As a long-time wearer of Keens, I find the Whisper to be up to its expected standards, although I wish the strap on the outside didn't extend quite so high. It rubs both ankle bones. All in all, though, I highly recommend them.

I can't say enough great things about these shoes. I figured I would just wear them on bike rides and walks, but I wear them everywhere! They are so comfortable! I have bad back problems and these are the only shoes I have found that relieve my aches and pains! (All brands including Nike, etc don't even do the job!) And I love that these shoes allow my feet to breathe since they get hot so easily! Very well made! But as everyone else said, they definitely run 1/2 size small!

I just bought a pair of these. Last year I bought my first and only pair of Keens: the Napa boot - now discontinued. I love 'em! And wanted more Keens. I wasn't exactly looking for sandals, but after an almost cigar pair of other style sandals, decided to try these on. I have wide feet and long little toes. They looked narrow and didn't look like they'd have much arch support. Comparing them to the other style, they were a better overall fit. More straps and I am the kind who needs a shoe, boot or sandal that's strapped on or I will lose it, or it will flop around, or I’ll slide off. I wasn't 100% sure but when I found out the store only gets one pair of each size I knew I had to buy them or they'd be gone the first day the sun came out (yesterday). I am loving them! I've been wearing them indoors with socks instead of mocs or slippers. They seem to be providing more support than I expected, are soft and comfy, and very flexible. Sort of like a barefoot shoe if that makes any sense. "Whisper" is a perfect name for them. The acid test will be how much support they provide in the concrete jungle. Even if they aren't good on concrete, they'll get worn a lot. They’ll be my #1 sandal and my North Face ones will be downgraded. They smell anyway. These fit my wide "pancake" feet well. They make my feet look much longer and narrower than they are. When I look at them, it's like my feet aren't my feet, yet they feel almost like they are made for me. Before I bought them I realized that in the event that the heel is too loose (it isn't specifically adjustable) a person could stitch a tuck in the ribbon that goes through the heel and thus tighten the back of the heel. What other kinds of shoes are "alterable" at home? They got me. Now... if they come in another colour I like and/or if I can get them on the internet (Zappos Canada doesn't appear to sell Keens), I might buy another pair of them. They are keepers and, like other faves, will eventually wear out. Keen seems to change styles a lot. Cheers to happy summer feet.
I'd also recommend:
North Face... similar to these keens = softer soles than most sandals. I don\'t like hard soles.

I was excited to bit these shoes as Kern doesn't always have a lot in size 5.5. and for the first 2 months I loved them: they are good for short hikes or walks and are good for wading across a creek or shallow river. However, less than 4 months after purchase they started falling apart, both shoes in the same.place. Zappos being amazing is working with me on this, so we will see how the second pair work out and I might update this review.

My last pair of Whispers was an 8.5 and although they seemed just fine and didn't need adjustment, after a few years of wearing them, I tightened the cords to snug them up a little and it pulled my foot toward the heel (exactly where it should've been) so I had way too much toe room and then they felt like they were too big. So I tried an 8 this time, my usual size (I have wide feet-with bunions) and they are perfect. I love, love, love these shoes, this pair and the last one both-so comfortable right out of the box. I wear them everywhere, almost year round. I love being able to walk right through the creeks when hiking and not have to stop and change shoes. And the toe guard keeps the little rocks out. They are just as comfortable wet as they are dry. When they get too dirty you just throw them in the washer, and set them out to dry, which happens fast! My first pair was 5-6 years old, were worn a lot and were not worn out at all except for the tread on the bottom was getting a bit thin for good traction, I gave them to charity only because they ultimately were just too big for me.

These sandals are fantastic for my slight and narrow feet. I ordered them even though they were B width because I really needed a water sandal and because some of the reviewers said it worked for narrow feet. I couldn’t be happier. The elastic laces hold my foot snugly, and the shoes don’t slip or rub. Love them so much I’m wearing them with socks and jeans in cool spring temperatures. I can recommend these highly enough, and I'm thinking about buying a second pair in a different color.

Love these! I resisted buying sport sandals because I thought they might be too goofy looking, but these are not only nice in appearance (I bought the Nile green/grey), they are so comfortable I don't know how I've lived without them. Super lightweight and supportive, you can easily forget you're wearing anything. Wore them on vacation hiking right out the box, no break-in period. For reference, I'm usually a 7 1/2, and while I could have gone with that size, the 8 offered a bit more wiggle room. I have a narrow foot, and these were easy to adjust to the correct fit.

Love, Love this sandal! Though I had to send mine back and get a full size larger, I do love them. They are narrow, which is good for my skinny foot. They are not heavy and bulky like original keen. This is my first pair of keens and probably not my last. I usually wear 8 sometimes 8.5. I found with 8,8.5 my foot hung off the heel pad in the back and it was not very comfortable. I tried on the 9 and Yes that's my size. My foot fit completely in the foot bed and I just tightened the straps a little and it fit great.

