I spend up to 14 hours a day in my shoes. Most of that time I am on concrete. Up until earlier this year, I wore DC brand shoes and replaced them every 6-12 months.
Well, my most recent pair of DCs only lasted about a month before they literally fell apart, so I decided to try something different. Zappos gave me a full refund and allowed me to try some DVS shoes. They hurt my feet, and Zappos let me return them.
Now I have these Bates boots, and my feet have never been happier at work. As an added bonus some lingering lower back and knee pains have gone away since I switched shoes. I don't know how long they will last, but so far I have 3 months on then and they feel great!

Great Tactical/Sports Boot! I work in a sports arena. I do a lot of walking! I purchased a 2nd pair. 1st pair lasted 3 years! I actually walked the sole off the boot! Very comfortable, true to size/width. Great for all 4 seasons!

These boots are amazingly comfortable. One of the best things about these boots is that they are so light weight. Most boots you feel you have ankle weights on. These boots are lighter than some of my sneakers in wieght, but they are still strong and rugged at the same time. Best footwear purchase I've made in quite some time.

I got these for my job at Amazon delivery driver.They fit true to size I would recommend exchanging the insoles out for something with more padding because the ones that came with I think after a long day might soften too much

I like these boots, I just wish that when I ordered a size 13, I didn't get a size 14! Bates sizing runs a full size larger than marked, for sure. At least that is how mine came.

I have flat feet and these have very little arch support. My feet get tired quickly in them. The width and length, however, are perfect. Unlike Hi-Tec and some others I have tried, Bates does not skimp around the ankle bones and the boots can be laced properly.
Note these are NOT waterproof - water goes straight through mine.
For the price these are better than most, but I think I will go back to Danner for my next pair.

Quality comfortable shoe that is very light weight. I wore them all day right out of the box with no problems. When I ordered them I didn't realize that there was a similar model with a side zipper which would have made them easier to put on and take off. Great shoe!

Slightly oversized, the larger issue is that the stitching of the leather that wraps around the heel came out within six months. I stitched it back together with an awl, but it didn't hold. It could be that it is being flexed more than intended because they are slightly oversized.

Two things I didn't like about this boot( 5" Tactical sport). #1 was the lace up really sucked and the laces were very short. #2 was the front laces were too far forward and dug in into my toe area. So, I returned them for that reasons and I thought Bates cheased on quality for the price they charge. No more Bates for me.

The boot feels roomy in the toes, maybe fooling you into thinking they are too big when they are but this is not necessarily a bad thing. I do, however, feel that the boot looks more narrow once you're wearing them and the material is much shinier than it looks in the picture. I was hoping they would look more like a dull black as they do in the picture. Overall, I would return them if it weren't for the fact that I wore them already, to give them a chance. I'm just not fully satisfied with with the style. Maybe they will look better once I break them in, or I may end up selling them on eBay.

Boots do not have any support, my naturally a 8.5 with a flat foot… my feet slid in and around the boots. If you’re working long hours (I worked 8 hrs.) you will need insoles. I’m actually returning these boots. Feet started hurting after 2 hours.

Material is terribly tight. Feels more like plastic. Digs into my ankles. I'll stick to the 35 dollar boots I buy at Walmart. 90 dollars for this pair is a waste. Thank goodness I didn't pay for them.
