After wearing this shoe for work- on concrete floors for 6 months, I have concluded it has been a good shoe, but it broke down a month ago, which means its life span was about 5 months. I had no foot or joint pain during that time, but once my feet and back started to hurt then I figure that meant the shoe had broken down. The shoe did meet my expectations in that I pretty much expect a shoe to break down within 6 months of heavy use. My biggest complaint about the shoe is that the toe box is shallow and a bit narrow. My big toe has gone numb from that. Give it a better toe box, and it'll get more stars! Next time I think I will find a place locally where I can try on various models and see if any of the others are better for the toes.

Nice sturdy shoe, minimal break-in. My foot measures a 9D. I bought a 9W and changed out the insole to get a bit more room in the toe area and more support overall.

In general these shoes are pretty good. They run a little big. I wish I would have bought a half size smaller. They also are designed to correct over or under-pronating (I don't remember which) but I didn't see anything about that in the website description. My natural stride is pretty straight so they can actually make my muscles feel a little funny after a long walk, nothing major though.

I really like the Merrell Siren Sport. This is my second pair. I actually wear them for work when the heels get to be too much.
They are not dressy shoes, but if you need dark shoes that don't scream sneaker, these will work. They fit a wide foot, with their general sizes, and are comfortable enough to wear shopping. As for the sizing, I have another pair of the same shoe in a size 8.5, but I prefer the fit of the 9. It may depend a little on how much room your toes need.

Overall, I like these shoes and would buy them again. I like that they are not clunky like some other hiking shoes. While they have a lower profile than my Salomon Tianas, I think the Salomons are more comfortable. Merrell always seems a little snug to me (yet I continue to buy them). My right foot is slightly larger than my left. Left shoe fits great right from the start, but I have to loosen the laces quite a bit and have a little break-in time in order to make the right one comfortable. Although I feel they give good support, the Merrell footbed feels a little too hard to me. Cushioned socks help. I would not be able to use gel inserts unless I got a larger size. But then the left shoe would be too big. I wear them for work, which requires a sturdy shoe due to a lot of standing, visits to construction sites, and so on. I like the black/purple color combo. They look good with black slacks. They are working out well, and I am considering getting another pair.

I bought these 1/2 size bigger than I usually wear. At first I thought they were going to be too big, but I replaced the insoles (the original ones were not comfortable) and they are better now. Not the most comfortable shoes (my feet do hurt sometimes, but so cute!).

Another great shoe by Merrell. The shoe contours nicely to the foot, while providing a lightweight trail or knock around shoe. Merrell has slimmed the lines on this shoe, making it a little less clunky than some previous styles. The shoe has a great look, and still does its job. \r\nMy only criticism of this shoe is the support is a bit lacking. A good insert might resolve this problem.

Very comfortable, the usual great Merrell fit, roomy toebox, & support. I wear these mainly for my daily two to three mile walks, & love the traction, light weight, & just the feel of the shoe overall. This is the second pair of exactly this same shoe that I have ordered. Which is the one negative. I am used to replacing my walking shoes after around 3 months, when the tread starts to wear, but had to replace my first pair of this shoe earlier than that. Other Merrells I have owned have not worn out that fast, so I am giving this model another chance .Merrells in general are fantastic! My husband & both discovered them last year & purchased them for a walking tour in Italy, & they made a huge difference! Our feet were not tired at the end of the day. I recommend Merrells wholeheartedly.

Love it but...
Merrell shoes have always been great. This shoe has a great look, for hiking, around town, a little extra traction. But I always get a little blister! I may need a half to whole size bigger for the longer wear but not sure. I consulted the online help for Zappos and was assured my regular size was fine. I have tried all thickness of socks too. Maybe I just need to play with the lacing. But I do love this shoe and I LOVE Merrell.

