These are amazing, very comfortable. I went up a size from what I normally wear in Frye. As a result, they're a bit roomier in the foot but easier to get on & off.

I saw these on Zappos and was immediately in love! I ended up ordering my normal size, 7½ and an 8 since a lot of reviews had mentioned that these ran smaller than some Fryes. On the first attempt, it was almost impossible to get the 7½ on my feet. I remember having the same difficulty with my Melissa Button boots that I bought a year ago. Now those fit perfectly, so I decided to keep trying. Besides, the 8 felt a little looser from the beginning, and I figured that they would stretch considerably by the time they were broken in. The 7½ are a lot easier to get on after a few attempts, so I think I am going to stick with them. One thing to note is that the shaft is a bit narrower than some Frye boots that I have somewhat more athletic calves, so they do not look as wide/slouchy as some cowboy boots might. Also, these have a very comfortable footbed with a little cushioning, which is great. I would probably recommend ordering a few sizes, but do not fret if at first you try them on and they seem impossibly snug!

I love Frye and Lucchese. My favorite Frye style is the Billy pull on. It is Western and cool, without being overly Western. It is very comfortable for standing and walking all day. I always put an arch support in mine though. The brown vintage us soft and comfy, easy to pull on. The Black stone wash is very hard to pull on, even though I sized up a half size! However, once on they feel amazing! You may have to struggle getting them on for a week or two until they loosen up. I had to use a plastic bag over my foot the first few times I put them on. They will give somewhat. I do wear medium thick wool socks with them. I now own 4 pairs of the Billy pull on and love them all! Great quality and comfy! They look great with flared jeans, leggings, skirts, skinny jeans. I love love love them!!!

Beautiful boots - very well made and attractive. Soft leather. Fit true to size. I wear an 8 and got an 8 in these - perfect. Not much padding on insole - may want to buy inserts.

I really like these boots. They are my first pair of Fryes. Very comfortable, but difficult to take off. I've only worn them a couple of times. Hoping they will get easier to take off the more I wear them. I got the chocolate color. They look distressed and broken in.

These Frye boots are a beautiful piece of art. I want to display them when I'm not wearing them. Had to order 1/2 size up. Plan to add an extra 10 minutes to your getting dressed routine to get these beauties off & on. It is an understatement to say they are difficult to get on & off, but fear not, once on they are comfortable. For the first time I had them on for a few hours with a straight leg jean over the boot. There was no sign of bulging through the pant legs at the top of boot. Very clean and classic look and darn right sexy! Can't wait to wear them with skirts and skinny jeans. Looking forward to breaking them in!

I loved these boots, I had to buy them a size bigger than I wear, but they are so comfortable and such quality. I wore them for 18 hours and had no issues with comfort. They're beautiful in person.

I wear a 9 1/2 always. Unless it is a super pointy high heeled shoe. I ordered the 10 based on the reviews. It was impossible to even get on my foot. I recommend possibly ordering 1 1/2 sizes larger. Extremely disappointed. Beautiful boot.

Ordered the chocolate vintage leather. I like the color...I don't love it...yet. I feel like it may be one of those pairs of shoes in which you really like them, but then you after awhile you love them. Anyway, I ordered my normal size and they were fine. Like many others have said, hard to get off, (gave 4 stars for comfort) but easier each time I tried them. I am going to order the tan/brownish ones and see if I like that color better.

I wanted to write a review because I read several that talked about the boot being a whole size small. I ordered my normal size and it fit fine. However, when I first tried to put the boot on I did not think it was going to fit! But I put it on with a sock and as I've been wearing it around the house it has loosed. I do think I could go up a half size and still be ok with thicker socks, but then I think it would flop around too much. Frye sizing is very unpredictable. That said I love this boot! Styling is great and I am not a "cowgirl" boot type, but I think the distressing on the black looks very cool and can't wait to wear it with jeans. Very comfortable and not as clunky and heavy as the campus.

