This shoe is perfect for wide feet. The toe box is very wide. I ordered a size 10W (my usual size) and it is a little too big. A 9 1/2W would have probably fit better. Overall, I love the shoe and will be order the same one in the future.

Zappos, you rock. I am so glad you have these shoes because you are the best online company out there. It's almost scary how fast your shoes arrive! The 883 is a fantastic shoe for people with wide toes and narrow heels. The shoe is made on the SL2 last. I wish New Balance would make a few more shoes on this last -tennis, cross-training, walking, hiking, etc.!

This is the first time I have purchased the shoe. I have had trouble with my feet and have custom orthotics that need to be used. The line came out easily. The size was true to size. The size 6 1/2 had a wide box at the toe and my inserts fit perfectly. The cushion is great and has helped as I do Jazzercise.

I looked for several weeks to find a pair of running shoes for my 'sensitive' feet. I had always worn New Balance shoes, but couldn't seem to find the correct fit (I needed a SL2 last) and finally found the New Balance 883. These shoes accommodate my orthotics very nicely and I also have plenty of room in the toe box. I've had them a month and so far, they are great! As always, customer service is wonderful at Zappos!

I love New Balance shoes because I have a wide foot and they have wide sizes. These shoes are very sturdy and very comfortable. I got them to wear to the gym, and they really give me the support I need. I usually wear an 8W in New Balance, but that was too big in this shoe, so I exchanged for the 7 1/2 W and it is perfect. (New Balance tells you on its web site which last the shoes are made from, so next time I will know to pay attention to that.)

I have the previous version (882) of NB & they are still in perfectly good condition except dirty & I wanted a pair to wear off. I got the 883 & am very pleased. I have tried many other walking & running shoes & for my somewhat problem feet, these are the best! My only critique would be for NB to add a little more padding at the ball & toes of the shoe. I always get an ee width so I have plenty of toe room. Thank you Zappos for free shipping both ways no matter how many times I have to send shoes back!

These shoes rock! This is my second pair of WR883. Actually, first pair of WR883 but I had the 882\'s for two years and several hundred miles and they\'re practically the same thing. These shoes have the widest toe box on earth. I have squares for feet, so I need some extra room in the toe. The middle of the shoe hugs my foot perfectly so that I don\'t walk on the sides of my feet. The only thing I\'m bummed out about is that the awesome braided/quilted/whatever shoestrings from the 882 have been replaced by a cheaper version in the 883. They come untied a bit more often which can be irritating. Other than that, great shoe and definitely worth the money!

I have had trouble keeping on any type of shoe for more than a couple of hours due to a painful Morton's neuroma. I also have a very flexible foot and the arch falls when I bear weight. This is the only shoe that holds my foot upright. A little more arch support and forefoot padding would be wonderful but this is sufficient enough for me to resume running. This is the best I have found that comes in a narrow width.

I have terribly flat feet & also have to have a lift put on one shoe. Because of that I have lots of shoes in my closet I can't wear. (I try them on in a store, seemed good, had the lift put on and then found out they hurt after a short amount of time.) These are wonderful! After I had the lift put on, I broke them in for a day and then the next 2 days I spent tramping around Chicago without a pain! Great shoes and great company as I can wear them in the house as long as I need to before I decide to get the lift put on. I think this pair was the 5th that I had tried from Zappos before I found the right shoe! This is the only way I will shop for shoes ever again!

I have flat, wide feet with a serious bunion on one foot. Wear orthotics. Have tried many shoes but find this one sturdy, supportive, well cushioned, and accommodates my orthotics. Very comfortable and would buy again.

I have bad feet, Morton's neuroma, high arches etc. Since I bought these shoes, I can walk 12 hours a day with no pain. They are very well cushioned, have a very roomy toe box, and the mesh is nice and cool. Much better than leather. The fit was perfect; bought the usual size I normally buy and was very happy.

I use custom orthotic inserts, so I cannot speak to the arch support, but I thoroughly using these shoes for both running (with the dog) and working out at the gym.

New Balance recommended these to me on their site because I have very wide toe-boxes, my other Nike wides weren't wide enough and were giving me a very painful bunion. After the first week of running in these, no more bunion pain but the ball of my right foot was throbbing. I went to my local running store and they prescribed me some inserts, which have resolved the issue. I also noticed that after wearing my Nike's, these didn't feel as cushioned. Overall though, these shoes are exactly what I need for my very wide feet--I mean I'm an extra wide in other brands and when I put these on, my metatarsal joint didn't even touch the sides of the shoe--normally they rub through. I'm satisfied, but I'm not raving about the shoes, because I had to get inserts to be able to wear them daily.
