I normally wear a US womens 7.5 and I have a bunion so lately I've been getting wide shoes. I tried these 550 boots in a US 7.5, 8, and 8.5 as I was told they run small and that half sizes arent any longer, they are just wider. I ended up keeping the 8. They are perfectly wide and the 8.5 was slightly too wide in the ankle and loose over the top of the foot. I also got another dressier style (style 1671 heeled chelsea) and that one I ended up keeping the 8.5 for width. Additionally, I tried the "dress chelsea" in an 8 and it was too big. Each style seems to have it's own sizing, but Zappos was really good about exchanges. I'd maybe try for sizing in a store if you live bear any and then you can order online.

Great boot, but the color in the photo is a few shades off the real thing - natural or fluorescent - toward the warmer (red) end of the spectrum. Be careful if that matters to you. This is on top of the inherent Blundstone homeliness (Run Forrest, Run!) that you may or may not embrace.

I normally wear US size 8 more most shoe brands and for these 550s I had to get 1 size smaller to allow for stretch and break in if you are planning to use it for any form of long walks or hikes. It is breaking in well !

I’m not sure I agree with the true to size reviews. My fit 99.9% of the time is a women’s US 8M. After measuring my feet according to Blundstone’s website, I ordered a women’s 8 US and it was too short and too tight. I chose to exchange it for a women’s 9 US. This was too long and too wide even with my orthotics which are quite thick. So now I’ve sent the 9’s back and ordered the women’s 8.5 US. Even though the measurement indicates the length is the same as the 8 but they are apparently a wider width. So hopefully third times a charm ?. I sure love the personnel who do customer service for ZAPPOS, excellent customer service. Love Zappos.

I bought the 585 a few months back and they are Awesome, and I was thinking these would be the same but the leather is a little deformed on the top of the foot and the instep seems much tighter than the 585s. Hopefully they will stretch out. Zappos Service and delivery is amazing.

Loved the walnut brown color. Fit true to size. I usually wear a 12 and 12’s fit me. I did end up sending them back. A little too bulky for what I was looking for, but very well made shoe.

Excellent quality. The boot was roomy around the front foot, but tight over my arch. The biggest problem was that I had an awful time getting into the shoe, and then pulling it off. If you have high arches, this boot is not for you.

I've wanted a pair of Blundstones for a long time, but their lack of wide sizes spooked me. I wear 12(US) W or EE. I'm happy to say these size 12 US fit fine. The length is a perfect 12 and they're wider than standard 12 D shoes. I put the accompanying insoles in and they fit perfectly. I just walked my dog for about a mile, and felt no chafing of any kind. I'll be wearing these boots a lot, and getting my $ worth out of the hefty price. I hope they last!

I used to be a diehard Blundstone wearer going back well over 25+ years. My first pair lasted over 10 years but then got partially eaten by my then puppy. My second pair were totally substandard. I stopped buying them after the soles of both my and my sister in law’s boots (!) literally disintegrated after only a few years wear. I know they used to be made in Australia and had begun making them in Asia at some point. I’ve really missed having them as a go too all purpose country boot so with greR optimism I recently purchased a new pair. These fit great! I love that they include additional insoles to assist with personalized fitting. My right foot is 1/2 size larger and I could use the added insole to help with fit. The quality seems, fingers crossed, much improved. The insoles are a bit firm so I might replace with something cushier. What confuses me is that it is entirely unclear where they are manufactured. The heel pulls both say Tasmania Australia and I could find nothing on the box or shoe indicating where they are made. I just saw in one of the comments that they are still made in Thailand, but have also read Vietnam, India and Mexico for the North American market. If so, this is weirdly deceptive. Hopefully, fingers crossed, they’ve improved whatever materials they were using for the sole. Hence I took a star off for the total lack of clarity in where they are made.

The look of these boots are great! However, I needed to return for a full size larger. Very small for my regular size and tight!

Definitely runs small, in my case. Usually a size 6 which corresponds to Blundstone size 3, but opted for size 4 and it was the right choice. I also purchased the sheep insoles which add additional comfort and warmth and take up a bit of volume. The leather is a bit tough, needs some breaking in but are generally comfortable right from the box.

