I ordered these after weeks of anguish trying to find cool street shoes for the guy almost 40 that didn't make me look like my grandpa or that I skateboard to work. These did the trick. Good-looking, comfortable and inexpensive. I wouldn't run a marathon in them, but great for office casual.

I got these because I think they look a lot better than the 574 original classics. Very happy with them.

These are great so far. They are very comfortable. The nosing on the left shoe has started to peel back slightly though.

I've been wearing Vans Authentics and Converse Chuck Taylors for the past ten years -- two notoriously unpadded shoes. The aforementioned two shoes are entirely comfortable, as long as you don't have to walk more than half a mile at a time. My daily trek has increased to 10 miles a day, so I bought these New Balance 373s. They are light and snugly comfortable, but definitely benefit from a third party insole. Even without this, they are a huge step up in comfort over the Vans and Converse. Stylistically they are excellent -- low profile, minimal padding, and not bulky looking nor garish in design. Disappointed to see that they are made in China -- I sure hope they last.

I have been wearing New Balance 574's for years now, but was enticed to try some 373's I found at a discount. I should have considered that the style difference doesn't stop at the outward pattern appearance, but continues to the deepest levels of shoe design. This shoe is narrower than the width (D) to which I am accustomed from NB, and the toe of the show seems to stick out too far, giving the whole thing a stretched forward feel. In short: little toe room, not enough in the mid-sole, and narrower contact with the ground. I do wonder what ordering these a width up would be like, but I will be going back to the tried and true (New Balance 574) next year instead of answering that. In the meantime, I lace the shoes looser and it works. One other thing, the N logo is not reflective. Bummer.

Good comfortable shoe for the price. Moderate arch support. So, if you need good arch support, you won\'t find it in this shoe. Fits true to size and width. The grey is a bit darker than I would like. But, the photos on the site accurately portray the shoe\'s colors. I wore these shoes all day at Disneyland with no problems.

Great casual shoe. This is a lightweight, comfy, and cheap. It's the perfect combination. I was worried they would fit goofy, but they conformed to my feet rather well. We'll have to see how long they last, but for the price, I believe I've already got my moneys worth. Since I can't yet vouch for the product's durability, I'll give it 4 stars.

Very light weight shoe. Great for walking around and being active. Would not recommend as a true running shoe.

Generally, nice, light retro feel shoes. I was a bit disappointed by the thin soles, not the best for a long day of urban walking.

One of the most comfortable walking shoes available (NOT a great running shoe b/c it makes for high-impact heel-strike landings, but you’re not purchasing this shoe for marathon training anyway).

This is a good shoe, although it lacks arch support. Looks great and nice and lightweight. A great casual sneaker to wear with jeans and a t-shirt.

These are the best shoes that I have ever owned... Hands down! There was no break in needed, and no sore feet. I typically wear skate shoes and I always felt like I was walking around in soggy shoes because of there weight, wearing the Classics I felt like my feet were lighter. I wear a 14 and typically a extra wide but I didn\'t need it with these.

Too Narrow - Granted, I have fairly wide feet, but I usually like New Balance because their shoes tend to accommodate my feet nicely. This shoe, however, was just way too narrow! I was disappointed, as I love New Balance's shoes, and I really like the styling of this particular model. They also did not have various widths available for this model.

This shoe is definitely narrower than the 574 Classic. I normally fit a 574D (even with semi-wide feet) so I thought I might try this new M373. The shoe feels great but is a bit on the narrow side when it meets the arch. When comparing my 574D shoe sole with the M373 sole, the difference was mainly notable in the arch width. The 574 is much wider. Still, this is a good looking shoe. Not the best but worth the buy!

The shoes arrived in a timely manner. They look as they should. The right shoe feels perfect, the left one does not feel comfortable. After a month of wearing sparingly still uncomfortable. Would not recommend buying shoes without trying them on first. I own an older exact same pair of these shoes and they were perfect from the start, that's why I ordered these.

Good: You can comfortably wear these out of the box. No break-in needed, no blistered feet. Nice design. Bad: Shoe is narrower than other New Balance styles I've tried. Comfortable but absolutely no arch support so okay for lazing around but not good for lots of walking. Color of shoe is navy blue but is definitely lighter than indicated in the photo (this may vary depending on your monitor). Ugly: After wearing almost daily for less than two months, one of the shoes is already deteriorating and has developed an annoying squeak in the heel. Shoe have not stretched at all and still feel a bit narrow. Summing up, a decent shoe for putzing around, especially if you have narrow feet (I don't). You get what you pay for, so don't expect them to last long under moderate-to-heavy wear.

I like the retro look, but these shoes don't feel as good as most New Balance do when I'm taking a walk in them. They fit a big snug.

This is not a comfortable running shoe, but more of a casual shoe. The support this shoe offers is minimal, and it constantly feels as if it is going to slip off even though the laces are tied. This is a great shoe for walking or for casual affairs, but definitely not for the recreational or serious jogger.

Nice, comfortable shoes. I wear them almost daily and I have no complaint yet. The upper is part suede and part fabric but no smelly feet. For their price, quality and comfort are very good.

There is something about the left shoe that is incredibly uncomfortable. I can only walk about 4 miles before I can't take it any more. I thought it was the insert, so I replaced it with some Dr. Scholl's ones and somehow it is still an issue. It's like having a lump in the middle of the shoe pressing on your outer arch. I think I'm giving up on them, and I've only worn them a dozen times.

I bought a pair of these elsewhere because they were a better deal, but I felt I'd post a review here. When I first got these I thought they were fantastic, but over the first week I wore them all they did was hurt my feet, my knees and my back. I was in such pain I wanted to throw them out and buy something else. Out of the box they have absolutely no support and aren't the slightest bit comfortable. I couldn't wear them to do simple errands or even go over to a friend's place. Thankfully I followed a previous review's advice and bought a pair of green Superfeet for them, and so far at least they're much better. That said, the look, style and materials are just fine. I just wish I'd known I'd have to buy insoles for them or I wouldn't have bothered. After this I'm staying away from the entire New Balance "classics" line and looking at something else.
