There was a little bit of rubbing at my ankle, but it was not bad at all just noticeable. Very hard to keep clean too. If dirt or mud gets on the cloth it is hard to get out.

I used to be true to Reebok shoes, but lately had trouble finding my size(even on Zappos.com), so I started looking at other brands. Asics are close if not better quality than Reebok, I don't think I will go back to wearing Reeboks. I know I will never buy shoes in a store again, Zappos.com is so easy to use and find what you are looking for, if what you are looking for is not in stock you can have Zappos.com e-mail when it does come in(I don't know of any shoe store that would do that).

Good training shoe, great value - I used to wear New Balance exclusively because they come in wide widths; luckily Asics is doing the same. I now own two pair of Asics and love them. What I like about this shoe: -Good training shoe for the gym (cardio, weights/resistance, bike), and even some racquetball. -More supportive and better motion control than a running shoe. What I'm not crazy about- -Shoe runs 1/4 size small for me (11 in these, but my other pair of Asics is a 10 1/2); I went with the bigger size which was the way to go. For buying I'd almost recommend trying both on to compare. -Sizing compared to other Asics shoes...see above. -Laces are a bit long; if you bike a lot this could be tricky. Overall, for the price I am very pleased. It's a great training shoe, and is very comfortable to work out in. Plus...I have to say I really like buying from Zappos.

Black Shoes - I have difficult feet to fit for shoes. I had club feet when I was born. I have been doing a lot of running lately, I'm actually training for a marathon. I was fitted for a pair of Asics in a running store and soon found that the only time that I didn't experience pain was when running in the Asics. I searched to find a black pair of Asics in a 4-E to wear to school. I teach and spend a lot of time on my feet. These Asics have so far worked well. The fit is a bit different than the running shoe, but they work far better than any other shoe that I have used for work and extended wear. I use the shoe with orthodics. I simply can't walk or run without the orthotics.

These shoes are really nice - These shoes are a little small for the size, but they are really comfortable and I would recommend them.

This shoe runs wider than most - The medium width fits like a wide shoe. It is a good quality shoe but a bit heavier and wider than comparable shoes.

Great shoe - So far this has been an excellent shoe. It does have a wide toe box which may be a problem for some. I am able to tighten up laces to over come extra space. Otherwise Shoe is exactly what I wanted and very consistent with other Asics I own.

Stiff - Compared to my old Asics, find these a little stiff. Taking longer to break in. Being an LSU fan, love the colors!

An OK everyday shoe - I work at a job where I have to wear a shirt and tie. It also requires me to walk as much as 4 miles in an 8-10 hour shift. ALL of my casual shoes eventually cause me foot pain or discomfort. I bought these to change out of those type shoes. I run with Asics and found them to be the best shoe I've ever worked out in. These on the other hand seem a bit less comfortable in the soles, but still a whole lot better than ANY of my other casuals. Result: less pain and discomfort in my feet at the end of the day.

Sides too high - The sides of this shoe are too high and too stiff. They rub against the side of my ankle and are very uncomfortable. The Asics Gel Equation has a much more comfortable side profile.

Not comfortable for me - These seemed too stiff for me. It felt more like a hiking boot than a pair of sneakers. I returned them and bought a pair of New Balance 621.
