Definitely felt 1/2 a size to 1 full size smaller (I had to send back for new sizes twice -- went from 9.5 to 10.5). But seriously, these shoes are so comfortable. It's not even fair that you're wearing sandals and sneakers at the same time. The only con is that they won't stay in stock.

I purchased these for a trip to Spain that included a lot of walking and much of it on trails or uneven ground. I am very pleased with these sandals - they are my first Keen purchase. I have owned similar sandals in the past and I find these to be very comfortable. I experienced no pain even on very long walks and also was pleasantly surprised to find the traction was quite good. The only thing I don't love about them is sometimes I feel like my foot is a bit exposed in the back - it sort of feels like it's hanging off the edge just a little - although it's actually not at all. I have found that if I put my foot a little further inside the sandal when initially putting them on - this is not a problem.

I always love Keens, These are much lighter in weight than my original ones so they're especially nice in hot weather. They fit just right and the colors are great.

Great shoe. Two years ago (I was 65) I bought a pair to wear in the Galapagos. For two weeks I hiked in them over rocks, dirt & sand I climbed in and out of boats & slogged through salt water. I lived in these sandals. To my amazement, my feet never tired and I got no blisters or callouses. I have been wearing these shoes for 2 years. They still look like new & are my most comfortable sandal so I'm back to buy another pair.

I bought these shoes primarily to wear at work, but also with the hope that I can use them for exercise and outdoor activities. I really wanted to break my Croc addiction! I'm a small animal veterinarian, so it's not uncommon to stay on my feet for long hours or stand in one place for long periods (surgery). They're wonderful! My feet don't feel tired after a long day when I wear them. It did take a couple of weeks to get used to them, because they rubbed my pinky toes uncomfortably at first. They're most comfortable with little footie socks, as my toes do tend to sweat a little bit without. They're very comfortable to exercise in. My only real complaint is that I spend a lot of time kneeling on top of one foot at work, and the little plastic clasp isn't comfortable to sit on top of. Not a big deal - I leave the binding loose and push the plastic to the side when I kneel. I'd definitely buy these shoes again, and I'm planning to get something similar for my husband soon, too. I get tons of compliments on them, and many of my co-workers say they want some now, too. The yellow color is adorable!

Loved that I could find these in my size! I receive compliments every time I wear them!

These are my first pair of Keen sandals, and they are awesome. The support provided in sole makes me feel like I have walking shoes on! I wear all day at work (where I stand a lot), and am amazed at how great the support is, and the comfort. I picked this sandal because the adjustable elastic cord which tightens/loosens fit on front of sandal also goes around the ankle also, which makes it fit well even on me, since I normally wear a narrow. I am highly impressed with these Keen's - well worth the cost. They are also machine washable!

Love my new "Whispers". It's like walking on air. Also love the colors available -- I got the bright yellow and feel it's a fashion statement.

They feel as though you are going barefoot. I loved these shoes so much I ordered a pair for my mother.

This is a great shoe. I'm 65+ and we're starting recreational kayaking. I got this shoe for the water but it's great on land too. So comfy it feels like you're barefoot.

These are great! Very comfortable. I walked in these and felt like they had already been broken in. Zappos was great about shipping a new pair when the first pair felt too small. I would highly recommend these!

I use the Keen Whisper for walking in the summer because it is cooler than a traditional sneaker with socks.

Love these Keens. Comfortable from the first wearing. They make a great walking shoe and I am particular about those kind of shoes. I wear mine all the time. A good shoe for going from spring to summer.

Nice shoe overall, very comfortable for walking on cobblestones. The fit is a little different than the Newport H2, though; the same numerical size feels larger in this shoe.

One of the best shoes I have ever owned. Also ordering from Zappos is easy and convenient. Even if you have to return an item for a different size their service is outstanding.

Great right out of the box! Took 'em out of the box and wore them during a long walk through Manhattan (about 70 blocks) without any issues. I wear an 11SS and I was able to adjust these so they are comfy and don't wiggle around. That is not an easy feat!

I love the shoe. Others have noted that your heel hung over the back a bit. I noticed this as well, but after wearing the shoe a few times, the upper relaxed and that is no longer the case. I really like the shoe!

Update to my last review: When walking around the house in the Keen Whisper I discovered that the heel of my larger foot, that only just fit in the shoe, kept sliding over and hanging off the edge and it was most uncomfortable due to the ridge at the back. So unfortunately am having to return these. Am so bummed. Wish they made an 11 1/2.

This is a nice shoe but it runs a little small. I ordered a 10 1/2 (after wearing size 10s for many years) because of other reviewers remarks. It fits fine but I like to wear footie socks and they need to be thin in order to get them on with this shoe.

Fit 1 size too small I think. The 11 are almost too small in length for my bigger foot, but fit my other foot perfectly. I normally take a 10 1/2. They are comfortable and I plan on wearing them for walking. Yeah, finally found a pair that I can keep.

My summer "go to" shoe. Cute, comfortable, washable. Fit is true to size with moderate arch support. The only downside...striped tan marks on my feet after spending all day at JazzFest. As usual, Zappos customer service rocked!

Overall, I adore these shoes. I wore them for the first time on a trip to Disneyworld. This usually spells disaster, since most shoes have a breaking in period, but these were wonderful. Cool and comfortable and more than up to taking on the water ride. They're also super easy to get on and off, which I love because I don't like lacing up all sorts of things. I did have to buy a size up (8 1/2 - 9) because my heel was hanging off the edge a little. Even in the 9, it sort of feels like my foot is farther back than it should be. It doesn't make them less comfortable, but it's a weird sensation. I got used to it after a while.

I bought these shoes (becuase of the water aerobics instructor's review) for our honeymoon in Hawaii. I wore them in the water, on a boat, and hiking in the national park. The rough sand did hurt a bit when it got in the shoes, but they're sandals so nothing to be done about that. For fine sand, I think they would work. They were outstanding on the boat - no slipping when wet. For hiking they worked great - very comfortable. You can feel a little more of the ground than I'm used to, but walking on the rough lava rock didn't hurt. I wore sock so my feet wouldn't get cold and after the six hour hike my feet felt fine. I also wore them on the 12 hour trip home. My legs swelled but the shoes never felt uncomfortable. I usually wear an 8.5 and they felt just right. Also, my husband overheard someone in the hotel elevator who was jealous of the purple color.

Very comfortable. Easy to slip on and off. I've had similar shoes before that were difficult to get on and off. The size runs a bit small.

Fantastic shoes, right out of the box I wore them 8 hours, and they felt like "old friends." True to size, great arches. Love them. This is my 6th pair of Keens, and they get better and better with every style.
