Shoes were scuffed on the sides.

The leather is stiff and after a season wearing them, they are still tough. The shoe presses on the top of my foot and it hurts to wear these. I wonder if the suede would have been more comfortable since it’s softer. Maybe it would not have pressed on my foot with as much pressure.

These seem like real Birkenstocks but they came in a nondescript box, not the typical blue Birkenstock box and the tag was just in the box with the shoes, not attached to the shoes. They are also stiffer than usual Birks and just seem off. For over $130 - they should be better brand represented. Previous Birks I purchased, the sole came halfway off and Birkenstock offered nothing, no coupon, no apology, nothing. The brand just seems to be in extreme decline, possibly can't handle that they are now popular with teens and they don't have the manufacturing or capacity to fill orders in a professional way. It's too bad, used to be a very reliable brand. Zappos delivery was quick, but their warehouse must have something to do with just throwing a pair of shoes in a box and sending them off.

This isn’t my first pair of Birkenstocks, but my previous pairs have all been open-toed. I was surprised by the poor condition they arrived in. While I know that oiled leather scuffs easily, these were extremely scuffed and the toe area especially looked worn and like it had seen a lot of friction. There were a couple of indentations in the leather on the sides, and I could tell from the footbed and the loose/ripped-off tag/elastic piece in the box that these were a return. It didn’t help that they weren’t wrapped in any sort of paper and were just loose in the box. The soles did look new, but I shouldn’t need two coats of a conditioning cream to get brand new shoes to look acceptable for wear (still not new- they very much look like a seconds-quality shoe). The gluing of the layers was not as neat as on my older Birks, but the arch support is as great as always. My only other complaint is that the shape of the strap isn’t really cut to the shape of the shoe. It puckers upward slightly at the edge closest to your ankle. I would have liked to wear these on the smallest buckle-hole but they looked so puckered and awkward that way that I opted for one wider- which still looks awkward but is passable. I would only buy oiled leather Birkenstocks in person in the future to ensure that they don’t look like someone took sandpaper to them, but because I can’t drop these off anywhere to return them I’m going to cut my losses and make them work. I would say four stars for this style of shoe overall, two stars for the condition Zappos sent them to me in. I split the difference at 3.

the fit, width & arch support are great. However. the pair you sent are NOT black, they are a charcoal grey. Which I don't mind, but it's NOT what I ordered. I didn't appreciate that they came in an unmarked generic brown box - no indication that there were Birkenstocks in the box. I'm torn between returning them & keeping them. Some sort of a credit would be nice since they are NOT what I ordered.

The material feels too hard for my feet.

Did not look like displayed images. It did not have that oiled look to it and was just a solid taupe color instead of having that brown dimension to it. Was quite disappointed but had to wear them because I needed them for work. If not I would have returned. Unfortunately I’m pretty disappointed.

I love the Birkenstock narrow footbed fit. This shoe comes only in the regular but I decided to try it. Doesn't work at all for me.

I usually wear an 8 in women's and got a 39, returning and getting a 38. Super cute though, a little different than the suede ones everyone is getting and I like that about them.

It was comfortable, true to size etc -my issue was personal- I did not like the look with leggings !

I ordered this normal footbed pair after buying a soft footbed pair from a local shop. I have a wide foot but the soft footbed felt comfy enough, when I tried the normal footbed my foot felt too wide and the leather was rough and and irritating. If you have a larger than avg foot, I'd go with the soft food bed version.

I was disappointed because I needed a narrow. Narrows are hardly ever available. So, I bought a medium and it was HUGE in width and length. Almost seemed like it was sized wrong?????

So I loved these at first, but there were some issues, which led me to returning them as defective: 1) The color inside the shoe was coming off on my feet and socks, all the time. At the end of the day, my socks would be yellow/brown from the leather dye, as well as the suede dye in the foot bed, it was terrible. 2) The foot bed on the left shoe had a toe bar that was way more prominent than the right shoe, which was uncomfortable 3) After trying them in my house for a few days, they felt like they stretched all over, which shouldn't happen for at least a year I spoke with Zappos Customer Service and they agreed that I should return them for a full refund. I have read some people having issues with the Birkenstock dyes coming off in the past, but it was supposed to have been corrected, so I guess buy at your own risk because it appears to still be happening :( Outside of these issues, the arch support is amazing, love the heel cup, but yeah I'm not pleased with the quality control as of current.

Liked the fit and size. The color wasn't as in the photo, its was more of a taupe/beige grey....not tobacco which I thought would be more tan. I'm returning them.

These probably would have been comfortable if they weren’t enormous. I let Zappos pick my size and it was just huge. They also felt wide.

while the rest of the footbed felt great, there was not enough room for my big toe... never thought I had a particularly long big toe. Oh well, had to return.

They fit in length, but they were way too wide. I have a wider toe box but a narrow midfoot. Even at the smallest setting of the strap they would not stay on my feet.

I’m so sad I’ve been wanting these shoes for years and I finally FINALLY got them and they turned out to be a size too big for me. I look like BOSO the clown with them. Now I have to return and get a size smaller. I’m so SAD!!!!!!!!!!! I’m crying I really wanted to wear these this week not I have to wait another week. ?

I have had the Birkenstock Clog before,I just wish they came in a narrow width.Otherwise I am a satisfied wearer of these comfy shoes

I was really hopeful about the shoes. I am a nurse and walk hours on hard floors. I love berkenstocks but can't have the open toes at work. I found these to feel like I was going to slip out of them. No grip and they didn't seem like the arch was in the correct place.

In my opinion the support was (POOR) and the (COLOR) Wasn't a Deep BLACK. Will I buy again I will have to think about it as the amount didn't surprise me since it was suppose to be a Birkenstock Shoe but said that it was a Very Sad Shoe as I have brought them from stores who Support the Product.

Unfortunately, the bed on these clogs are not the most comfortable. But they are cute. I ended up returning after trying them on though because I wasn't a huge fan of the bed on the clogs and the texture of the top is meant to look more worn but I wasn't a fan of these in person although I normally loveeee Birkenstock.

I wear the Birkenstock Gizeh's and always get a size 36 in those. They fit PERFECTLY and are the best shoe I've ever worn! In sneakers, boots & other shoes I usually wear a 7 simply bc my toes go straight across (unlike a tapered top of foot). I got the 37 of these thinking I'd wear socks with them but even with socks they are too big on me. When I walk the top of my foot doesn't touch the top of the shoe soon enough so it feels like work just keeping the shoe on. The toe box is super wide even for me. I did not find them attractive at all so they are going back!

Unfortunately this style only comes in regular width. I usually take a narrow, but I thought I’d try them out. Regular is way too wide for a women’s size. I’m sending them back and ordering something else that comes in narrow. Too bad, I otherwise Ike the look of the oiled leather with the original footbed. Hunks for the free returns.
