My recollection is that MBTs were originally marketed as a shoe to reduce cellulite. I always saw them in the Bliss catalog and figured it was so much hype. On the basis of a personal recommendation, I researched them on Zappos. I purchased the Koshi because the shoe had high ratings, and I wanted a cute, comfortable shoe that differed from my usual Dansko clogs. The "rocker" sole makes walking very comfortable and easy. If the shoe is supposed to provide a workout, I don't get one. Regardless, I enjoy them so much in brown that I'm thinking of purchasing a second pair in black. BTW, I ordered my normal size, but needed to return and reorder a half-size larger. (Thank you Zappos for the free shipping both ways!) I don't know if my feet are growing, or if the shoe runs a tad short. These are pretty expensive, but I'm happy with my investment.

I purchased this brand shoe on a recommendation of a co-worker. I work in a profession where it is not unusual to spend anywhere from 8 to 13 hours a day walking and standing. These shoes are great at absorbing shock from walking on a hard surface. The roll of the sole actually propels you as you walk. The size is true to fit. I found the strap at the back of the shoe to cause a little friction the first 2 days I wore them, but this began well into the 7th hour of my work day and was no longer an issue by the 3rd wear day. My legs are not tired and aching at the end of the day. One day when I was experiencing back pain, I found resolution of the pain 30 minutes after changing into these shoes! Merrells are comfortable for my feet, but MBTs take care of my whole body.

The Koshi is a nice-looking shoe for an MBT. Most leave a lot to be desired in that respect. Although it is very soft and has great cushioning, I am still trying to wear it a little at a time but may be one of those who can't wear this shoe as it gives me serious back and neck pain in a sort time, often a problem for me because of my physical body structure. I have worn Birkenstocks for years and they're wonderful. It looks like I will return. However, I have a friend who now has 3 pairs of MBTs, and has rave reviews on their comfort and alleviation of plantar fasciitis.
