For comfort and simple elegance, these sandals are on target. I hoped these would be good quick on and off sandals for around the beach. I'm sure they would be fine in sandy conditions, but on my kitchen floor, they were very slippery. Not a good quality in foot wear, so I'm returning.

These are pretty but the strap comes across right where my foot flexes when I walk and doesn’t really hold my foot onto the footbed. Off to find something more comfortable.

The overall fit was not bad. The upper material felt cheap and looked cheap. The top strap felt hard and not very giving. For the price they should look better and feel better. The foot bed was comfortable. Would not waste my money on the non leather Birkenstock. Sent back them back.

Very unhappy they don't make these in real leather. My only option is to get the big buckle ones if I want real leather. I'm super disappointed in Birkenstock.

I wanted to love these! The one strap just didn't hold the shoe on my foot well. As I was walking, I felt like I had to really concentrate on keeping the shoes on. I usually wear a 9 1/2 and ordered the 41 (10-10 1/2) based on other comments about how Birkenstocks should fit. The fit length and width wise was great, I just couldn't keep them on my foot! I have returned and ordered a different style.

This was my very first Birkenstock purchase. I was very excited to have these sandals as my summer go-to shoe, but unfortunately they were very uncomfortable for me. I have quite wide and flat feet, so within 30 minutes of wearing them, the arch support on the shoe began to hurt my non-existent arch, as the arch on the sole is quite hard. Unlike other shoes I have bought with arch support, these were too intrusive on my foot. Therefore, I'm not so sure that these shoes are ideal for those with very flat feet like myself. Perhaps if the sole had been a bit softer, they would have worked just fine.

A cute look for a not really stylin' shoe. Very hard sole that may soften up, but not yet. Love the patent leather strap that is sizeable.

This is my second pair of Birkenstocks, well, actually, my first pair is by Papillio, Birkenstock's cuter younger sister. These shoes are the panacea for sore feet! The strap is adjustable for my narrow feet. Unfortunately, you have to look long and hard to find Birkenstocks/Papillios that are also attractive, and this white patent style makes the cut! The moment I get home, these shoes go on my feet! Ahhhh! I buy a smaller size (L7--38) than my usual size (8).

I wore these the other day for the first time and have been since wearing bandaids with antibiotic cream. My feet have been killing me. These deceivingly need to be throughly broken in for them to be comfortable. These are not meant for any considerable amount of walking, at least in the beginning.

Unable to wear the shoes they are very hard inside and hurt the bottom of my feet. Felt like walking on concrete.

Size stated 11.5. It was an 11. Too small.

I bought these in Italy. Even though the support was great, the strap wreaked major havoc on the skin of the top of my foot. I was really disappointed.

These shoes are cute, however the strap goes over a certain part of your foot/toe that is not comfortable when you walk. It feels like it hits a pressure point.

I always used birkenstock size 38. I guess the conversion you use is wrong…

Zappos thinks that they are this amazing shoe place but they do not understand a thing about Birkenstocks. Birkenstocks come in N or R width. God help you if you want Birkenstocks in a fabulous new color or pattern. All they carry are N. Everyone carries N it is the 39R that I want. It fits great but if they carry any Rs at all they are taupe. The exact color of mud. I would spend a lot of money a season for some fun sparkly new colors or whatever. I own about 25 pairs in all kinds of colors but I have to search the world for them. Get me some fladhy Nee Birks in hot colors in 39R.

My wife loved these sandals this summer. She has several pairs of Birkenstocks and while the overall length of the shoe is consistent with her other styles, the sandal is more narrow. She has fairly narrow feet so this wasn't a problem. She liked how the shoe was a little more dressy than other Birkenstock style. I think they can be dressed up or down for around town or on a date. They go great with a dress or jeans. There appears to be little wear on the shoes even after a summer season of moderate use.

The right shoe runs directly behind my little toe. I am hoping with wear the shoe will stretch/adjust to my foot.

These Birkenstock Madrids are my 3rd pair of Birks after Arizona & Zermatt (favorite). I chose this model for the slim single-strap feature perfect for summer, and I wanted to try Birko-Flor Birkibuc material, which I also like. Pretty comfortable right out of the box, just being a little stiff the 1st day only.

I never have to think w Birkenstock sizing. I always get the same size & width & they’re always perfect.

Fits really well and doesn’t take long to mold to your feet. I bought these as a replacement for a pair of 12+ year old Madrids.

Great fit. I bought these as a replacement for the same pair I bought 12 years ago. Still breaking them in a bit, but even after just a few wears, they’re feeling as great as my old pair.
