I have worn a previous pair of Jungle Mocs for years and wore them out. I needed a new pair, but was disappointed. They have changed the design and fit. They are now very wide in the heel, and my foot slipped out with every step. Oh well. Back they go.

very disappointed...these are Narrow with a short toe box and have no arch support...they feel supportive because of the sole but there is no arch...I have a medium width foot and medium to neutral arches ..why have all shoe companies narrowed their shoes and toe boxes? sad as i think merrell will not be the brand for me

I thought these were pretty cute but they at 5 1/2 were slipping on the heel. I tried it with a thicker sock, and that made it too tight in the toes area. The toes were about right with a thinner sock, but I know if I got a 5 they would've just been too tight all over. I will say they felt comfortable to lightly stand on, but not walk in. If they would've fit better front to back, I probably maybe could've kept them?

These shoes are very bulky - even for a winter shoe. In addition, the pair I received was of poor quality - I'd say defective. I have had mixed results with the Merrell brand in the past year. Quality and sizing have become inconsistent. But I have had consistently excellent service from Zappos. Thank you, Zappos.

It took me about a month to break these shoes in, after that they were comfortable. After about six months of use, the toe cap came unglued on one of the shoes, then five months later the other side came unglued. I found this to be very annoying being that I have owned similar shoes in the past that have lasted me MUCH longer.
I am now in the market for new work shoes and given that these are falling apart and will not purchase the same pair.

I bought a pair years ago that was wonderfully comfortable and warm. The sole was wearing down so I ordered a new pair. The style has changed - it's narrower and feels less "stable" than the old version. Also, while the right shoe felt a lot tighter (width wise and lengthwise) than the left shoe. I thought it might be that particular pair, ordered another pair and had the same problem where the right shoe felt much tighter than the left. If I went up a size, the left shoe would have been way too big. I wish they had the old style back. And the same width - all the current shoes now seem to run narrower.

I have owned several pair of Merrells and thought this would be another winner. In retrospect, I own several pair of Merrell clogs and sandals, and this is relevant. I have trouble finding shoes and have come to learn to that it is because I have a wide toe box area but a normal to narrow heel. So wide shoes are too wide in the heel and normal shoes are too narrow in the toe box. Merrell clogs and sandals tend to avoid the heel problem altogether (although I do love the agaves which have back straps). But their shoes with backs do not having recently tried other models as well. I tried my normal size 7 1/2 first and although they were nice and soft with good support, wow did my toes hurt when I tried to walk around my living room. I thought they were too small so I ordered size 8. My feet swam in the 8's, only the toe area fit. The rest just slipped around my foot and the heel rode up clear to the top of my ankle. I could tell they would be really comfortable if they fit my foot but alas, this model just did not. So if, like me, you have a wider toe area and a normal to narrow heel, I recommend looking at another shoe. All of Merrells clogs I have tried so far are great. Also, if you have wide feet period, this probably won't work either.

I wear a lot of Merrell shoes. In retrospect, I wear a lot of Merrell clogs and sandals, of which this is neither. I had been eying these shoes for some time and was really looking forward to wearing them to both work (I am in education) and on weekends for times when I would be walking around a lot. But the shoes fit funny and to be honest, was not made that well for Merrell. I ordered my usual size first, 7½. They were soft and had great cushioning but my toes began to hurt right away. I thought maybe they were just too small because Merrell can run small. So I sent them back and shortly had a size 8 to try out. Wow! My feet were swimming and with every step the heel came way up. My toes fit this time, but nothing else did. Upon looking closely I saw that the elastic inside seemed to go all the way across the instep, and I hate that in a shoe. It always hurts, no matter how loose. They also looked cheaply made, unlike most Merrells. If they fit my feet, they would be very comfortable I am sure. I think they are only good for feet that are on the narrow side, at least in the front. I think if you do, they will fit true to size. I have a wide toe area and a normal heel area so it can be difficult to find shoes that fit both places. My recommendation is that if the toes feel tight in your normal size, do not return for a larger size, try a different shoe. I am actually sick of trying on Merrells, and just ordered a pair of Keens, which I also like. Hopefully they will work better.

I was so excited to receive these shoes today...and then so disappointed when they didn't fit! These shoes run big. I usually wear an 8 to an 8.5, and I ordered a size 8 and my heels slipped out of the back when I walked around the house. Too bad, because otherwise, they felt extremely comfortable. I'm exchanging for a 7.5. I can give these only two stars overall because of the sizing issue. I'll review again when I receive the 7.5 and have a chance to wear them.

I wore nothing but this shoe in the winter time for the last several years. This year when I bought a new pair however, the back of the shoe wore out within 2 months. I am extremely disappointed. I don't know if this is because I move to NY and now do a lot more walking or if the quality has gone downhill, but now I need to find a new shoe that can handle my walking lifestyle. Its a shame because I so loved these shoes, they were amazingly comfortable and waterproof but still looked nice enough to wear to work.

Ordered this shoe as an exact replacement for a jungle moccasin I have worn and loved for years. It doesn't fit the same way at all. Much shorter, overall, and narrower in the toe box. Had to send it back.

Disappointed, Merrell must have changed their foot bed in the past few years because I can no longer wear their shoes and I'm very disappointed. These felt the same size as my 8.5s, and way too tight in the toe box and when I put my orthotics in they were much too loose. I'm sad to say these are heading back tomorrow.

Looks better than it feels -
When I tried on these shoes, they didn't fit well at all around the ankle. They fit more like a loose fitting slipper than a sturdy shoe. I have thin, narrow feet so this shoe might not be a problem for someone with wider feet.

I gave this pair a 5 star review 5 months ago when I first received it. Unfortunately the right shoe has developed a very annoying squeak . I can not stand to wear it any longer. I feel very self conscious that every person and animal can hear me coming! I am so sad as I was hoping they would be the perfect travel shoes for airport security. I would hesitate to recommend!

If you had asked me about my FOUR previous pairs of women's Midnight Jungle Mocs, I would have happily given 5 stars. Those fit as though they were custom made. It never occurred to me that the 5th pair would fit so poorly, so tight. All 5 pairs were the same size and width.

I have worn jungle Mocs for over twenty years because of the Vibram sole. I won't be buying them any more since the sole is different. I bought a pair of Merrills last winter with the new sole and slid on wet asphalt the first time I wore them. Never again. Very, very disappointed in Merrill.

I have had five other pairs of Merrill shoes in the past 20 years. I finally broke down and decided to buy another pair of what I previously had. Couldn't even get my foot inside the shoe. Once I managed, it was clear the length was just right. Even a little extra space. But the width? I don't know what kind of feet they are designing shoes for, but nobody has feet that skinny with that shallow an Instep. It seems that the Keen brand has changed dramatically as well resulting in shoes that only fit the skinniest/narrowest of the feet. And I've been a proud owner of both those brands with multiple models in the past and there wasn't an issue. And they still fit me, even if they barely have soles left.
Bottom line, the company has either changed the design for no good reason, or whoever is manufacturing this garbage, doesn't follow specifications. Merrell shoes in Keen shoes: two of probably the only two brands I've ever repeatedly purchased, but I'm forced to give up on them, and never buy again.
I am beyond disappointed.

There was a huge difference in fit from right shoe--perfect fit versus the left shoe. Seemed the arch was way off on the left shoe.
