Really great shoe, just needed ortho insert -
I really like this shoe, so much so that I'm considering buying them in brown. My feet hurt all the time and I've gone through physical therapy and numerous inserts to make shoes work. This shoe is fashionable (well, to me it is!) and sporty but also gives me a touch of height (and, let's face it ladies, height helps!). They've become my every day shoe. I will add that they pinched a touch in front for the first day (I have a high instep) and I needed to put an ortho insert inside (just removed the insert it comes with) to provide adequate arch support. But otherwise, I feel fashionable, tall and ready for a day on my feet. Would totally recommend these!

Merrell's...
I have never tried on a pair of Merrell's that did not fit well! It's hard for me to buy shoes online since I have a slightly wider foot. I was looking for something comfortable to walk in, yet something I could wear to work. Since I'm a teacher, I'm on my feet all day. I looked all over the mall to find something that would work. I saw an ad for Zappos and thought I'd give it a shot. The Merrell's Plaza Ballet met all the requirements. Zappos upgraded my shipping at no extra cost and they arrived within days. I'm very happy with the service supplied by Zappos, and the quality and reliability of Merrell. Glad to see all the new styles Merrell... keep them coming!

These shoes are stylish if you are sporty, girly girl and extremely comfortable. There's no break-in time with these. I wore them without socks for the first time and felt as though my feet were secure and well cushioned. Perfect for shopping all day!

Comfy, cute, and versatile!
I'm a huge fan of Merrell and of course Zappos! Their customer service is outstanding and returns are so easy if a shoe doesn't work out. I wore the sandal that is similar to this shoe thru out the summer and loved it! It provided great support to my arch (I overpronate and usually insert a custom orthotic in my shoes - it was great to find a sandal that provided support). This shoe seems very similar to the sandal in comfort and support. Just the right heel height. Can wear with jeans, cropped pants, or skirts. The color is a bronze/brown and is so versatile. It may be a tad wide and the toe is quite rounded - for me that spells COMFORT!!!

I read the reviews dozens of times before deciding to take the chance. I wanted ballet-style shoes with a little bit of height that I could wear in the office as well as on outings. I was very pleased when I received the shoes to find that they are rugged yet feminine enough to wear with everyday skirts and dresses - and comfortable enough that I could wear these for long stretches of time. I purchased mine in brown; I will definitely consider getting another pair in black.

I like this shoe a lot; it runs a tad wider than the Plaza Bandeau (which I found too narrow). It is quite comfortable and I like the sporty look; I wear it with jeans, pants and skirts. It is not a super dressy shoe, and the black is more of a dark charcoal. It has just enough of a heel to give a little boost (I'm 5'2" and need all the help I can get heightwise!), but is still comfortable for all-day wear. I haven't had any problems with it falling off my feet, which is always a hazard in ballet-style shoes. All in all, a nice versatile and comfortable shoe. I am usually a 7.5 in street shoes and an 8 in running shoes, and the 7.5 in this style fit perfectly. My foot is slightly wide, but not wide enough for a wide width; and I have a narrow heel.

I have a wide-ish foot with a very high instep. I found this shoe to be comfortable only if I went up a half size in it. Otherwise, similar to other reviewers, it rubbed along the band at the base of my toes and cut into my heel.

I was looking for a shoe I could wear for travel to Europe, that didn't look too much like a sneaker. This shoe is nice, but I feel the sueded upper will look old and banged up in just a few wearings. I had to add an insole since the 5.5 was too small and the 6 was a tad too big (they are also pretty wide in my opinion), but once I did, it made them very comfortable for long walks with little break-in time. Overall I like the shoe, but would like it more in a leather upper instead of suede.

Merrell Plaza Ballet -
Merrell was first recommended to me by a surgeon who knew that I had orthopedic problems. The stabilization provided by these shoes has been a real boon. Hands down, any Merrell is better than any other shoe I have ever worn. The back comes up a little higher than on the Plaza Bandeaus that I have been wearing and that was a little uncomfortable at first.

I usually wear regular shoes in an 8 and running shoes in an 8.5. I had to reorder these in an 8.5. They are quite comfortable, but they did take a bit of breaking in as they rubbed a blister on my heel. I think they look super cute with pants/jeans, but I wouldn't wear them with dresses/skirts. You can dress them up or down. I like the fact that there is a slight (1 inch heel), but it doesn't feel like you're wearing a heel at all. Overall, I really like these shoes a lot and would recommend them.

Mostly happy with them.
The shoe looks blacker in the picture. I wish they were blacker in person. I am a size 10.5 but have a very hard time finding them, so the size 11 are a bit big (socks help). This might be why my foot slides forward in them which causes them to rub across the top and rub my heel as I walk, but no blisters have formed and I have worn them for 10 hour work days. The soles are safe for winter walking.

I love Merrells but not the Plaza Ballet; it has an awkward fit with it being too wide in places and doesn't stay on your foot. The Plaza Bandeau model with the strap near the toe stays on very well and you can practically run in it.
