Because these are fitted, they run very small. If you plan to wear a sweater or sweaters under, you'll need to go one or two sizes up. The jacket is great for sailing. The quality is awesome. Buy two!

I bought my jacket specifically for a trip to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Canada. The jacket was everything I wanted, lightweight, comfortable, easy to carry, and wearable over a sweatshirt. I recommend it.

Great jacket! I love the colors and the fact that it is lightweight. It fits over my fleece for cooler days. With all of our rain, I like to have different options, such as this new, cute jacket.

Great sailing jacket. Very lightweight and comfortable, kept me relatively dry in heavy rain. I felt it ran true to size, large worked well for me (usually wear a 10-12 jacket size).

I love my North Face Venture Jacket. I have worn it in both windy and rainy conditions. It was great for both. It is true to size with room to move. I would highly recommend this jacket.

Love this jacket. It's exactly what I was hoping for. Great purple color--eggplant. Light-weight. As a mom on the go with a stroller, I needed something for summer rain so I didn't have to push a stroller while carrying an umbrella, and this was perfect. Plus, the price is right on par with other stores/sites. Go for it! A must-have purchase.

Wore this jacket a few times in the rain now and it works wonderfully! Not intended to be worn when it's cold out as it's mainly a rain coat. But if it's rainy and cold I would suggest wearing something warm under it to help keep you warm! Otherwise I absolutely love this jacket!

Although I am a little disappointed in this jacket becasue as others said it is quite boxy and not very form fitting. Order a size down from what you usually wear because it will be a little big as it is for me. I am 5'2 and 118 lbs and decided on a medium. It is a little too big, bunches up in front because its too big, and arm length is long, and i ahve pretty long arms. Overall, nice quality rain jacket and will be able to layer the jacket with a sweathsirt on cooler days.

I really wish The North Face had some better women's plus size options. I went with the size I would normally get - 2x - and it fits just "ok." I went ahead and kept it, but it is a bit snug. This material does not "give" or stretch. It is a pretty comfortable jacket and keeps me warm out in the cold Indiana weather! I would recommend this jacket, although I feel it is overpriced.

This is a nice lightweight shell I can throw over anything. It's got a much more fitted shape than I was expecting and will keep the rain off really well. I normally am a size 2 in tops so I ordered the XS. It makes for a slim/not-bulky fit but with plenty of room to spare in the middle and the sleeves, and the sleeves are plenty long. I wish it was a little longer overall, though. It hits just above the widest part of my hips and I have a pretty short torso, so if you want more length go up a size. One thing that bothers me a bit is the velcro strips along the zipper. I've already snagged one sweater a few times--it's going to take me awhile to remember it's there. I ordered the Weimaran brown which is an awesome grey-brown color. It's a perfect neutral and a great alternative to the standard black.

I was really disappointed when I received this jacket and realized that the pockets are nothing more than mesh. Like when you have your hand in your pocket and look inside your jacket, you see your hand. I wasn't expecting the jacket to be any more than a windbreaker and rain repellent, but my hands were freezing. I've decided to go for the Patagonia Torrentshell instead. It's longer (for my long torso), more feminine in the fit and has real pockets.

Waterproof and windproof. Can be layered over a hoody. Not very form-fitting. Hood is functional and works well. Good for Pacific Northwest weather.

This is a great rain jacket - wonderfully waterproof, comfortable, easy to wear, great features, etc. What it is not , is breathable as claimed! In my 3-mile fast walk, I get very sweaty on the hills, and that moisture is held pretty much on my skin. So, going down hill is cold! If the pit zips are what they meant by "breathable", that helps, but the fabric is definitely not! That said, I like the jacket, but need to get a shirt that wicks the moisture away - I was spoiled by my 8-year-old Helly Hansen waterproof jacket that really was also breathable.

If you're looking for a warm, insulated jacket, this is the wrong one. This is good for a morning when you could really just use a sweater. It's too thin, paper thin, I'm not exaggerating when I say it's paper thin. It really is.

The fit was great, but the fabric felt thin. Not what I was looking for as it gets colder outside.

I ordered this is an L and a XL in order to choose what size fit me best. The jacket was a lovely color and seemed good quality except for the lining. It felt like having a plastic bag next to my skin. My husband felt it and described it as "old kiddie pool" plastic. So back they both went. I was disappointed but I do "get" that this jacket is way less expensive than other North Face products. So I guess, in this case, you get what you pay for.

I will be returning this product. Extremely disappointed. First North Face product that I feel is inferior in quality. Stylish, but very lightweight. Rattles like paper with the slightest movement. Would be extremely distracting for students if worn in the classroom, for which the purchase was made.
