Bought these shoes for a trip to Sedona, AZ because we were going to do some hiking. Did not break them in at all. Wore sneakers for our first two hikes and my legs started hurting so decided to wear these shoes and give them a try. Felt great as soon as I started walking in them and legs felt much better! Wore them for the rest of the trip and I will wear them for walks at home also. Great support and very comfortable. So glad I bought these shoes!

These are very comfortable, and look reasonably ok for a hiking shoe. They are a little round, giving a bit of a "moon shoe" look, but hey, it's a hiking shoe. They fit very well. Much more comfortable than any hiking boot I have ever owned.

This is the second pair of Moab Ventilators I've purchased. Love these shoes! No break-in time. Comfortable from first day. I'm sure they won't be my last Merrel's. And as usual Zappo's fast shipping and customer service rocks.

I wore the Moab Ventilator for the first time on a rainy day and they were great. I hadn't rain-proofed them but they still did a great job with traction and keeping my feet dry. They were very comfortable. I'm glad others before me let me know they ran a little small, so I ordered the 8.5 instead of the 8 that I usually wear and they fit perfectly. I have been in search of a pair of comfortable hiking shoes for years. I usually wear Keen's, but have found a real sizing problem with them and can't seem to get the right size in any of their hiking models. I like the cushiony feel of these shoes. I don't know how they'd be on a real hike because they feel really light, I don't know how efficient they would be in the woods or on a trail. I bought them for a trip to Bryce and Zion National parks for this coming summer, and I don't need to break them in, they fit perfectly already. The one problem I did have with them is they pulled my socks down constantly. I'm hoping it was a problem with the socks and not the shoes...I will try them with different socks and see. I really recommend these shoes for all around walking, very comfortable!

Great shoe! Runs a bit small though. I had to return for a larger size. Not as comfortable as I had hoped, but love the look of them.

One of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. From the first time I put them on, they felt like I had been wearing them for weeks, no "breaking in" needed. I would recommend these shoes for walking/hiking/or just every day wear for comfort.

These are perfect. I purchased them for a trip we are taking in April to Hawaii, where we will be doing lots of hiking. In the meantime, here, they have weathered a couple of snowstorms perfectly. They are incredibly comfortable as well. I can't wait to see how they work out for our trip.

These are just like another reviewer said: wide toe box and narrow heel. That combo works great for me. They are true to size and extremely comfortable. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the most, the arch support is a 4.5 The inner sole is removable so the shoe accepts orthotics but you probably won't need to switch it out. The shoes are very sporty looking and have great traction on wet surfaces.

Love these shoes! I wear them for walking through the woods, when it's a little icy outside and just because they are comfy. Needless to say they look great with jeans & a sweatshirt! Depending on the thickness of socks determines if they feel true to size. I have a narrow heel but wear semi-thick socks so they fit me great. Merrell shoes are well made and last forever. I can always count on Merrell's to fit my feet perfectly. Highly recommend them. A+

The reviews on this shoe are all true. 5 stars. No break in period was fantastic. I choose to go up a size so I could wear them with thick socks.

I need the wide toe box and these have that and look great. I use a new balance orthotic and it fit in the shoe perfectly. After I wore them I purchased the black ones too.

I am returning it because it runs small and is too small for me but it feels comfortable otherwise.

These are the most comfortable sneakers I've ever owned. I paired them with a Birkenstocks insert. I can walk for miles without getting sore feet, which has been a problem for me in the last few years. I highly recommend them.

These are very comfortable shoes for hiking and walking. I have gotten many compliments on them and couldn't be happier. The fit is exactly as described. I have a very narrow foot/heel and they fit perfectly without any looseness. I got the regular fit; someone with a wider foot might need to order a wider size if available.

I love these shoes. I actually have an identical pair that I had for over 3 years and used for many hiking occasions. This new pair will serve as my "clean" pair to go around town rather than on the trail. They fit great and last forever with proper care.

These are terrific right out the box. Wore them on day one to hike around in the Red Rocks outside of Las Vegas on a vacation. The performed beautifully and are also a good and comfortable choice for travel. They look awesome and the light color goes with everything.

I live in the country, and I found out the hard way that my Mizuno Wave Riders could not cut it on muddy trails. Fast forward a couple of days: I decided to buy these Moab Ventilators based on the positive reviews and price point. They fit true to size. I wear a 9.5 or 10, always a size 10 in athletic shoes. The size 10 is perfect for me: roomy in all the right places and lighter in weight than the last pair of hiking shoes I bought. I like that Merrell has teamed up with Vibram for soles. I ordered the shade called 'Smoke', which looks true to the picture. Myths to dispel (for what it's worth): 1. There should never be a break-in period for athletic shoes. They should feel good from the get-go. 2. Don't be afraid to size a half size to a full size up. Women often wear shoes that are too small, and have convinced themselves that unless their feet feel completely bound by a shoe, the fit isn't right. Roomy is better so long as it's not too wide so as to compromise stability and promote blistering.

Before I purchased these shoes I did read several of the customer reviews to determine if I needed to size up from my regular size 10 or not. With running shoes, I generally will have to go to a 10.5, but other shoes no. I do have a different style of Merrell shoes that do fit in size 10 so I should have known better, but I went with the reviews that said they had to size up. I received the 10.5 and they were indeed too big. I could wear them, but it did annoy me that my heal slipped forward and it just didn't hug my foot well. I immediately reordered the shoe in size 10 so I could ensure they wouldn't be too small before I sent the 10.5 back. I got them in and the size 10 is perfect. So for me, there was no need to size up at all and they are very comfortable.

Two years ago I bought my first pair of Merrell's and I literally wore them every single day to walk in (okay, maybe I skipped, like, 3 days in 2 years). These shoes are well made and as long as they keep making them every two years or so I will buy another pair. My shoe size is 9.5 and a 10 fits me great because I walk up and down a lot of hills and for my exercise shoes I like to have a bit of room.

Super comfortable! Looks great! Toss-up between this and the Susanville. This looks more sporty, and has mesh fabric whereas the Susanville looks more outdoorsy and has leather/suede fabric.

I love these shoes. They are extremely comfortable and they didn't make my feet hot in the least. I wore them for light hiking in the mountains last weekend and loved them. I felt quite light on my feet! They're really cute too!
