Yea! Enough room for toes to wiggle while not sliding in the heel. Took a couple of tries with other brands to get this combination in a shoe I can feel secure in on moderately rough terrain. Thanks to Zappos easy return process, I did not get discouraged. Note: my ideal size is 10.5. I definitely needed the 11 in this brand/style. I would prefer a little more arch support, but other than that they fit comfortably right out of the box.

I bought these hiking shoes yesterday, and wore them on a two hour hike this morning. They were great! No break-in period required, no blisters, and the sole gripped really well on the rocks and sand. I would definitely recommend these!

I just bought my 5th pair of Moab Ventilators. They are my favorite walking shoe. I walk 4 to 5 days a week and I have found these shoes to be consistently comfortable and properly supportive of my feet. Like all of Merrell's shoes, they are well priced. I'll continue to buy them, as long as Merrell makes them!

The best fitting and most comfortable shoes I've ever had! I did go up a half size and they fit very well. They go with denim and look nice with jeans. I wear them for casual wear with my jeans, and not just for hiking. They stabilize my feet when walking in sand or on rocks. They are the only shoes I've found that I can wear all day on sand, rocks, or sidewalks and my feet still feel good at the end of the day. I have them in this denim blue and a light beige. Love them both!

I am totally satisfied with my new Merrells! They are very comfortable and keep my feet warm and dry. The size is perfect! I love this shoe.

I ordered this shoe due to its high ratings from Zappos customers and it lives up to its lofty reviews! I ordered a half-size larger as many suggested and they fit great, look great and feel like they are already broken in. Five stars across the board!

Right out of the box unbelievable no break in required. Such an amazing shoe might order another pair for the future. Zappos what can I say? Priceless.

Beautiful shoe; it's seems to improve my stance and walk. As always, the Merrell foot bed is totally comfortable. I'm very pleased with my choice and the price is great. The customer service was most helpful to me in making this selection & I love that I received it so quickly.

I chose the Ventilators over some Keens because they were much more comfortable out of the box. But on my first hike, they ate my socks! I solved it by not wearing socks...and they are quite comfortable. It's cold here now, but if I walk fast my feet will be warm!

Love them! I ordered a half size larger since my feet are a little wide, and they're perfect. They're very comfortable from the first wear.

Great shoes! I was looking for a shoe for gardening, light hiking and just generally something comfy to walk around in that wasn't a white with crazy designs tennis shoe or a Ked. These shoes are perfect. They have great support, and the blue looks good with jeans.

Unlike other Merrell shoes I've had, these do seem to be true to size. I ordered a half size larger than my true size to begin with (as I've had to do with all my other Merrells) and they were too big.

The first hike in these shoes was 17 miles. No break in time. Loved them. I ordered 1/2 size larger to be able to wear thick hiking socks. Just perfect.

These are the most wonderful hiking shoes! I've had various foot issues and these shoes are so very comfortable, like putting your feet into a soft mattress, with good support and a wide base. I bought these the week we left for the Rocky Mountains. There was no breaking in time required, and my feet were never sore, even after multiple hikes in the mountains. I really love these shoes. I did buy a half size larger, as I wanted plenty of room for hiking socks. Very speedy delivery, completely satisfied!

I discovered Merrell after I had to have foot surgery due to taking ballet for many years. I decided I was no longer going to buy cheap shoes and needed to take care of my feet from now on. Merrell has become my shoe brand of choice now and this shoe has become my all-time favorite shoe. It is seriously the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. My entire foot is supported, the sole is thick and cushiony, and there are no areas of the shoe that have to be worked in. I have no complaints about this shoe and cannot say enough good things about it. Plus, these colors are great! I am going to get a second pair in a different color.

Love these hiking shoes! They arrived and a couple days later I wore them on a 4 mile hike. Perfectly comfortable and no break in time needed. My winter hiking boots are also Merrell so I knew these would be great.

Great shoe! Super comfortable. I even ran in them in Moab instead of with my Asics (stability) and it was a blessed run. THese shoes are very comfortable and soft enough to climb soft terrain and hard rocks as well. Roomy interior and cool enough for warm weather.

Merrell Moab - a great find! I had to replace an NB style that had been discontinued so I had the world to choose from. I visited the ZAPPOS web site on the advice of a friend who only purchases ZAPPOS shoes. I found this model. It is very comfortable and nice looking. I replaced the usual liner with a good orthotic and am very happy with the results.

I adore Merrell shoes and have many pairs that have always fit and performed well for me. This is the first pair that has ever fallen short in terms of fit. The arch support on the insole did not fit in the arch of my foot, but about 1/2-inch or so behind it...back toward the heel of my foot. Thinking it might be flaw unique to this pair; I went to a local shoe store and tried on three pair - 1) the same size, 2) a size up and 3) a size down. The size I'd chosen (7-1/2) turned out to be the correct fit, but all three that I tried on in the store had the same problem with the arch support placement - too far back. I liked the shoe otherwise and realize I could have purchased better-fitting insoles, but didn't feel I should have to incur additional expense.

