Excellent product, it fits me well. I tried other brands, but this one feels just like home. It haves a good ankle support, good lacing system, good water resistance. They're very good for use at backpacking, in the city winter, and in any other terrain type, if you don't mind the fact that you wear boots. They're bad point is at driving, better naked feet than with them, are very wide and you can depress the throttle and brake in the same time with one foot, happened to me in my Citroen C2.

Really cool boots! I returned the first pair (another boot style) because they were a bit too big and my size was not available in the returned boot...both Salomon. This style was a bit pricier, but also clearly better. Return service by Zappos and their replacement speed is quite something. Thank you.

These are excellent boots! They are light and comfortable with great support. I wear them daily. I do not understand what all the sizing issues are with these shoes. Everyone builds shoes that will either fit you or not. Salomon and Merrel fit me perfect in a 14. So that is all I buy. They are pretty simple.

These boots are awesome. They are tough yet comfortable. Ive had them submerged in mud puddles, streams, rivers, slush and snow and they have kept my feet perfectly dry.

Great for Backpack Hiking. Didn't even have to break them in. I wore them for 1/2 half a day prior to a 35 mile hike and my feet felt great with no blisters. I recommend the shoes for avid hikers.

Great out of the box feel for my size 8 W. Nice round toe box but minimal arch support. Nice higher than average, very comfortable ankle support, great heel cup. No break-in. I couldn't help but want to jog when I put these to my local trail. I'm excited about this boot for my next excursion to the Continental Divide. Flexy under 50lbs of gear, but I think I might like that when I hit the trail. Vibram soles would complete and compliment this already nice boot. I'll give an update after my 5 day Rocky Mountain hump. Cheers.

Wow, what great boots! After my 15 year old Asolos suffered from a little dry rot, I chose these boots partially because they were one of Outdoor magazine's Picks of the Year. These boots performed wonderfully. I wore them about 1 hour prior to taking off on a 3 day, 30 mile backpacking trip through the Monangahela Wilderness in West Virginia. No blisters, no hotspots, they were comfortable and reasonably light. I've always had full leather boots and these were my first Gore Tex pair. I love them and would recommend them to anyone.

This is my 1st pair of Salomon's but I really like them. The features speak for themselves. I went to a retail store to try on various hiking boots. I tried on about 5 pairs and these Quests felt heads and shoulders better then the rest. The boot really feels like it hugs your foot and provides support all around. In that way, they feel a bit stiffer then other boots I tried on. I haven't taken them on any hardcore backpacking trips yet. But I have worn them around the house/office and taken them on a couple 1-4 mi hikes. Bottom line... the boots has great support, a grippy sole, is waterproof (thx Gore-Tex) and looks pretty cool.

These are the greatest boots ever! I’ve only had them a week now, but I’ve already put 15 miles on them. They come out of the box ready to go. They hook up in all terrain from sand, to hard pack rocky trail, and even sticky mud. They allow quick movement in technical terrain, they do a great job of moving large (heavy) loads. I can’t say enough good things about these shoes/boots. If you want to see trail in less time and feel strong at the end of the day, then these boots are the ticket! The only draw back about them is the brown color. And they are a bit heavier than I expected.

Perfect Quest! I love these shoes. I had a 3 day hiking in Colorado & they were the best hiking shoes I ever had. Incredibly light & supportive. I also enjoyed their great comfort & grip!

Used these boots for work in Rocky Mountains for last the 18 months. They are ready to be tossed now. Comfortable boot and held up as well as any boots I've owned at this price. Could use a better tread pattern on the sole, not a great gripper. I am a land surveyor in tough rocky country.

I have tough feet to fit and I've tried a lot of boots. Thankfully Zappos has free return shipping. What I like about these boots is that they fit me, perfectly. I have narrow feet and a narrow heel but I like a larger toe box so my toes don't get munged going downhill. These boots are perfect for that. What I don't like about them: The sole isn't all that sticky so walking on rock requires a bit of care. They don't have a shank in them which makes them nice and flexible but you can feel more of the trail on your feet than heavier duty hiking boots. This is okay but for serious through hikers might be a problem. The style is a bit busy for me, I prefer plainer boots. I like the hight of them as I like ankle support and so far after breaking them in for a few days in the house and two ten mile hikes on varied terrain they're working very well. There is probably no perfect boot but fit is the top of my list of boot attributes and these boots fit my feet.