They shrink!!
I ordered them b/c they felt very comfortable and balanced...they made my feet WANT to run, they were so light! Plus, they made my huge feet look petite! But, I had the misfortune of encountering snow in Glacier Nat'l Park while hiking this summer...we bullied through for at least an hour. Feeties drenched. Although they had gotten wet before...this time when they dried, they were way too small for my size 9s. Couldn't cram them on. I gave them to a friend who wears an 8.5 and she said they were a little tight. So, I ordered another pair, a half-size up, because with the "performance fit" you can get away with it, and if they shrink again, not as big a deal! The 9s had always felt a smidgen too small anyway...my toe touched the end.
PS - I don't jog, so these are "day hikers" for me and they held up great!

Arch Support?
Let me begin this by saying I have hard-to-fit feet. I have narrow, high-arched feet and these were just too wide all-around. I'm also shocked that so many people said that these had excellent arch support. They don't. Sorry. They're really cute (I had ordered the granite and lime), but they don't have the support I expected from a Merrell athletic shoe.

Great walking shoe -
The shoes look exactly liked I hoped they would. They are much more firm/inflexible than I thought they would be - they are definitely different than a sneaker - however, the firmness provides great support and comfort. I have arthritis in my feet and I like to walk several miles a day - these shoes are great for that. If I were playing a sport I would probably prefer a different shoe.

Great walking shoe -
This is such a good, cute walking shoe. I recommend wearing a pretty thick sock with it because there are some rub points, but I bought this for hiking and it's perfect for that.

Very cute, but very narrow and a little long, too. I find that when I have to start trying sizes and widths other than my usual 8-wide, the shoes never fit well. So I had to send these back.

I find these boots to be a bit better than ok. I like the comfort, toe room and the stability. I am on my feet, moving 8rs a day. I find my self having to re-tie them frequently. Eventually they feel loose even though they are securely laced. I am a fan of the Merrell brand overall. I will continue to wear, because overall my legs and back feel better at the end of the day.

This is my second pair of this style Merrell. My first pair lasted several years through daily use. I finally had to break down and buy a new pair because the tread was gone. I don't think this pair is made as well as they used to be. They feel flimsy and less comfortable than the old pair. The padding all around the shoe seems thinner than the old pair. They look good still. If the last pair hadn't been as good or these had been priced cheaper, I probably would like these better but Merrell seems to be cheaping out these days. These don't feel worth the cost. My husband had a similar experience when he replaced a well-worn pair of Merrell's with the same style. He also found the new pair to be inferior to the old. I think it may be time for us to try a different brand.

Nice looking shoe. Too bad the wide width was not wide at all. Really sick of the disparity in sizes between different brands. Can't the manufacturers all get on the same page? Guess I'll just keep buying New Balance - they are the only brand I've found that make a true wide width sneaker.

First: I love Merrell, I have always used Merrell as a lightweight hiker. However, I have a wide forefoot and these were too narrow; I had to return them. The way the sole is set up it looks like it would be better as a walking shoe, not as a running or trail running shoe, as billed. Good looking, though.

Cute in style but fit-wise they're just ok. I have normal feet, nothing special and most shoes fit fine on me but I guess I am the small percentage of people who cannot give this shoe a 4 or 5 star. My feet get tired in them if I wear them for more than 3 hours and I've gone on a few hikes only to have them rub painfully on the tops of my feet, something which I've never had any shoe do before. I'm a bit sad to have wasted my money and they have been relegated to run-around shoes even though they are still fairly new and pristine. I am once again on the search for a new hiking shoe.

Quality crafted shoe. Not enough arch support for my high arches. The shoe is a bit rigid, and actually a little slippery on our hard wood floors.

Well made, attractive shoe. Something about the footbed was uncomfortable -- felt like it was raised in thr wrong place. I ordered both a medium and a wide version to see if the made a difference, but just didn't like the feeling.

Ouch! I loved the look of this shoe (I ordered the grey/lime), but they were so uncomfortable I had to return them. I was disappointed because I have heard such rave reviews on the quality of Merrells. The balls of my feet hurt after only having them on ten minutes, I can't understand why there wasn't any more cushion. There is no way I could have had a hard workout in these shoes. On the plus side, Zappos was great as always - delivered my shoes in three days!