I am really enjoying these boots so far. They are very comfortable and easy to wear right out of the box. Great arch support. VERY squeaky when you first wear them, but it goes away after you wear them for a day or 2. Bought the size I usually wear in shoes and it was the correct size.

I have a hard time with hiking shoes because many companies use a "shrink and pink" strategy for women's hiking shoes, simply taking the men's shoes and making them more feminine. These were designed under no such notion that the women who are hiking prefer smaller, pink-er versions of outdoor/active footwear (insert eye roll). As a hiker, I want the same beefy, substantial quality that is required for long difficult hikes. These deliver that perfectly. Customers today are more concerned with performance than appearance- and Merrell has done a wonderful job staying true to the utilitarian nature of their product. Love my new Moabs ��. Specifically regarding my order, I think the beluga color looks a little darker in the picture than in person- I was expecting it to be closer to black and it's more like a dark charcoal. My shoe size is usually somewhere between a 7 & 7.5- I ordered 7.5 to have room for a thick sock and these fit are perfect.

I ordered 8 pairs of potential hiking shoes from Zappos with the intention of trying them all on at home and returning all but the winning shoe. I focused only on shoes that were rated well for comfort. I'm all about the comfort. I was looking for good arch support; breathability in hot, desert conditions; quality construction and longevity; sturdy, non-slip soles that will expertly tackle roots and rocks; and a nice, comfy upper with plenty of room in the toe bed. Well, these Merrell Moab Ventilators won out over all of the other pairs! In truth, it was a close tie between the Ahnu Sugarpine Air Mesh and this Merrell shoe. I loved the Sugarpine Air Mesh! It comes in a variety of really cute colors and looks super cute on! It is not a traditional-looking hiking shoe. And I loved that about it. It also has a wide toe-bed and plenty of room and breathability. It's super lightweight. But in the end, I couldn't deny that this Merrell Moab Ventilator was probably the more practical, more sturdy, and more supportive shoe. This Merrell hugs my foot in such a great, supportive way! My foot is snug and comfy in Merrell's soft, breathable mesh upper. (The Ahnu Sugarpine Air Mesh felt significantly looser and roomier, which on first try-on, actually felt really great! But I was concerned that it might not offer quite enough support -- not in the upper, and not in the soles when handling rocks and roots.) I trust that these Merrell's will easily keep roots and rocks from digging into the bottom of my feet while hiking. And there was something about this shoe that made my feet and ankles feel very secure, even though this is a regular-height walking shoe, not a high-top. It still looks cute on, and it somehow makes my big feet look kind of small, but it is a more traditional-looking hiking shoe -- something that I kind of wanted to steer away from. Nevertheless, I couldn't deny that this Moab Ventilator was the shoe for me. I measure at a true size 11. I wear an 11 in nearly every shoe I buy. Occasionally, I wear a 12 in a running shoe or hiking shoe. And every now and then, I wear a 10 in a sandal. But primarily, I am a true size 11. And this shoe fit me perfectly in an 11, which leads me to believe that these Moab Ventilators run true to size. I wore these shoes all day long today, from sun-up to sun-down, and half a day yesterday. I wore them outdoors first thing in the morning to feed and water the birds, do some gardening, and clean out my bird feeders and bird baths. I wore them throughout the day while doing the dishes, vacuuming, and doing other chores. I wore them on several errands. I wore them while watering my garden beds in 102 degree weather. And I finished up the day with a 3-mile walk at 100 degrees on concrete sidewalks with an occasional detour into the woods to try out the footbed and soles. These shoes were perfect! My feet were extremely comfortable, cushy, and surprisingly sweat-free at the end of the day! My legs and ankles felt great! It was only after taking these shoes off that I remembered how heavy (in a good, protective way) and sturdy they were! These will be perfect for my upcoming desert hikes in a variety of Texas' national and state parks! I ordered the Sand color and am really glad I did. I actually like a handful of the colors, but I love that the Sand color is so natural and subdued. And I like the subtle purple accents a lot. These colors look great with all of my athletic and hiking wear.

Got these almost as fast as I put in the order. Wore them immediately and like butter. I went by the previous comments I ordered a half-size larger normal width and wasn't disappointed. There's plenty of room in the toe-box without needing a wide, and I have wide flat feet. I purchased these for a vigorous week-long class, and wore them straight out of the box for four full days of activity. Wonderful! Even my Saucony Shadows have not been this comfortable and I love my Sauconys. I think they're cute too. I bought the sand colored versions. But even if they had been ugly, you wouldn't have gotten them off my feet. I even wore them on the plane ride home from this trip, packing my travel shoes away. The only hitch was a blister on my foot from rubbing, but I attribute this to thin socks, full-day activities, and inheriting really bad feet for shoes. Love these shoes!

I have had four pairs of these shoes. They are the most comfortable, longest-lasting walking shoes I've ever owned. The larger toe box is especially good for my bunion needs.
