Great boots for every day!
These are wonderful boots. My favorite of this style boot that I have ever owned. They look great, feel great, and the laces stayed tied. I have another pair of boots that forever are frustrating me because I have to retie them every five minutes. I would definitely buy another pair of these boots.

I Love My Boots!!
They are a perfect fit, ever so comfortable, and keep my feet warm and dry. They have been moisture tested with the last 2 storms, and pass with flying colors. I would recommend them to anyone!!

Stay dry and warm -
As an Indiana UPS driver, I spend up to 12 hrs. a day out in the snow/rain/slush during our Christmas rush. These boots have kept my feet dry and comfortable during very wet conditions this season. They feel good enough and are light enough to jog in when needed. I have very wide feet and the wide size fits well. No complaints at all. Far more comfy and warmer than my Columbia Bugaboo IIs.

Outdoors every day at work -
First, there was no break in period. I was comfortable from the start. This is a first for me. I tried another pair of boots and returned them (thanks Zappos!) and ordered these next. My wide feet comfortably fit without the rear of the shoe being floppy. That is rare.
I work on my feet all day on the roadway, sometimes with no breaks. These boots have already endured rain, some snow, mud, and sunshine. Temperature range so far has been from 30-60 degrees Fahrenheit. I did purchase another pair of boots for below 30. My toes were just starting to get too chilly this morning in the sleet.
I have worn only one pair of thick silk (they look like classic wool) socks. I think 2 would be overkill in these boots unless you got oversized. No sore feet here! Thanks Timberland and Zappos!

Timberland Chocorua Trail with Gore-Tex® Membrane -
I love these boots. I work at a delivery company and I'm on my feet for many hours; these boots are a perfect fit. These boots are no longer carried in the stores around here; thankfully Zappos has them for women.

I LOVE these boots!!
I tend to have a problem getting comfortable shoes and I also wear orthotics. I took a chance and ordered these boots in my normal size, 8 Wide. They not only fit great, but they're sooo comfortable. I'm not an avid hiker, but do like to walk in the woods. These boots provide great support and they look hot!!

Great Hiking Boot -
I'm a Timberland fan. I've had a few pairs of hiking boots in the past. The only ones that really do what they claim are Timberlands. They are strong, rugged, AND attractive. I am someone that really cares about comfort for the foot, as I have had major operations on both my feet. Timberlands have the highest comfort factor for me and they protect my feet well, which is important to me. I even bought a smaller version for my son so that we may go hiking together. I care about his feet as if they were my own. Moms, you can spend tons of money on clothes and what have you, but you would be better advised to spend that money on some really good shoes. Timberlands are the best in my book.

Fits and feels great -
I love these boots. I have a wide foot with hardly any arch and they felt and looked perfect. I joined a hiking group and wore these boots with no complaints. I'm not a hiker and was afraid at first but these shoes help me to conquer any fear I would have had.

I liked the quality of this shoe. I don't usually buy from the internet and I was surprised that this shoe fit my 5 ½s as well as it does.

The last pair of Tims I owned were their 6" PRO series workboots, which lasted me over two and a half years before the sole started coming apart. I work as a park interpreter, so I'm on my feet all day, walking two to four miles over gravel and concrete, up and down hills, often in wet conditions. And in my spare time, I do hiking and wildlife watching. So I decided to go with a dedicated hiker that would be rugged enough for the typical trail, but still have some style for the workplace and casual occasions. Having worn the brand before, I stuck to what I'm familiar with. And what a beauty these shoes are! I was thinking they were keepers, but after wearing them for about a week, these will unfortunately be my fourth new pair of hiking boots to be returned to the store. First off, if you're claiming your boots are 100% waterproof because you sat them in a bathtub for ten minutes and they didn't get wet inside, get a life! For those of you who actually hike over wet terrain often, these are no different from any other allegedly waterproof footwear. Wet grass will eat them for breakfast. Now I don't know if such a wild and strange substrate as grass contains some sort of magical chemicals that are capable of permanently destroying the waterproof defenses of any boot, or what, but I have yet to find a hiker that will retain its waterproofness under such harsh and unforgivable conditions. So I wasn't expecting a whole lot from these, except that they might last for more than three days before letting water in to keep your feet wet the rest of the day. I'm starting to think "Gore-Tex" means "plastic grocery bags," and "waterproof leather" means "normal leather, but with a bit of animal fat half-assedly rubbed in." The leather has even started to stain. I'm all for giving my boots some character, as long as it doesn't mean ruining them in the process. Now let's talk about the sole. I had no idea what "arch support" meant before wearing these...because they have none! At the end of a work day, it feels like the entire underside of my foot has been hyperextended, a feeling no other footwear has ever given me. And keep in mind I'm not mountaineering; I'm walking on trails that are intended to be handicapped-accessible. "Rigid" and "rugged" are certainly not words that come to mind when I consider the soles of these shoes. And the treads have next to no grip! Not only does the boot slip on wet rocks and wood, but on wet concrete as well. My Timberland PROs, which ironically have nearly flat treads, had far better grip. Now my biggest complaint about these boots is that when I walk around in them, the leather between the toe and the laces folds in against the tops of my toes. This is, of course, especially noticeable when walking uphill or taking longer, faster strides. The guy at the local shoe store said that happens when the shoe is too big, which may be true, but was certainly not the issue here. I tried 9 and 9.5 in both medium and wide. 9 was too tight; medium, too narrow; and 9.5 wide the perfect natural fit. So what's the deal? Well, an employee at another store said it was in the way the leather was cut. How right he was! There are a number of design issues interacting synergistically here. Number one, there's just too much material between the laces and the toe. Take a look at some designs by other manufacturers, where the lacing comes down about another inch toward the toe, leaving no room for slackness and giving the shoe a place to bend comfortably. The way the material is stitched together here in the Timberlands makes it particularly rigid where it should be softer. And the leather itself, while seemingly durable, is relatively inflexible. So it folds in quite sharply, an issue compounded by the lack of rigidity in the sole. This puts an unnecessary amount of stress on the material, wearing it out quickly, and probably contributing to the early failure of the boot's waterproofing. I figured the wear would soften it to the point that the problem is less noticeable, but it has only become more annoying. Not only that, but I can already start to see where the leather is starting to separate from the outsole. So while my old Timberland PROs stayed intact after nearly three years, I just can't bring myself to trust this pair. I may have to bite the bullet and spend the extra cash on a pair of Asolos.

