I had read all the reviews about sizing and had originally ordered these in an 11 (my normal size is 10 and I wear a 10 in the Melissa Buttons). The 11's were HUGE on my feet and only fit comfortably if worn with thick socks. Luckily, I was able to have a pair of 10's quickly shipped to hopefully repair my shattered boot dreams.As other reviewers have said, these, right out of the box, almost didn't want to go on my foot but I persevered and once my foot was in, the boot fit like a glove. It only took a few times to break them in to not be a hassle. I wore them right out of the box and was in love. The color is beautiful, the boot is beautiful but it's definitely a design for skinny feet and skinny calves

Love the color and style. I ordered an 8.5 based on reviews, but found it was too big. My normal 8 fit perfectly.

These are my new go to boots! I found the sizing to be true, if not a little big. I went half a size up and almost wish I hadn't.

These are gorgeous boots and very well made. I liked them so much in fact that I bought another pair in black.

I like to keep boots for a long time, so I am always looking for quality. These live up to Frye's reputation - they are well made, beautiful (already received compliments), comfortable, and actually smell like leather rather than chemicals.

Good, sturdy American made boots and exactly what I wanted. First few times, it's a bit hard to pull on and off, but as the leather molds to my foot, it gets better. Think these will last a long time.

I loved these boots from the minute I struggled to put them on! After the first attempt it was easy. I could not make my mind up between the brown and black as they are both gorgeous. I eventually chose the brown. Zappos amazing service put them outside my door in less than 24 hours after the order was submitted. Despite the other reviews I ordered my usual size and I am very happy I did so.

I normally always wear an 8' to be safe I ordered an 8 and 8 1/2, had to return both bc couldn't get my foot in them!! Loved the look so much I order a nine! That worked! And not really that much too big!

These boots are perfect! Just what I was looking for. Beautiful color, leather is excellent quality as always from Frye. I'm only adding to the numerous positive reviews to say that in my case these were true to size. I'm always a size 7 but I heeded the advice of previous reviews and ordered half a size bigger. Turns out they were a little too big, I'm returning for a size 7. Thank you Zappos for quick, easy and free shipping, I love you and almost never buy shoes for myself or my family anywhere else.

I love these boots! I ordered my regular size and a half-size larger, based on the reviews, and had no trouble pulling either pair on... my feet and ankles are pretty skinny. I kept the larger pair because it seemed to fit a little better. They are quite comfy right out of the box, and will be perfection once broken in a bit. I walked over a mile in them the second time I wore them. I do agree that the tag sewn inside them is insane, it will (as everyone says) cut your leg or tights to ribbons. I carefully removed the tags with a seam ripper and they are fine now.

These are my fave frye boots! I have 7 pairs. Just got them last year. Wore them constantly and plan to do the same as soon as the weather cools here in the South. They do not shout COWBOY! Just cute and subtle. Brown has variations in the color and go with everything. Once I broke them in, I added a small insole, which I do with all Frye because my feet are narrow.

I LOVE THESE BOOTS. However, word of warning: definitely order a size bigger than you normally wear...not so much for the shoe portion of the boot, but because the shaft is incredibly narrow, and you will want to at some point remove these boots. These boots are amazing--I have gotten so many compliments and cannot wait to wear them this spring and summer with dresses. Definitely a purchase I do not regret--I will wear these forever, so for me, the price was for sure worth it.

I don't have wide feet & I'm not flat footed. I wear a 6 1/2 / 7 boot. Bought both sizes and had to return them. The 6 I couldn't get on. The size 7 I go pull on only by using the bag trick. I bought a 7 1/2 and they fit. I do have room from the top of the boot to the top of my big toe. If I put a thick sock on, I don't slide too much. When I put a thinner sock on I have more room to move around. I think trying on a few sizes will help. The boots look good with skirts, jeans, and shorts. The detail on the boots are pretty and the leather is nice. My hole family has worn Frye for many years. They last a long time. I can tell you that if you try another boot on in the Frye family you might not be the same size. Also with other brands.

Contrary to other reviewers, I didn't find these particularly small. I have large feet (between 9-10 in women's based on the type of shoe), and I ordered a 9.5, which is my standard for boots. If anything, the pointed toe might be a problem for those with wider feet than mine, but in terms of length and room in the heel, the 9.5 was true to size for me. I was also happy to find that the boots are structured and hold their shape, yet the leather is pliable enough for comfort. (I've tried some similarly-priced westerns that are just rock solid, terribly uncomfortable and clunky around the ankles/calves.) I got the dark brown color, which I'm happy with -- but I would say it's more chocolatey and has less of a warm tone than the photo shows. If you want a warmer, glowier brown, you might want to go for the lighter "old town" shade, or get both to compare in real life (kind of wish I'd done that). As a side note, these are also worth the price -- I finally decided it was time to invest in a good pair of boots that I'll have for a long time rather than buying several consecutive cheaper pairs (which has been more expensive in the long run). A pair like this might hurt the wallet initially, but it's better than continuing to shell out money for boots that fall apart after a season despite good care.

Tried a 9 and a 9 1/2 but ended up with the 9 1/2, which was a very little bit too loose. The length was perfect. (The 9 wouldn't go on with a sock.) I added an inexpensive thin gel insole from the drug store and the 9 1/2 ended up being the perfect fit. Theses were worth figuring something out to make them work. They are very soft and comfortable as well as pretty. I loved the black distressed but had to settle for the brown since black was sold out in my size. I would never even bother to order from another store and risk the hassle of returns. Zappos rules that!

I love these but am awaiting another pair 1/2 size lower just to check and see which fit better. They are cute, not too pointy, not too cowboy, just right! The leather of the shaft is soft and the stitching is pretty.

Love the boots! Definitely went for the larger size and I a glad I did. Love the color and the feel! Honestly, with the right fit, no break I. Time was required! So happy.

I'm usually a 7 or 7.5 and had to order a 8.5 in order for my foot to even get in the boot, and even with the 8.5 it was painful and almost impossible. These shoes are cute, and comfortable once you actually wear them, but the hassle it caused getting these on and off isn't worth it. I returned them.

This is my first pair of boots so take what I say with this in mind. I bought a pair of Ariats and was a size 7.5 but returned them because the did not have a leather sole. I bought the 7.5, the 8, and the 8.5 just to see which fit better and the 8 was perfect. I really love my boots and am glad to have spent the money on them.

Love these boots. Although they seem sturdy, they are not stiff. Comfortable and flexible. Stylish and could wear them to the rodeo (to watch not to ride). Bought a more traditional cowboy boot and returned because they were a little too cowboy. Love these! Worth the extra money I spent.

This boot is BAD, and by that I mean AWESOME! The only thing I would alert potential buyers to is that it runs very NARROW. It's a great fit for me, because I have a slim foot. Medium & wide feet might want to reconsider. But, BEAUTIFUL!

I love these boots! They look great with dresses, they are comfortable and I love the chocolate vintage color! I have two daughters ages 18 and 21, and they both want a pair of these boots. I did buy a half size larger than I usually wear and they fit perfectly. I couldn't be happier!

Love these boots! They are super comfy and offer padding in the sole. Were hard to get on at first but now a breeze. They do run small so order up a half size. I couldn't even get the 8 on. Just ordered my second pair in black stone wash!

Love my new boots! I wear usually an 8 or 8 1/2, and based on the reviews ordered the 8 1/2 and it fits great. I wear mine with boot socks, and together they are so comfortable -- can wear them all day and night and still feel great. Love the color a well -- has grays and browns so goes with everything. :-)