Great boot! Awesome support for such a light boot. Good grip on wet rocks and downed trees. Flexibility was actually kinda springy under 175 lb body and 50 lb pack. Uphill, downhill jaunts, 13 mile days and I wasn't feeling like I had to take them off at the end of the day! Super comfortable. Waterproof-ness is adequate for light rain and puddle jumping but I had some leakage at the toe lacing during a medium rain shower coupled with some creek crossings. I wouldn't recommend standing in water with these but think they work well otherwise.

Liked the look of this boot. Light but looks like it would offer a lot of support. Like the lace lock, always have. Have other Salomon winter boots decided to try another, lighter, summer pair. Receive my boots in record time! Thanks Zappos! Unfortunately, I am not finding it easy to find a pair of boots that fit. What happened Salomon? I have one foot that is a 12 and the other is a 12 1/2. Okay, I'm weird but size 13 most of the time fits. The left fit pretty good but was a little short. The right didn't even feel like it was even made on the same planet. It was short, narrow and the arch didn't even like it was in the right spot. Now my only thought is, do I try a 14?

These boots are not waterproof! My feet were soaked the very first day I wore them and they're Gortex? If you want dry feet, save your money and look else where.

Outstanding boots! I have a narrow heel and wider but low volume toes and fairly normal to slightly high arches. I'm an avid backpacker and I have a tough time finding boots that fit me. These boots lock in my heel but allow my toes ample room to spread out without banging against each other or the front of the boot. Lacing system is spectacular. Grip and tread wear have both been better than expected. Durability has been average to good - a small section of the toe rand is starting to peel back just a little bit, but no impacts to performance or waterproofness. I've had these boots in the swamps of Alabama, to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro and all over the Appalachians. I'm almost ready to order another pair just to guarantee that I'll have great fitting and performing boots once mine actually wear out. Other aspects that true backpackers and boot connoisseurs will appreciate: - I was a little skeptical about the lack of vibram rubber. But 750 trail miles later, I can say that it hasn't been an issue. Contra grip is fine. - Gore-Tex has held up without any issues. It's Gore-Tex, which means that when the temps get above about 75, the boots can get hotter than non-Gore-Tex boots. In other words, the breathability of these particular boots is on par with other Gore-Tex boots of similar design. I was also skeptical about the durability of a boot without a sturdy PU shank. These boots probably won't last 20 years, but they seem to be on par for about 1,500 miles. No evidence of the EVA insoles breaking down yet. - forefoot undersole seems somewhat thin - I can perceive some rocks, not to the point of any discomfort, but this boot does seem to be somewhat thinner than some others that I've tried. My typical pack weight is 25-35 lbs, hike about 10-14 miles per average trail day. Not ultralight and not a speed hiker. But these boots also performed well when hauling 60 lb "Sherpa dad" loads with the kids in tow. I'd like to see the tongue gusset come all the way to the top, but on the other hand, I never had any issues with water leaking over the existing gusset. Boots have good ankle support.

I bought these for hunting. I have a bad knee. These boots are excellent. 2-day break in period. I can walk all day in them. Water does not penetrate even in heavy dew or submerged. Worth every penny. Interestingly, according to the book, "No Easy Day" by Mark Owen, these boots were part of his SEAL Team equipment used to raid Osama Bin Laden's secret compound. That should tell you something about these boots.

I don't normally fill these things out, but these boots are worth it. I've never had a shoe, much less a boot, that fit almost perfectly straight out of the box like these did. Minimal break-in time, as in less than a day. Comfortable on either the trail or asphalt. Haven't been through puddles, but my feet stayed dry in wet grass. Zappos delivery time phenomenal. I was VERY impressed. At first I balked at the price, but friends of mine on active duty swore by them and now I understand why. Will be a repeat customer both of Salomon and Zappos.

There's so much good about this boot already written I won't rehash the obvious but it truly is a good boot. The only issue I had was that this boot narrows so much moving from the toes to the heel on the outside of the foot that it actually puts pressure on the outside of my foot about middle of the foot on both feet to the point that I couldn't get this issue to dissipate or reduce to a comfortable level regardless of the type of insole I tried. This narrowing feature is obviously one of the reasons so many like the way this boot "grabs" and holds onto the foot but I don't have wide feed and this feature was just too uncomfortable for me. I only wish this boot had a more "average" or "normal" Last shape because the boot is great in so many ways. If you have never noticed this or this issue doesn't bother you then by all means you will most likely enjoy this great boot.

I have had these boots for 2+ years and worn them on several backpacking trips. They have held up very well, are comfortable, waterproof, great support, and light weight for their durability. They seem to have a lot of use left in them. A little pricey but strongly recommend them.
