Great walking/day hiking shoe! Excellent arch support and overall comfort. Looking forward to breaking these shoes in. As with all Merrells, they appear to be well made and well suited for walking and day hiking. Thanx Zappos for another smooth transaction!

Merrell Intercepts In Black - I like the shoes. Easy to get into and out of. They seem to have a quality build and should last. They have a slightly odd look in that the laces appear to be unusually wide across the top of the shoe as if I am wearing a shoe that is too sizes too narrow. They feel great though.

These are great! Wore them in hot Beijing and they were nice and cool. Very comfortable with no need for break in period. Look is great as well.

These are great, sturdy shoes. However, they didn't quite match my foot type. Still, they are more comfortable than other shoes I have worn. I would recommend them. Just make sure they fit before purchasing.

Great Walking Shoe - Very comfortable. True to size and width. Went to Europe for 3 weeks and had zero problems with them. They looked good with khaki's or jeans. Great out of the box, no breaking in necessary!

These shoe sizes run small. I’m a size 10 in Ariat and a size 12 in Merrell.

There is a small break in time but I didn't get any blisters doing so. I also have the Moab 2's and these aren't as comfortable, but they are still an 8 for 10. The style is why I bought them. I work at a large grocery store and I'm on my feet 9 hours every day. For that, the performance is great.

Comfortable right out of the box. Had a full weekend of hiking and golf, and they were perfectly comfortable.

Great shoes, but crazy tight in the toe box which makes them uncomfortable to walk in.

Very happy with these so far. They are a little loose on the heel but I am okay with that. I only wear them at work were I am at the office in a chair or walking job sites. Very comfortable for what I use them for. I am wearing them with wool socks right now during the coldest week of winter and they do a decent job at keeping my feet warm considering they are not a winter or snow shoe. Overall happy with the purchase!

Like the look and style of these, but 10.5 size (regular width) felt too narrow on my feet, and compressed my toes. Not crazy about the big M on the side: a bit much if you ask me.

The shoes are great but I had to get a full size larger for a good fit.

I love the arch support, but wow are these ever narrow, it actually felt like my toes were squished. I always take a 8.5 in Merrells and these fit more like an 8. I have returned these . They are not as wide as the Chameleon 7's at all.

Just got back from breaking these in over 30 miles in Rocky Mountain National Park. The Pros: Good arch support Great traction and the lugs held up really well in the mountainous terrain. Good overall look and functionality. The Cons: Felt half a size small. My toes are right at the end for my shoe size. I would recommend a half a size larger, even though I wear 15s and don’t have the option of stepping up a half size. Also, the toe box is a little small for me (I usually use Keens for this reason). Coming down the mountains I got a small blister on the top of the toe next to the pinky due to this. Overall they seem to be a good and versatile shoe. I may have to switch to something different for more vertical hikes if I can’t fix the toe box issue, but would still recommend them for light hikes and/or casual wear.

Great looking shoe and feels pretty good, support-wise. But the toe box is an unusual shape and crowds my pinky toes uncomfortably.

If you're normally a full-size, add 1/2 to it since it runs a bit small. So, I normally go with 9, but for these, had to go with 9.5 since 9 was too tight.

They formed well to my feet and continue to stay that way. The support they provide is untouchable by any other brand of shoe I’ve had. They are SO comfortable. Their Vibram sole is great, especially hiking and outdoor activities they’ll seriously grip anything. My only complaint is how fast the soles have worn! They MIGHT last two total years, but I’ve got Adidas skate shoes that have lasted almost 4 years and don’t have the level of comfort or sole that these do. I’ll buy them again and again but hopefully they get a longer lasting Vibram sole.
