LOVE this sandal and had my eye on it and have been thrilled with it so far. Perfect blend of a stylish sandal with comfort/durability of a Chaco. ;)

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks. They are really cute sandals but the leather is very hard and actually hurts my feet across the front strap. It will take a lot of breaking in to soften the leather. The footbed is comfortable however. Once this is broken in, I'm absolutely sure that these sandals will be great and will probably last a very long time. I normally wear a size 6.5 and I ordered a 6.5 but it is just a bit big on me. If I push my toe towards the front so that it fits perfectly through the toe hold portion, there is a lot of room at the heel. I didn't exchange it for a smaller size however, because I was afraid that a smaller size would be too small. When the leather softens a bit more, I think I can adjust the straps tighter for a better fit. I have to say that these sandals are really cute though and have a very cool bohemian look and will be very awesome with boho skirts this Spring/Summer, as well as shorts. It was a good buy. I'm going to give this a 5 star for overall, comfort and style as I think that the longer I wear these sandals the better they will be.

I wear a 7-7.5 and I found this size too big. I was surprised because all reviews say true to size. I'm returning for a size down.

I was concerned that the wrap around ankle strap would not provide a good tight fit. This sandals stayed in place. I am still taking them to shoe maker for extra wholes. The big toe strap wraps around without hurting. I'm a 5 star happy camper walking with this sandals!

They are true to size. First few times the ankle straps were rubbing a little but they have loosen up and now are incredibly comfortable. Love the Habana oiled color, it looks great. I'm sure I'll be wearing this sandals a lot!

I love this style.. However, I ordered Habana and the ones that arrived look like they are the tobacco color. I’m not finding anything on the shoes to identify the color. I’m almost thinking they may have been packed in the wrong box ?

I love Birkenstock’s but am uncertain about this sandal. My normal size is a 41, I ordered a 40 in these, but they are still too big.

I'm between an 8-1/2 and 9, and tried a 38 and 39. The 39 was too large, but the 38 fit well. Unfortunately, the leather between the toes really hurt my smaller toe on my left foot, while the right foot felt fine. I was bummed to have to return them.

It’s too big for me. Ii think I need a side less than 6.5.

I own these without the ankle strap. I wanted to try with the strap. I just didn’t like the look on me. I feel like the ankle strap should be the same width as the toe straps. If the ankle strap were thinner I think I would love them. Returned.

These run big. I wear size 7 and they look like a 7.5. Returning.

I bought my first pair of Birkenstock Gizehs four years ago when I was pregnant with my second child. They quickly molded to my feet and I wore them nonstop for months, including exclusively for a two week walking vacation while I was six months pregnant. My feet changed after both pregnancies (arches fell a bit, feet now a little bit wider - C width - across the tops of my feet) and my Gizehs were now uncomfortable almost immediately after putting them on. Initially, I tried to just reorder the Gizehs, but the widest part of my feet extends over the sides of them, which I don't like. I ordered the following sandals to try and replace the Gizehs: Yara - kept, love these and the ankle strap, definitely keeping them, feet do slide a little but nothing uncomfortable, will try tightening the straps, takes an extra minute to put them on due to the straps, like the toe strap, feet definitely fully fit on footbed Granada - returning, uncomfortable both times I tried them on, thinking that it's the multiple cutouts in the straps (which look cute but hurt my skin if I try to walk), feet definitely fully fit on footbed Arizona - deciding, super comfortable trying on but they look so clunky, also feel like my feet slide forward a lot, feet definitely fully fit on footbed Mayari - deciding, super comfortable trying on, just wondering if they're too similar to the Yaras, like the toe strap, feet definitely fully fit on footbed

Originally ordered the 39 as I'm a 8-8.5 and they were way too big on the length. Dropped down to 38 and they fit well. I have horrible arthritis in my feet, bunions, and fallen arches, as well as broken ankle from 20 years ago. Love the high arch and ankle wrap. I have slim ankles, and I wear them on the 2nd tightest link, so I can see where people with average or thicker ankles may have a problem with them not being long enough. These sandals take some getting used to and need a break-in period, as well as playing with the straps to get a not too tight fit, but if not tight enough my foot slides around in the bed. I ended up with a blister on my inset from wearing them walking around town the second day. I find it hard to wear most of the Birkenstock sandals as I need some type of ankle or heel strap to stabilize my foot in the sandal. Also, I find that sometimes Birkenstocks in general are either too big at size 39, or too small at size 38, so I'm surprised these fit so well. I seem to be a size 8.25 and it's hard to find a good fit. I've also noticed that the thong helps to straighten my bunion angle, and the high arch helps with pronation. A keeper! 4 stars though, as the ankle strap is awkward and you can't just slip into these sandals and go, as well as the blister I encountered with foot slippage. They look good on my feet and unlike so many other "support" sandals, I don't feel like I'm wearing clown shoes.

I love the style and have received many compliments. I did get small blisters where straps cross on ankle and toe first wearing, but now it's fine

these are HUGE. i've worn a 39 in birkenstocks forever. these make me wonder if i need to even go down to a 37.

A bit roomy in the back

The reviews don’t lie about sizing down. I’m a 9 in any shoe and even have another pair of Birkenstock’s in a 40 that fit well. These I had to return for a 39, which fit perfectly. My first pair had a defect, the glue was coming apart on one strap before I even wore them. But Zappos reshaped new immediately. I haven’t worn them yet so I can’t say how they are for long term comfort but they feel great to try on. They’re so cute. Also, I have big ankles and they’re slightly tight but they do fit.

I resisted Birks for a long time but time has caught up with me. I'm happy that I made Yara's my first ever pair of Birks. They fit my foot well and have a cute, stylish look for summer. I wore them all afternoon yesterday and most of today as I thought the leather around the toe might rub and hurt. So far, no rubbing! I did notice, however, that the ankle strap is not very generous. Thank goodness I don't have thick ankles, because the very last hole is the most comfortable for me. I knocked off one star because of that.

I wore Birkenstock sandals for many years and hey were the only comfortable shoe I had. We moved and I needed something other than a sandal. I thought I had worn a 37, but after trying these on, I realize I need a 36. I think I may have ordered these once before because I seem to remember trying to get the straps to buckle. It is difficult for me to get around to the outside of my ankle to work with the buckle and I don't think the straps are long enough for my foot and ankle. The sandal is lovely to look at and I like the way the big toe fits into one slot and the rest of the foot fits into the opposite side. If I can't get this shoe, which is too large, buckled, a size down won't work either. Next summer I will look for another Birkenstock sandal, perhaps back to my old favorite, the Arizona.

The leather on this style felt stiff and the shoe looked clunky compared to the Lola style, which I ended up keeping.

The fit is perfect. I usually wear an 8 or 8.5 and I ordered the 39 and they fit perfectly! I ordered them one day and they were at my door the very next day. Zappos customer service is the best! These are stylish and comfortable. I’m sure I will be wearing them often. Totally happy with my purchase. Zappos ur the best!

Order a full size smaller than your normal Birkenstock size. I was skeptical and did not follow advice from other reviews and I had to return them. They feel a little bit harder to break in but are insanely cute.

I have a number of pairs of birks, unfortunately I found that these ran large as compared to my other pairs. I ordered a size smaller and they fit perfect!