I bought these boots for hiking and I'm generally satisfied. I bought a wide version and it was still a bit tight width-wise at first, but became comfortable after wearing them a few times. I wore these boots for about 6 months now and they are really comfortable on hiking trails around lake, etc. (4-8 miles). However, I would not recommend these for mountain hiking. I went to a local mountain that required some rock scrambling at the top and the boots were very slippery on rock surfaces that were slightly damp. I wish Timberland would use better traction outsole like Ecco.

This boot is definitely lightweight and they felt great the first week. But I have wide feet and require EE's per American standards. These shoes are made in China where folks, typically, have narrower feet. I ordered a EE size and got a W size. These W's are just too small and cause a lot of pain. Unfortunately, I do not have the original box and they are not in the same condition as new.

I have not really lucked out with hiking boots in my adult life, but I finally did with these. They felt great on my first wearing, and I feel very stable when I am going over trails, uphill and downhill. They keep my feet dry and warm in winter but are plenty breathable in summer. They are so comfortable I don't want to take them off when I get home! Highly recommended. I will buy this exact model again if they're still available when I am in the market again, but mine are 2 years old now and still in great shape.

Okay I’ve tried on over a dozen boots over the last month and landed on these. My first pair lasted me ten years of hard use before they quit a year or two ago. These are the best, most supportive for hiking, highest quality boot you will ever find for the money. Period. I wear them as snow boots as well and have only ever had the slightest bit of snow sneak in on the top while walking through 12” fluff.

My first pair lasted 12 years. They didn't wear out, but looked tired. I bought the same exact boot, name and all. Right out of the box, still I do a lot of walking and some hiking in all sorts of weather. The boots always deliver.

Feels just like every other non-breathing, stiff boot you ever wore. It is nice to be able to walk through the water. They are definitely fall/winter/early spring shoes since your feet heat up pretty quick in them. They weigh as much as any other high boot you've ever worn. Typical build quality for any other boot out there. As for style, they look like every other brown boot you've ever worn and no one is going to ask you who makes them. Basically in a nut shell they are like every other boot you've ever worn and you wont get any style awards for wearing them.

The fit was perfect and very comfortable right out of the box. The first time that I wore them was during 4 days of hunting. They felt like I’d been wearing them forever, super comfortable, good support, and warm.

This is the second pair of these hiking boots I've purchased and I love them. They are well made, very comfortable and stylish. The only thing I would change about them would be the shoe lacing. I swapped them out with parachute cord for longer life and durability. Good price also.

Fit perfectly, as did my last pair of Timberlands. I'm using them daily in New England snow now, and later for hiking, camping and bad weather. They're just large enough if I need two pair of socks, but not too large with one pair. Warm enough with just one pair of socks in snowbelt winter now. Tie them properly, and you'll walk comfortably for miles in four seasons. There's only one error in the online ad. The mesh claims to be "green" color, but is actually a true bronze -- which looks better to my eye. +1

On my second winter with these boots. Crazy comfortable. Very good traction in wet conditions, satisfactory traction in up to 3" of snow and boots always keep my feet dry and comfortable. Very stable and comfortable in lite hiking conditions. I have been extremely happy with these boots.

This is the 4th pair of Timberland Chochora boots I've bought in 10+ years. I was ready to replace this past summer and actually bought a pair of $150 Oboz because my friend loved his. All I can say it 2-miles on the trail and the blister on the heel started. I made excuses, tried to make them work and finally threw in the towel after 3-months of sore feet.
Timberland makes a great hiking boot and I charted my first 10-miles this past weekend with no issues. When you know you've found a great shoe that works over, stay the course. I will keep buying Timberland.

These have been such great boots for my husband I continue to buy them. He tried the more expensive brands and they just don't hold together as well as these. We live on a farm so these are his everyday shoes. They last about 6 months with everyday rough farm wear to them. Great ankle and foot support with a bonus of waterproof. Happy customer and will continue to buy.
