I bought these after having leather Keen open-toes sandals for years but they got old, but I loved them. These are quite different though - closed toes, lighter, rubber sole. They are fine, but seem to me little on the pricey side and what quite surprised me they are very slippery on wet rocks which I would not expect from a hiking brand like Keen. Giving 4* and I miss my old ones.

As a bicycle tour guide, Keen Newport sandals are part of my uniform. I bought this model for a vacation that involved a lot of walking & biking. They were comfortable day after day after day. I like that they are less bulky than the Newports & don't have the ridge behind the toe. These have the perfect amount of toe coverage -- enough to protect, the increased toe coverage on the Newports tends to trip me when I run. The size 11 fits my AAA foot well. The only drawback is the lack of arch support. I'm very happy to add these to my new summer uniform.

I like the look and feel of these shoes. I seem to get less debris inside the shoes than in my last pair owing to the different design. The one thing I don't like is that they don't just slide on and off easily. I was hoping to find a pair of shoes that I could quickly don to go out and walk the dog and come back. My other Keen sandals fit the bill. These, because they come up a little higher on the ankle, leave me hopping around in the hallway, struggling to find the loop at the back to pull them onto my feet. They're good, but not as convenient to slip on as other Keen styles.

I have a very narrow heel, and shallow foot so most shoes do not fit. This one does! The bindings that cross the top of the foot are a little stiff...I am breaking them in, my foot and heel fit perfectly and the adjustable cord gives me options for loosening and tightening. They are lightweight and balanced well.

I love them! I had a similar pair for many years and finally wore through the soles. These have a good fit for me, snug and supportive around the arch of my foot but plenty of room in the toe. Follow the size guide.

I have mixed feelings about these shoes. I tried a 6 on in the store, but ordered it online because it was cheaper. When I got the 6, it was too small so had to re-order a size 6.5. When I received the 6.5, the webbing on one foot was wider than the other foot so I had my little toe sticking out on one shoe, but not the other. So, had to re-order another pair and return the first 2 pairs. It was slightly more even so I ended up keeping the 3rd pair. My husband has these shoes and loves them, so I thought it'd be nice to have a pair for myself for outdoor water activities. I've worn them a couple times and like them so far, but was just annoyed that I had to order 3 pairs to get 1 pair to fit.

After reading reviews, I ordered both my normal size (7M) and a half size bigger (7.5M). My regular size was plenty big, I am not sure why so many people advise to size up. I have hesitated to buy Keen sandals for myself in the past (I buy them for my kiddos) because they always look so bulky. The whispers are definitely more streamlined and airy, yet still very comfortable. I am hoping they will be my go-to shoe for spring and summer for bike rides, going to parks, playgrounds, fairs, etc.

This is my second pair of Keen sandals and love how they fit. I really like the Whisper style which is much lighter than my first pair I bought years ago. However, I chose the Bluestone/Neutral Gray color and do not like the color combination. The two blue colors on the shoe totally clash in my opinion. In the online picture they look great, but in real life I don't care for them at all. I'm disappointed to have to pay over $6 to return these shoes simply because I don't like the colors. Seems unfair to have to pay return shipping when the product didn't meet my expectations. I have a retail store that I have gone to, but it is a 40 minute drive away. Not exactly convenient. So I will return my Keen's via UPS, but the return policy makes me hesitant to order things online again from L.L.Bean. Had the color and return policy been better I would have rated these shoes five stars.

I bought these sandals to use on a trip to Costa Rica where there would be many water-related activities. I found the fit was true to size, and they were comfortable in a range of activities - both around town, on the beach, and on hiking trails. My only complaint is that the rubber outsoles were not as slip-resistant as I would have hoped; I had a couple unexpected small sips in wet conditions. Otherwise, these are great sandals.

These sandals are feather light and have good tread on the bottom. They felt a little tight across the top of my foot at first, but I loosened up the strap and walked around in them for a couple of hours and they feel fine now.

Comfortable with good support. The color appears to be light grey with purple but it turned out to be beige & purple, not as attractive. I kept it because of its comfort.

Bought the shoe for a trip to Costa Rica for light hiking and water activities. I thought I could get more wear out of them except I found that they make my feet sweaty. They get too hot for casual wear. And they got fairly stinky in the humid weather. However, they do have good traction and are very versatile for water and mud etc.

These shoes are very comfortable and sturdy. Great for walking. I usually wear a size 9, but followed the advice of other reviewers and ordered a size 9.5, which was just right.

Love Keens. This model fits more closely than others I've had but that's okay. It's still a Keen at a great price!

I've been unable to wear Keens in the past because my feet are very narrow. I can actually pull these tight enough to fit! I bought them for a trip that requires water landings from a boat. The trip isn't until the spring but I wanted to break them in while the weather was still warm. They are reasonably comfortable though not as comfortable as sandals with bare feet. But they are fun and cute to wear around.

I ordered these to use in the water for my upcoming Bahamas vacation. I was hesitant at the price but had coupon dollars and 15% off so I went for it. I typically take an 8 to 8.5 so I ordered the 8.5...The fit could be a tiny bit longer, but I think the 9 would be too big. Besides the arch in the shoe is perfect and the toes are fine. Just the heel seems like it is too short, but does not look it in the mirror. 4 stars since I wont use them really until next April so I can't comment on durability or water wear. I had teva sandals prior that rubbed on my ankle and combined with Marthas Vineyard sandy feet caused painful adventures and ankle booboos. I hope these will not do that. I got the bouganvilla color and it is just awesome. I saw the shoes in the box when I opened it and thought 'oh how cute for my size foot!'. The price at Beans was comparable at other online stores for this color. So with coupon and 15% off I could not pass it up (plus Beans awesome return policy). Just go for it and get them now in the fall when they have a good size selection!

