I like the fact that the buckle and strap color are the same. I have a pair of silver madrid. Compared to the Arizona that I have in the same size 38. These are a bit more narrow at the toe area but not to much. These are comfortable shoes that wear like a slide. If your feet are fairly normal not narrow but not wide also. You will like the fit. Get your size according to the size you wear European and you should be fine.

I'm a 7N and struggle to find shoes that are narrow enough for me. So many shoes in my closet are mediums that I've had to "doctor" with pads, etc. I haven't worn Birkenstocks for years and I'm glad to be back wearing these stylish slides. The silver dresses them up a bit so they will be perfect for sundresses when I don't feel like wearing a wedge. Adjustable buckle is great for me as the circumference around the ball of my feet is thin. I really love the look of the Gizeh sandals, but the thong was too rigid and uncomfortable between my toes. The Madrids are a great compromise for me!

I never thought I'd be purchasing Birkenstock sandals since I always thought the older styles were bulky and masculine looking. The Madrid Birkenstock sandal is stylish and comfortable with no break in period needed. These are great sandals that go with all your clothes options (dresses, shorts, etc.)

I bought these because I had a healing tattoo on the top of my foot and couldn't wear flip-flops to my workplace. They did the trick in looking just formal enough to avoid getting me in trouble, and they were comfy. I can't say they're as stylish as the version with the wider strap that all the high school girls are wearing these days, but they do have a slightly feminine look that helped my wide feet look less hobbit-like. They did the job.

The ease of slipping these shoes on is great. I find them very comfortable now, but I do need to mention that it takes a while for the shoes and your feet to agree with each other. My advice is to use them in 1-2 hour increments until they have gotten used to each other. I made the mistake of going out for one whole day with these shoes during the first week, by the end of that day my feet hurt really bad! I stopped wearing them for a few days (because my feet still were sensitive) but gave them a chance again after. I decided to use them only while I prepared breakfast before getting dressed to work. Slowly but surely I was able to wear them in longer batches of time and now I love them and use them all day long. They look great too!

It's a decent slipper style sandals. The insole is not supportive but better than regular flip flops. Arch support is decent. Surprised that it did not come in a box! It came in a plastic bag that did not even say Birkenstock on it. So if it's going to be a gift, you should keep this in mind.

I wanted medium width, not narrow.

I like the sueded cork footbed because my feet don't slide, but it is a different feeling footbed. I think my feet will take a little while to get used to it. Overall I like the sandal. I usually wear a 9 1/2 and got a size 41. Might have been able to wear the 40.

My third pair of Madrids. I had planter facitis in my left foot after wearing flip flops all summer two years ago. I tried to relieve it with ice, exercise and inserts. Only some relief. A friend told me that birkenstocks are good for that condition. So I tried them. I have a narrow foot and was happy to see the madrids came in narrow. Well they really are a medium width but are fine for my narrow feet as long they are fastened on the closest hole. Very comfy, can wear them all day They also helped my planter fascia.

I have been looking for narrow Birkenstocks for a while without much luck. I wasn't sure this style would fit my narrow foot but once the strap was adjusted it fit just fine. Good casual slide but not for going up and down stairs.

I was looking for a shoe to wear around the house this summer that had more support than flipflops, yet was comfortable. These fit the bill nicely. I normally wear size 7, but ordered down a half size. The 6.5 is a little short but I can wear them. I would advise ordering your normal size.

I really like the brownish beige color. Has a bit of a shimmer to it, almost bronze. Took several wears to adjust to the foot bed. Some initial arch discomfort. Overall great casual sandal.

I bought this pair to wear at home. I like the more expensive one with soft heel more, but this is great for the money. Looks nice too.

I love these sandals. they are cute and super supportive. I bought them for my vacation in which I would be walking a lot and my feet felt awesome! I also have super high arches so these are much better than the super flat flip flops. I like this black leather much better than the black shiny one. I also have wide feet and they are perfect for those as well.

Cute and comfy. Silver color allows it to go with a lot of outfits. However, I am a size 6.5 I ordered the Euro size 37 which is supposed to fit 6.5-7.0. It was at least a full size too big. Not sure if I will take the trouble to return it for the 36.

This shoe is very attractive but hurt my foot (rubbed against the joint before my big toe on both feet). I guess my feet are just odd or not suitable for "feminine" Birkenstocks. I was so looking forward to them.

These are nice, basic comfortable slides. The color is really nice. Didn't purchase them with style in mind, which is okay!

I was excited to try my first pair of Birkenstocks! This relatively new style looks simple and stylish enough in black to be versatile. However, I ordered a 37 - the size that I wear 95 percent of the time, and they were huge. I am reordering in size 36 and getting the black patent leather which I did not see as an option the first time around.

I have never owned Birkenstocks before and I really like them. They are well made and comfortable; however, I have been wearing them regularly and they still haven't "broken in" yet. Probably why they last so long! I usually wear a size 8.5W or 9M and the 39 fits but just barely. Love Zappos too! Always great delivery and service.

I never new Birkenstocks could look streamline! I love that the shoes do not look wide and bulky, but they have all the comfort and support for a medium/wide foot. As with my previous Birkenstocks, they will need to be broken in so they fit true to my foot shape.

Very summer and cute, like Dr Scholl shoes in the old days but not as rigid. I had to return and order a size smaller. I think they come in narrow as well and will update if they work. The arch was not as great as other shoes but they are still good.

I do not like the separate toe bed. It was very uncomfortable. Other than that, fit was fine, style okay.

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks, I had never tried a pair on before but they looked comfortable and are actually on trend right now so I wanted to give them a shot. While they fit true to size and you can adjust the strap for your foot width, the sole is not cushy, it is hard and solid and it kind of hurts to walk on them, but I think that's the idea, they mimick walking on solid ground? Perhaps that's good for your feet.. I don't know. I'm keeping them because they go with a lot of different outfits and because I think the more I wear them the more comfortable they will become. I probably need to read up on Birkenstocks and the concept behind them, I simply ordered them in a whim.

I'm in shock right now. I wore Birkenstocks in the '90s in high school and never thought I'd wear them again. But I was searching for a comfort sandal for my now picky feet (bunionettes) and saw all the positive reviews so I decided to give them a try. I'm always an 8 in sandals and 8.5 in sneakers, but I followed the reviews exactly and ordered down to a 38 Narrow. The size is perfect. I was worried about this style slipping off my feet, but they actually feel more secure than my flip flops. The leather is a bit stiff and digs into the top of my foot as I walk, but I know it will loosen with wear. I have a feeling these will be an amazing sandal once broken in! They're not exactly feminine or super attractive, but I'm starting to care more about comfort than fashion these days anyways.
