as mine! Its a really good purchase, defiantly worth the money!

Excellent print and quality, zippers etc. With the insulation the back pack doesn't hold quite as much as you might think. Overall, I loved it for my vacation and I use it daily for my Gym bag.

I bought this bag for my 9 year old girl. We have had it for 3 months so far and it has held up better than any bag so far. There are lots of sturdy compartments (so important to girls). A cell phone pocket and another inside that holds her folder without it getting wrinkled. Great purchase!

I love this bookbag. It's perfect to hold my workday stuff: makeup bag, water bottle, a couple of books, and there's even a space for my laptop if I need it. I sometimes have trouble squeezing my lunch in if I pack a large tupperware or other bulky item, but in general it fits my needs perfectly.

I've been using this backpack for nearly 4 years now. I work in an office, and commute every day, lugging around a hefty laptop, hardware, and paperwork. It keeps everything I need in there, even my (sizable) purse when I really need to hoof it quickly. The straps are nicely padded, the laptop slot is also padded and secure. As long as I've had it, the thing still looks new! I'd buy this again without a doubt; not that I need anything!