This is the third pair of these shoes I've owned in the last 9 years. The sole wears out before the upper. The sole is thinner than it used to be. Comfortable shoes for me.

I wanted to love these boots but they felt too narrow and tight. I couldn't wear midweight socks with them.

I am between 9.5 and 10 and in this style the 9.5 was too small for me, but the 10 was a little too large but I would probably have kept them except for the shaft was a full 1/2 inch taller and it rubbed against my ankle/lower calf.

I have crazy wide feet and no matter what size I ordered I just couldn't "make" one fit. Too bad, nice boots.

A bit too small, and extremely hard to take off

So apparently AU sizing is off and I concur. I normally wear a US 9.5 or EU 40, and almost never deviate from this. I tried these in a AU 6.5 which is supposed to be a 40, but my toes barely grazed the end of the boot despite the width being perfect. So I tried the AU 7, and they fit like clown shoes even with the insole. Seriously wide, a full inch longer in length than the 6.5, and a toe box as “full” as a steel toe boot, except no steel, just a great big oversized toe box & instep. And they say they stretch over the instep which is the absolute last place I would need them to stretch. Really bummed, I love how they look and the soles do feel real comfy, but not when they’re slipping in every other spot. I’m also kinda turned off finding out they can’t be resoled.

I am usually a size 10.5/11 womens, so I started with the Size AU 7.5, which ended up being too small. I went up a size, and at first they felt okay (even with heavier socks) but the first time I wore them out, I got blisters on my ankles. I've been wearing bandaids and the shoes themselves seem to be stretching out the more I wear them, so I am hoping over time they'll get more comfortable! Unfortunately, I feel like if I went up another size they would be too big. Maybe it's just my feet, because everyone I know who has these boots loves them! My boyfriend bought a pair at the same time and had no issues!

As the last member of my family without Blundstones I wanted these so bad! Unfortunately my supper high arch made it impossible for me to get my foot in the boot.

Ridiculously difficult to get on! I can't imagine having to do this much work to get a shoe on and then off again. They are almost as hard to get off. Given the fact that I have to pry them off, the back of the heel leather would be destroyed in no time. Once on, they fit well and felt fairly comfortable. I do have a high instep and high arches, but seriously a LOT of work to get them on my feet. I will probably be returning them even though I like the looks, the workmanship and the outside tread. At $200 for a pair of boots, I can't risk not being able to return them if the goring didn't eventually stretch. Sadly, returning.

These shoes are not as easy to slip and out of as they might have been portrayed to be! They actually take a little bit of strength to get off. Though the foot part is of the shoe is extremely comfortable, this is not the same for the leather portion of the boot that extends up the sides of the leg. If you do not order a large enough size you will experience that the leather instantly rubs against the back of the leg and it is the type of rub that is sure to create a blister. I suggest getting this shoe a whole size bigger than your regular size (I'm a size 10 so, size 11) and not a half size larger.

I have worn Blundstones for years. This pair is nice in color and comfort. However, since they have moved their operation overseas the quality is suffering. The leather on this pair seems to be buckling in strange places. Also, the quality of the leather seems inferior to other pairs I have owned. I'll still wear them, but I'm missing the old level of quality. A bit steep on the price for diminished value. These shoes are comfy and tough. I hope once I break them in a little more the leather will lay down and crease in the right places.

I so wanted to love these boots. I have a wide foot, tall instep. Ordered the 6.5, usually wear women’s 8.5 or 9 wide. I could not get my foot into the boot. Long experience tells me bigger size will just be a loose shoe once I get it on my foot. I sure wish there could be more choices of slip on boots for wide feet. So sad. I’ve read great reviews about these boots and have been very excited. I’m still on the search for the right size. They come quite stiff and very hard to get on my feet. I called Nordstrom and after Zappos could not help me and learned that Blundstone boots half sizes are not actually bigger only wider, so I guess I am now in search for a size 10, which I’ve never worn in my life so I’m not yet sure they will work.

I tried....3 years later and I give up. I had my previous pair for 18 years. The new ones hurt the top of my feet and after a few hours in them my feet fall asleep. I even bought boot stretchers and that did not work. Zappos was so great they sent me another pair. Same thing so I gave them to my son and he can’t wear them either. Should have returned them right away.