I was looking for a comfortable, knocking around shoe that was light weight and comfortable. This shoe really fits the bill. It looks cute with all kinds of clothes. Where I live tends to be wet and muddy this time of year, and this shoe keeps my feet a little higher off the ground than most shoes. The purple color seems to go with everything, too.

These run 1/2 size smaller than the Venice h2. My Venice h2 pair was 9.5 and needed to buy 10 for these. I'm pretty flat footed and mildly overpronate. So far I wore them out of the box for a 5 mile walk with no blisters but they did rub oddly on base of heels. Over the past week, that has diminished on daily walks. They do trap pebbles in them just like previous keens but that's expected with the enclosed nature of covered toe sandals. Rainbow tie dye color is vibrant and matches loads of clothes. Overall another good buy from keen.

We took our sandals for a quick hike to test these out and they are perfect. Very comfortable , had enough grip and waterproof for those hikes that passes through rivers and waterfalls. Very easy to clean as well. Wash and dry and now it’s ready for our Hawaii trip.

Love these shoes. Super comfy and durable. The high rubber toe box helps when scrambling over rocks or in a river, unlike Teva sandals where your foot is really exposed. Great for hiking in warm weather. The bottoms are grippy enough. I have narrow feet and the bungees do help to keep my feet secure. Only very minor issues. First, these shoes scoop up dry sand like crazy - it's almost impossible to walk on a beach without taking it all with you. Second, you will get the funkiest looking tan lines on your feet. I usually get blisters just thinking about them, but never got any with these. So happy with this purchase.

These Keen Whisper sandals are great! I forget I have them on sometimes, as they're so comfortable. I love the toe protector, it's saved me several times from a few stubs! I usually wear mine with thin cotton ankle socks in bright Summer colors that always match my shirt, and I get a lot of compliments about how coordinated I look. One thing I noticed is that these run small, even without the socks. I normally wear a 6.5 or 7 sandal, but in the Keens, I wear a 7.5. What I did was try some on at a nearby store that didn't have the color I wanted, then decided I couldn't wait for them to get some in stock, (several weeks) and since I knew my size, I ordered them from my favorite online store: Zappos! They arrived within 48 hours, and I've worn them almost every day since. Not planning to get them wet even though they're waterproof ~ they're much too nice! I got the Coffee Liqueur/ Yellow color because they were the most neutral, and go with Everything. Get a pretty brown purse, and you'll look chic. I'd like to get some more Keen Whisper sandals asap, probably the black ones, as I have a lot of black purses!

This shoe is quite comfortable and very much as described. It looks like it is a quality sandal. The fit seems true to size, but I wouldn't have wanted it any smaller. One review said they stretch a little and that would be fine, too. If you can't decide between two sizes I would recommend the larger size. With free shipping and returns you can't go wrong.

I love to walk and need special shoes just to do so. I was using Teva sandals. Great shoes - don't get me wrong but these are amazing. I not only love the way they look but they feel amazing as well. Definitely recommend them to anyone who walks a lot - and for exercise too!

Buy 1/2 size larger than your normal size. I bought these as wet, dry, walk all day sandals for my trip to Puerto Rico. We are very active with hiking and kayaking, etc. They worked perfectly. They are not the prettiest shoes you will buy, but they may be the most comfortable!

These are the most comfortable shoes ever. I ordered half a size larger which I think made the difference because my mom has the same shoes and she says her pinky toe sticks out and they are really uncomfortable. I also love that they will not fall off. I went swimming in the ocean with no problems at all. I love these! The red ones are really cute too!

These sandals are cute and comfy. I have narrow feet and I did like how I could just adjust the width for a snug fit. That is a huge problem I have with most sandals. They may adjust, but not enough to fit properly. I ordered the green and I just love them. This my first pair of keens. I usually wear and 8 sometimes if things are made small an 8.5, but I believe these fit true to size.

I like this style better than some of the other “ water shoes”. It has a slightly narrower profile than most Keens. They worked well in the water and are very comfortable. My only negative is my expectation that they would be good on trails going to water or on light hikes in hot weather. The soles look like they should have good grip/ traction, but don’t feel secure when the dirt or rocks are wet. The shoes are not good at gripping and quite slippery. I’m generally happy but will use more cautiously than I would like.

These are the most comfortable and durable shoes I have ever owned. I'm on my 3rd pair now, and nothing else I've tried in the last several years even comes close. They can handle sand, water, mud, etc., with no ill effects, are breathable in hot weather and sturdy enough for walking on cobblestones or any hard surface. I can wear them all day every day and they feel great. If you are planning a trip with a lot of walking these shoes would be perfect.

I normally wear 7.5 or 8 and the 8 was too big but the 7.5 fit perfectly (that said, in Keen's Rose sandal I have size 8 that fits perfectly as well).