Of the 5 pairs of Keens I have these are my least favorite. Got them in color bluestone reasoning they'd go well with denim. They're a little brighter than most denims, but not bad. They're also narrower than any Keens I'm used to and fit more snugly, but by no means are they uncomfortable, when I'm wearing them I forget about my feet because they feel good. I just find them not very attractive on me. The straps come right up the top of my foot to the ankle and choke off my not-so-slim legs. I prefer Keen Venice which doesn't cover so much of my foot with straps. Being a little wider and having a more anatomical footbed makes Venice even more comfortable than Whisper, IMO. I know everyone's feet are different, but my size is 8.5 M. I've never had to adjust up or down to get Keen to fit correctly, so I would suggest if you're new to the brand to start with your true size.

The Whisper didn't work for me. I love my Keen Venice and thought I'd try these because they are a bit slimmer and lighter and I liked the color (orange). Ordered the same size (7.5), but the Whisper straps didn't feel good along the outside of my foot and around my little toe, and also, the heel strap felt a bit low on the back of my foot, like it wouldn't be secure. Tightening the strap only made the shoe more uncomfortable elsewhere. Got an new pair of Venice in the same shipment, and they felt as good as expected right outside the box. The Whisper is probably better for a narrower foot.

Great for Summer Fun. Found to run narrow and long but all in all a great swimming and playing shoe for all day fun. Good grip for the boat and the rocks, don't have to carry 2 pair of shoes any more.

I kept these and like them, but I did have one issue with the fit. There is something about the shoe's upper structure that seems to push my foot towards the back a bit. I thought they were a 1/2 too small when I got them, so I ordered a 1/2 larger. Same problem, but then, I had a lot of excess shoe in the front. So I went back to the size I first ordered. I gave some thought to not keeping them at all. But I do like them, they are generally comfortable, and I love the light weight and good looks. I am adjusting to the fact that my foot feels a bit too far back, but not so much so that I can't wear them and be satisfied with them. So, I give them four stars overall.

I usually wear an 8.5/9 so ordered a 9, but they were way too big. My big toe does not even reach the base of the toe cap. These do not feel like they have the structure for heavy duty use, just walking around. Wish that Zappos had a way to choose a shoe by the type of use you wish, rather than just by name of style.

If you have narrow feet, read this review. I have narrow feet and have a very difficult time finding sandals, in particular. In the past, I had tried on Keen sandals and they were entirely too wide for me, felt like "Side Show Bob" shoes from The Simpsons cartoon. An employee at a store recommended the Keen Whisper, she said that it was much more narrow than other sandal designs in Keen's past. I tried on the Whisper and the Clearwater design. The Clearwater is the sandal for anyone that has a narrow, thin and hard to fit foot, but I liked the Whisper so much, it looks almost "Greek" style. My husband thinks they look cool too. The store didn't have my size, so I ordered them on Zappos. There is a fall color selection for Keen Whisper; I chose the Brindle/Regal Orchid Keen Whispers in an 8.5. The Brindle color is a stony-tan color, and the Regal Orchid gives it a slight lavender color-pop without being obnoxious. Keen typically runs 1/2 size too small; I used to wear an 8 and sometimes 8.5, but the size 9 Keen footbed fit slightly better. But my foot is so thin and narrow, the size 9 couldn't pull tight enough around my ankle. There is a design flaw in the pull string lacing and the position of the lacing-loops at the ankles, it doesn't feed through the tongue-loop at the top. My husband pointed this out, and so we fed the pull string lacing through the tongue-loop and then the ankle lacing-loops, it solved some "fitting" problems around the top of my foot and ankle, looked better too. My foot fits very snugly in the 8.5, and I pull the lacing string until the ankle lacing-loops are almost touching. I had to get used to the physical harshness of the design of the top of the sandals on the tops of my feet, and they buckle ever-so-slightly at the top because I have to pull them so tight for my narrow foot. I have not experienced any blistering or soreness from these sandals. Very comfortable footbed. Moderate arch support. If I had "normal" width feet, I would have chosen the size 9, and I would be saying these were the best sandals, ever. I must have bought and returned 8 pairs of sandals a couple of years ago, and still ended up sandal-less; hope this helps.

I have 4 pairs of Keen Venice - yep, I'm a fervent follower. I decide to try the Whisper - something different and they looked airier, and airflow is supremely important in Texas. They came, I loved 'em...but when on a hill I slide out of the back of them. They are in no way as stable as the Venice. I have balance problems, so this was a big negative. I emailed Zappos. Whispers go back and I'll spend the money on another pair of my old stanbys, Keen Venice. Zappos is awesome - they actually walk their talk. Customer is queen. I want to and will tell everyone to buy here. They will make you glad you did.

This is a very sexy sandal! Get tons of compliments on their looks. I will tell you that there is not much arch support in these like there is in the shoe line. And since you wear these with bare feet, it's not like you can slip an insert in. I can't walk in them all day, but I do like them. Construction is good, and I think they will last many years!
