After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to purchase Keen's Whisper sandals to replace my Owyhee sandals. I normally wear an 8 in Keens, but some reviewers advised to order half a size up. The 8s fit me perfectly. The 8.5s didn't seem to have much more length than the 8s but they had more width in the toe box, which I don't need. The teal in the Dark Shadow/Ceramic Gray color is more vibrant in person than in the photo online. I also like that the straps don't rub against my pinky toe like the Owyhee's did, and the elastic lacing system is back. I wanted something slightly less "clunky/bulky" than the Newport H2's and the Whispers fit that bill perfectly.

My go to adventure shoe! I absolutely love them once on. Getting them on can be a challenge sometimes

I have another pair of Whisper Keens. I always order a 1/2 size up and they fit perfect. Love these shoes; I wear them in the winter with socks (not in the snow) and of course, all the rest of the year. They are lighter than some of the other Keens and I love the toe guard.

I have duck feet: they're medium width at the toes, but narrow width at the heel. Finding shoes that will stay snugly on the back of my foot while not squishing my toes is a challenge. But the way these Keen Whisper sandals are made is PERFECT for my feet, though the sole of the sandal is properly a medium width all the way though. It's the way the shoe hugs my foot that makes it work so well. I also dislike regular closed shoes because my feet tend to overheat and swell. Air-vented sandals like these help mitigate that problem. I live in a mild climate, so I can wear them year-round. And yes, that means committing the fashion sin of wearing sandals with socks in the winter. Such is life. :) Upshot: I like these shoes so much I bought another pair in a different color. Wonderful things.

I read all the reviews on my Keens sandals and also have a friend who has them and loves them, so I decided to give it a try as we were going to Hawaii. I ordered size 6 and 6 1/2 (as reviews stated they may run small)...the size 6 fit perfect. I wore them around to really get a feel for them before our vacation and it was liking walking on clouds!!! Ended up that they were the only shoes/sandals I wore for 10 days and LOVED THEM!!! No breaking in period, no rubbing, or blisters. I highly recommend these Keen Whisper Sandals!

Needed something to wear in the water and to hike in. These were so comfortable the very first time I put them on! Wasn't sure I would like the color, however I love them!!

Love me some Keens! A long time fan, I always order that 1/2 size up & they fit great! I have had a number of foot surgeries, (my left ankle is fused) and fitting is frustrating, this model Keen is great straight out of the box. I have had issues with others that don't have stretch in the ankle because mine fluctuates in size wildly. These have comfortable stretch & the bungee closure is a great feature, too!

I have a very wide foot and problems with my joints at the big toe. Keen brand shoes fit me so well. I wear a women's size 10 and the Keen size 10 works for me 95% of the time. I own 10 different styles of Keen shoes. These shoes fit great. The color choices make it fun to have shoes that look good. I am outside most of the time and spend a lot of time in Costa Rica. These shoes are very sturdy for walking on the rocks at low tide and hiking around the waterfalls. Thankful for the Keen brand enabling me to have comfortable, stylish shoes.

I love Keen shoes. And I love these shoes. They can get wet and still are rugged enough to wear outside when working. Plus they are wide enough for my foot. Normally I wear a wide, but not in Keens.

I find Keens generally run a little smaller than I like so I went a half size larger. And I live in a cold climate so also wear socks with the sandals in cold weather. This is a new purchase so I haven't done more than just try them on and walk around the house, but I like the fit, like the look and find them comfortable.

The perfect shoe for outdoor water activities. Lightweight with good toe protection. Great for hiking. More comfortable than sneakers!

I bought them for gardening because they're waterproof & the soles look like a better grip than my crocs. I really like the color combo & the best part is that they make my huge fat size 7.5 feet (I'm 4'11" so they should be a size 4) look small and delicate. I can even wear not too thick socks comfortably with them.

Bought these one size larger than my normal shoe size and they fit perfectly. they are comfy with no rubbing anywhere. I only wore these shoes to the beach and into the water. I am not sure they would be something to wear on a serious hiking trip. They are called Whisper for a reason - not too sturdy for hiking with little arch support. If you are looking for a shoe that is light and easy to get on/off for walking into the water this shoe is great!

Like most Keens...these were instantly comfortable and well suited for travel and trekking over uneven surfaces...I'm using these for trips to Israel and Africa in the Spring...they will be the mainstay of my footwear for those journeys. Comfortable with. And without socks, this style is not excessively wide, not heavy and you can't beat the great Keen toe guard when scrmbling over rocks. I love them.

These are wonderful. I used them as water shoes climbing Dunn's River Falls and for walking. They had excellent grip and didn't leave my toes exposed. There was no slipping around in these shoes! Best part is you can throw them in the wash. Definitely order a half size up. I wear my same size in Keen that I wear in Nike.

My whole family wears Keens all year long (we live in MN and live in our hiking boots in the winter too)...we love them. So comfortable and they last forever! I bought these for my mom. The size was exact. She has a high arch and the flexibility Keens give with the laced top works great! The color is even more gorgeous in person! These are a must have!

I needed a beige water shoe with the great stability of a Keen. (I have several other pairs and know their quality). I wear between an 8.5 and 9, but 8.5 is perfect in the Whisper, however, this shoe in person is a deep chocolate brown all over, not just the trim as pictured-sorry, it has to go back-thanks, Zappo for making it so easy!

I got these for my wife a little ago and after one summer of use, she preferred these over the Newport H2 that she had in the past. Can't beat the sale that Zappos has right now as well so she will try to pick out one different color before the sale is gone.

Not sure what the difference between this style and the Newport H2 but the two are pretty comparable. If you like one, you will like the other. This one is just a little less expensive than the Newport H2.

Love these shoes! Everyone on my Galápagos trip had them, but me. They offered in fun colors. Enjoy!

I've worn keens for about 10 years now, including daily for several years while working in outdoor education. Keen sandals are great because they combine the benefits of sandals with the safety and security of a closed-toe shoe. I prefer the whisper to the newport because of the smaller toe box, narrower profile and stretchier materials. These are often on my Christmas wish list and I love getting a new color each time.

This shoe is comfortable right out of the box. Bought this for vacation to Hawaii in January. Perfect.

I bought these for a trip to Hawaii. I usually wear an 8.5 W, so I searched a lot to find a pair that would be comfortable, wide enough and with good toe protection. I found very few water shoes made for wide widths specifically. I ordered these and the Keen's Venice H2s to compare. The Venice H2 fit was similar, but they felt more narrow and more snug in the toe box. They were also more "open," although there was good toe protection. They were not as comfortable overall and had less support. The Whispers are among the most comfortable walking shoes I've ever worn, and there was no "break-in" period. I've been wearing them everyday and will for as long as the weather holds out! They grip well and are flexible and comfortable on all sorts of surfaces. They're not as open as other sandals/water shoes I saw, but I prefer that, especially for walking and being in the water in Hawaii. I haven't tried them in water yet, but I'm sure they'll be fine. The width feels between a medium and wide width, so if your feet aren't a "pure" wide width, these should work. These shoes are great for much more than just "water shoes."
