These are great-looking shoes, and I was so excited to get them. However, they are just too wide and bulky for me. I normally wear a size 7, but ordered a 7½ because of the reviews. I am not sure if they are really too short, or if my feet just slid forward, but my toes are at the end. I cannot fault the shoes, but these just will not work for me.

I love these shoes. I started walking 5 miles a day on Minnesota gravel roads and found my "city" walking shoes just didn't cut it. These are perfect. I bought them a half a size larger along with the Smartwool trekking socks and my feet, ankles and legs are very happy.

I normally wear an 8½ but the 9 fits perfectly - even with my ¾ orthotic. Beluga color great for all year round. They are so comfortable. I cannot take them off. They have a nice big toe box with narrower heel.

This shoe is fantastic! Roomy in the toe box,soft and cushion material inside like a slipper. First day wore it on a 3 mile then second day on 7 mile hike on the AT and felt like I had been wearing them forever....the bomb! I normally wear a size 7 in a "street" shoe and 7.5 in running shoe, the 7.5 was perfect. The store wanted me to go to an 8 but that was way to big. I tried 10 different styles and various brands and this was the hands down winner for style, comfort and weight. Love this shoe!

I love these shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I've been buying this same style for the last four years (at least 8 pairs of them!) and I hope they never stop making them.

I purchased these about 2 weeks before a trip to Albuquerque. I figured that was plenty of time to break them in before hitting the pavement and the trails. Honestly, they did not need breaking in. They were so comfortable right from the get go! I have high arches and the fit was excellent.

Love them! I also tried the Merrell Siren Sport and the Calia but the Moab Ventilator was the most comfortable. A bit heavier than the other two styles but they felt the best and were comfortable from the start and no breaking in necessary. I normally wear a 7.5 so ordered an 8. They are just a tad bit long but still feel fine with a nice roomy toe box. They will accommodate heavier socks with no problem. Great heavy, non-skid soles for walking or hiking. Stylish without looking clunky.

I purchased this shoe for a two-week trip to Great Britain and was not disappointed. I have hard to fit feet (wide in the toe and narrow in the heel with high arches) and these shoes worked great. They are light-weight but provide plenty of support. I did not break these shoes in at all and had no problems. Not a single blister and they did not rub anywhere, and I walked several miles a day. I did purchase new insoles for higher arch support but ended up not using them as the ones that came with the shoes were more comfortable, Might need to try a half size up for more arch support. I tried on more than 40 pairs of shoes before I settled on this one. I highly recommend it.

I don't write reviews very often, but I felt compelled to do so for these shoes. I haven't owned a pair of Merrell shoes for about three years now. I keep holding out because I've been hoping they will go back to their bungee cord lacing rather than regular pull and tie lacing. My last pair of Merrell shoes had the bungee lacing and I loved them; I wore them till they were falling apart. Since, I haven't found a good pair of hiking shoes I love. I've tried Keen but they slip in my heel and I've tried other brands but was never satisfied. So, finally, I came back to Merrell and when I put these shoes one, it was like coming home for my feet. That may sound weird but it's the best way I can describe it. They aren't overly heavy like some hiking brands (which is good since I had ACL surgery many years ago now); the inside of the shoe feels like pillows or clouds. They are just amazingly comfortable and I can't make my feet go through another cycle without Merrell. These shoes made me fall in love with Merrell all over again.

These are some of the most comfortable walking sneakers I've had in a long time. I walk around 3 miles each day, and these are wonderful. Waterproof for wet days. The cushiony interior was a bit tight at first, but then molded to my feet. I love these guys!

Love these shoes! Just ordered my 4th or 5th pair - I haven't hiked in anything else for about a decade. They are also great for everyday wear.

I have a weak knee and I am very prone to falling, especially when going down slopes. These shoes were wonderful. I have never felt this safe hiking before. They provided great support and were absolutely not slippery on all kind of terrain.

Awesome shoe. True to fit. No break-in period. Bought them for an Alaska trip, brought two other pairs of shoes, then only wore these! I definitely will purchase again.

Super light and comfy right of of the box. No break in time needed. I immediately wore them for a multi hour hike over rough terrain. The tread is very stable. They are very breathable. My feet stayed comfortable all day.

This is the first pair of Merrell shoes I have owned and they definitely won't be the last! These shoes were so comfortable right out of the box. My first hike was over 10 miles with big elevation changes and a lot of uneven surfaces. They provided great stability and were more comfortable than the high end Nikes I wear for walking. No break in needed at all. These shoes were exactly what I was hoping for!