I own several pair of Frye boots and they are all a size 9.5. I went ahead and ordered a 9.5 despite the warnings they run a small and unfortunately had to return and re-order the 10's. They do run short and a bit narrow. Just FYI! Thankful for Zappos super fast shipping so I can still have them for the weekend! (Beautiful boots though!)

These are beautiful boots. You'll need a good half size larger than your usual shoe size (I exchanged them quickly, Zappos employee Amanda was great). Once you have the right size, they fit great, but you have to push & push your your feet into them. The problem is getting them off! It actually hurts. The boots are narrow everywhere, which is why they look so great once on. Just try pointing your feet enough to pull them off...it's a struggle, especially if you have high arches. So I'd say to Frye: think about a zipper? I know, sacrilege.

It pained me to return these because they look amazing and are well-made, as are all Frye products I've purchased. They were very difficult to get on and off, and seemed a bit narrow, even after wearing around the house for quite awhile. I may try a half size up. They are pricey, and I want them to fit perfectly!

Love this boot! It is very pretty and comfortable once you get it on. It is a pull on and initially it was very hard to get the boot on. You need to wear it quite a few times to break in the top of the boot. After wearing it a few times, it is getting a bit easier to pull the boot on and off.

The boot is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The only downside is it is so difficult to get on and off. But after wearing them several times and pulling them on and off the become easier and soften up. Do not order any size other than your true size. The foot part of the boot fits and feels great!

I ordered the Dark Brown Old Town and the color and stitch detail are both beautiful; however, the boot runs extremely small. I am an 8.5 in every pair of shoes I own, but this pair was nearly impossible to get on (and required my boyfriend to help me get the boots off my feet after I got them on). Needless to say, I am going to try to get a bigger size (9 or 9.5) and cross my fingers that they fit because they are gorgeous!

Bought these for my girlfriend's birthday because she likes the look of the Billy Pull On. Unfortunately, the shaft circumference is too narrow. Medium width is misleading. She is normally a size 7.5. We originally ordered size 8 based on the reviews and she couldn't even get her left ankle down. We returned them and went up another .5 size. Same problem with the left ankle, but then found the right foot was too loose and she was slipping around.

Darker than I expected but still a lovely dark brown. I'm a runner so I have narrow ankles and semi-large leg muscles. love the shape, not too pointy and the tip of the shoe stays down. I'm not loving where my leg muscle meets the upper portion of the boots - too snug for comfort, it does not look good on me. I may have to select a different type. These boots will look good with thinner legs.

I got these in Chocolate Vintage and I love the color. This color does not have the stitching on it and makes them more versatile. They are cowboy boots but without being "too country." I think they seem narrow, but I have very narrow feet so that works for me. I had no trouble pulling them on or off. They will definitely take some breaking in, but that's to be expected with high quality leather.

I was a little leary about this order after reading everyone's reviews concerning sizing. I will say the following: They are beautiful. I ordered a 7.5 and that is the size I would normally wear. They are difficult to get on, but once on, they fit beautifully. I have a narrow foot and very small calves and they look great, so many boots are huge around my calves. They are stiff, and I suppose that's where the sizing confusion comes into play. Hard to get my foot down the upper and then bend into the actual foot space. Also hard to get off. Reminds me of when my grandfather use to ask me to help him removing his cow boy boot! I will keep them and assume they stretch, but even if they don't I love them.

These boots have definitely been worn. Heels are worn down on the back and scuff on boot by the sole. I really like the look, very cool boots! But I don't want used boots. Disappointing

Due to others comments, I ordered a size larger than my normal (11 instead of 10). They are going back since I wasn't wowed by them, but they will make someone happy I'm sure. In the end not worth the high price.

I disagree with the reviews that said they run small, I found the opposite to be true. I would not size up but go down a half size. Other than being large they were comfortable. Oddly enough compared to other Frye products I own these look cheaper?

I'm 4'10" so the shaft height would have worked well as an almost "knee-high" for me. Unfortunately it is too narrow on top and I'm returning mainly due to size. However, the distress is much more than the image depicts. Feels very rough. The inner is also rough. I'd worry that my socks/stockings will snag.
