Have to break them in - These shoes run a bit narrow, I had to order one size larger and it was still tight on the front straps. I didn't want to return them again so it took me about 1-2 days of walking around the beach to really stretch the front straps out and get comfortable. If you are wearing sunscreen, the black color will come off and stain your foot! No worries though, after showering the stain washes away. After a few days this sandal has gotten really comfortable, and it also dried quickly if it got wet. I dipped it in a foot bath and it dried within a day.

Nice shoe, but not true to size - I wear a 9 so that's what I ordered. I got the shoe yesterday and it is definitely not true to size. I wish I could go a 1/2 size up, but just ordered a 10 and hope it works because they do feel comfortable otherwise. I've been looking for a thong type sandal I can wear all day at work (I'm a teacher) and these felt good, except for the cutting feeling between the toes because it felt too short. I hope the 10 works!

Cool and comfortable - Cool, with a great footbed, the Savannah seems like a trusty summer sandal. It will take a bit of time to get used to the leather thong between the toes...

Almost strappy and very comfortable - I have impossible feet - size 11 to 12 and just plain ugly - happy to find these basic black sandals and intend to burn up the streets of Paris in them this summer. Zappos, as always, a pleasure to deal with.

Not the same as the OLD Savannah... I was very happy to see that Merrell had begun making the Savannah style again, as I loved the pair I had before, and literally wore them out. But when I received this new pair, I realized that it's not quite the same as the previous version. On this new version, the straps are not suede, as in the previous; they are smooth leather and not QUITE as soft; and there is a small fabric inset, which makes them not quite as dressy as the previous style. The other problem is that the insole is a PATTERNED suede, which rubs my very sensitive feet a little, compared with the 'plain' suede of the original, which was a little more comfortable. I am hoping that this new one will soften up, but the original style did NOT need to soften, they were supremely comfortable right out of the box.

Very comfortable for walking with that sole. A sandal you can wear with 'bad feet'. It looked just a touch "orthopedic" to me. Not quite as cute as I hoped.

Ouch! the thong part of this shoe rubbed me the wrong way immediately. Maybe I got a bad pair or something, but I think I would have raw skin between my toes after walking just a block. Footbed is nice and supportive though, just not for me.

I like Merrell clogs, but the sandals didn\'t work for me. I have thick-ish ankles and wide feet and these were just too delicate to look nice on me. I am sure they will look great on all you lucky gals with thinner ankles and feet.

Nice shoe but it does not fit perfectly. Aside from the back strap being too loose for my slightly narrow heel, the inside of my right foot hangs out the shoe a bit.

I liked this sandal a lot, but the straps were just too tight across my high arches. It fit fine in every other way, and was stylish and well-made. Even though it only comes in a medium width, it was wide enough for my wide-ish feet. If you have average or low arches, you'll probably like this sandal. Hooray for Zappos easy return process!

Sexy Savannahs! I LOVE the look of these shoes and they do look nice on, very sleek and sexy. The problem was the sandal pulled uncomfortably tight between my toes and I was looking for a comfy walking sandal. Happy sandal shopping everyone and being new to Zappos, a friend recommended Zappos to me, I have to say I will be back soon and I LOVE your quick and free shipping and wonderful return policy. Stop! I found the good reviews to be totally wrong about the thong on this sandal. It is attached to the foot bed with elastic which allows it to twist sideways and rub viciously between the toes. The length and cushioning are fine, but this sandal runs narrow and tight for my normally size 8 medium foot.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. I bought these shoes based on the reviews and for the look. I took the shoes out of the box and was thrilled with the look. I tried them and immediately the thong strap started rubbing. I thought since it was leather it would eventually soften. I wore them for two days but the strap kept hurting. The strap seems to be too wide for me. I wanted them so bad to fit because they are pretty shoes. I returned them. They run small, I am a size 8.5 and since they don\'t have half sizes, I ordered a 9.