"Old Friend Feel" This shoe felt great right out of the box. I walked about the house for a bit (wearing my Injinji toe socks I bought with these shoes) then after determining that the fit was right (i.e., no slipping, no scrunched toes, no falling arches), I ventured out onto the driveway then on uneven ground to test the EVA midsole and Vibram sole. What a relief it is to finally have quality footwear! I could feel the ground but nothing jabbed into the soles of my feet or my heels. I endure the constant pain of Plantar Fasciitis and it was one review here that sold me on buying these shoes. I still feel the pain, but it’s not very noticeable with these shoes on my feet. I wore these on my walk to the office and was concerned that the heat wave would add discomfort to my feet. These shoes are well ventilated and I felt no heat at all. The Injinji socks helped too since they are the liner version (very thin) and have Cool Max in them to help keep my feet from sweating to death. I worked on my feet the whole time I was at the office (about four hours) and was not limping by the time I left to go home. Movements are easier for me now that I have great hiking shoes. Walking is a joy again and I’m liberated from NOT walking and staying at home a lot. I’ve tromped on gravel and stepped half on sidewalk half on an incline grassy area with no problems with ankle or foot stability. Great shoe. Zappos always has great service and I’m glad I bought these shoes. By the way, I wear size 7 in all but dress shoes, so with the thin Injinji socks and much walking, I had no issues at all with wanting to size down to a 6.5 size.

This is the second pair I have owned. Works well with my narrow heel and gives me enough room in the toe bed. Comfortable immediately out of the box. Light weight. And low enough so that I don't have problems with rubbing on my ankle bone due to my ankle pronation. Definitely a great shoe. Also tried the Ahnu Montara II but these were more comfortable.

These shoes truly don't need any breaking in which is invaluable. They are lightweight yet sturdy. I need a lot of ankle and arch support and they are supportive enough to help with these issues - I feel well aligned.

Excellent shoe! I have purchased it three times, replacing when the shoes wear out. They are really useful for long, long hours of walking or standing. They provide a substantial support surface to cushion your feet from the hard road surfaces.

Good light hiker. I was looking for something for warmer weather and shorter distance hiking. I had to return the first pair - one shoe was a half size smaller than the other though they were marked the same size. It was easy enough to return and order again. The next pair I tried on were fine. This has the roomy toe box I need. It also has a removable insole so I could use my custom orthotics. I used the shoes right out of the box, no break in required.

Bummer! This seemed like THE SHOE I was looking for but after wearing it around the house for only an hour or so my troublesome feet started hurting. I was even sitting for most of the time... My son has the man's version and says he has no problems with them. I guess it's just not the right shoe for me. Too bad and back to the drawing board, I guess. I have to say I love the free shipping and returns at Zappos! I would never be able to buy shoes online without it and they have such a great selection compared to going to the local store.

I was SO happy with these shoes. I bought them for an overseas trip where I was going to do a lot of walking and some hiking. I wanted a lightweight hiking/walking shoe. I have a wide foot and have trouble finding comfortable shoes. I wore these for 2 hours on carpet in my office to give them a shot and then wore them on the plane and for most of my 10-day trip. No soreness, no blisters. And, as the top review states there was plenty of room in the shoe without needing to buy a wide. I got a half size up from my regular size.

I wore these for the first time to hike a category III mountain to 13,500 ft. It was almost 5,000 ft of elevation gain and about 9 hours of hiking. Didn't get a single blister and felt comfortable and supported all day.

Great comfort and support right out of the box. Love these shoes! I bought them at a time of need - was in the mountains and learned I did not have appropriate shoes so I bought these on the spot. I did have to size up. They saved the day and my vacation. Note: I always buy my shoes from Zappos, but this was an emergency! Next pair will come from Zappos, where I buy 99% of my shoes!

This is the most comfortable shoe of my entire life. I bought them for hiking on vacation, but I wear them almost every day. I was a little hesitant at first because they seem a little heavy, but I literally forget I have shoes on when I wear these. They are unbelievable. I even sent my mother a pair and she couldn't get over how fabulous they were. I thought they ran really small. I normally wear a size 8 to 8.5 in an athletic shoe, but I ended up needing a 9 in these. I have no idea if other Merrell shoes are this great, but these are the best thing ever. I might buy another pair asap in case this style gets discontinued.
