I wasn't able to find brown athletic shoes locally, so I ended up at Zappos. I received the shoes in less time than they said, and at a comparable price as other online places. I liked the no shipping and easy returns policy. The shoes are great-very stable. I need a wider width to accommodate prescription orthotics, and between the shoe and the orthotics, I am quite pleased. Plus the shoes are Gortex and waterproof. I have already looked for other shoes at Zappos.

This shoe was recommended because I wanted a brown tie shoe for walking. I have been very satisfied with this shoe, I even bought another pair.

This shoe is wonderful but just a little two narrow for my foot. I am developing some foot problems and I dare not take a chance that this foot bed will relax enough. It is a great looking shoe and I am sorry it did not work out.

I picked these out of 6 different pairs of hiking shoes to take on my upcoming trip to Africa. They were the most comfortable. They're very comfortable & I like them a lot.

I have wide feet, narrow heel and high arches so I have trouble finding shoes that are comfortable. These are great! There's plenty of room for my toes, but my heel doesn't slip out. I can wear them all day and my feet don't hurt!

I usually wear a 7-1/2 or 8 and the 8 was too small so I got the 8-1/2. Love the shoe! I'm a nurse and on my feet all day so I really appreciate the wonderful support these shoes give me. My only wish is that they came in a lighter brown/tan color.

I have a job requiring a lot of walking. And standing in the rain. These are very comfortable and waterproof.

I love these shoes, they feel like they belong on my feet! I bought them for walking around cobblestoned streets in Europe and can't stop using them on smooth American pavement.

This shoe is great! In a matter of days wearing this shoe while out walking my dog, the pain I had been enduring for months disappeared. In fact, the first time I put these shoes on, they felt wonderful. No time needed to even break them in!

These shoes are great. At first my toe on one foot, hit the end of the shoe but after a short while they wore in and never bothered me again. I wear an orthotic brace on that foot so I'm used to waiting for "wear in" process. These shoes provide good, sturdy support to my walking.

Needed a pair of good-fitting, waterproof, hiking shoes for an upcoming trip. I have plantar fascia, so heel and arch support are crucial. These shoes are wonderful. It fills all the above requirements and are good-looking, too. I've been breaking them in (wearing them all day before my trip in May) but a break-in period is really not needed. My feet feel great even at the end of the day. Love them!

I needed a solid pair of walking/snow/rain shoes for an upcoming vacation to New York and DC and I think these fit the bill! I hate having to wear ugly sneakers with my clothes, but these have a stylish rugged look that I think I can pull off with a great coat and a cute scarf, sweater and jeans. Don't want to look like a tourist! Plus, these are comfy enough to wear out on hikes with my dog back home. There was a small glob of dried glue on one sneaker, just below the lace eyelets, but not a big enough problem to return for a new pair. I got the 7 Wide and they fit just right, although if your foot is super wide they still might be too snug for you (my foot is just slightly wider than most). Overall, a great, fashionable hike/walk shoe!

I always but 1/2 size larger in New Balance shoes than other brands, and taking that into consideration, the fit of these shoes is great. And the removable foot bed allows me to use orthotic inserts. They are comfortable and good looking. Just what I wanted for a wet weather winter walking shoe. And Zappos customer service is the best I've encountered.

My first pair of New Balance shoes. I was reluctant to try them on in the store since New Balance isn't a brand I think of when I want hiking boots. However, I was very pleasantly surprised! They are comfortable, supportive, and stylish! I wish I had owned these shoes when I went backpacking in Europe a few years ago. These are the perfect mix of light hiking boots and stylish neutral color. They are great for hitting the trail and then hitting up a nice restaurant/bar later. The Gore-Tex does make my feet a bit hot, but that's to be expected with any Gore-Tex boot.

Love these shoes. I have arthritis in my feet and these offer great support. I can go shopping without lots of foot pain.

This is my second pair and I will buy another pair when these are used up. I live in the Oregon Outback and need tough shoes. I wear these every day with back support insoles and they are comfortable, supportive and don't show the incredible amount of dust and dirt I walk through. I just brush them off and they are good to go.

This is a very comfortable and supportive shoe, with just the right amount of room for my small but wide foot.

I have purchased Ryka shoes in the past and have been very happy with the quality and fit of the shoe. The shoes I purchase I wear for Jazzercise step class. They are great because they are a mid shoe which gives support for your ankles. I ordered a 12 medium because typically for workout/exercise shoes you need to go up 1/2 to 1 size to allow for movement or your toes and the thickness of your sports socks. In regular street shoes I wear a 11 medium. If you are looking for a shoe for a dance or step class you might find the Ryka Studio D Mid to be the shoe for you.

I love these shoes! Bought my usual size and with thick hiking socks they fit perfectly. Very comfortable, no break in time and good looking. Good for light hiking or just walking around town. Best thing is they are waterproof!

This is a great shoe! It was instantly comfortable. I over-pronate and need an arch support with my wide feet so I am always on the look out for a shoe that feels good but is also good looking and not so clunky. This shoe is more streamlined than most and feels wonderful!

Good choice. This shoe delivers everything its description promises. I purchased just prior to leaving on a trip where I knew I'd do a lot of walking - wore them nearly every day and found them comfortable with good support and stability. With "problem feet," finding shoes is always a challenge and I'm very pleased with these.

I have worn these shoes for three months and have to say that they were worth every penny I spent on them. I originally purchased them to wear while walking the dogs in the wet weather but found that they were excellent for wearing while shoveling the snow we had this winter. They are very warm and keep my feet dry. They are a very stiff shoe which works well when walking on uneven ground. Since I have a wide foot I find New Balance shoes to fit the best of any brand. Normally I wear a size 8, yet in this shoe I found that a 1/2 size smaller seemed to fit better.

I bought these shoes about a month ago and have already had several opportunities to put them to the test. They have passed with flying colors. Besides being extremely comfortable and 100% waterproof, they offer wonderful protection from the elements. The first time I wore them, we were hiking along a creek in 5 degree temps. We were walking on top of the creek on the ice, and I stepped on a thin area, broke through the ice, and was wet up to my knee. Even though my socks were soaked, the shoes somehow kept my feet toasty warm on the 2 mile hike back to the car. Incredible. They offer excellent grip for minimal slippage on wet surfaces. I haven’t done any hikes longer than 7 miles in them, but there have been no signs of rubbing or possible blisters thus far. Besides being extremely functional, these shoes look really cute on my feet. They’d be great for "hiking" around the city in a pair of jeans, too. I would recommend these shoes for hikers of all skill levels.
