These came up when I search for wide calf boots. The reviews seemed to indicate that they may not really be wide calf, so I tried ordering a wide width to get extra room in the calf. No luck about 1/2" too small with skinny jeans on. Very unfortunate because these are fabulous boots. Zappos, please fix your database and product specs!

I really wanted to like this boot, but it just did not fit my foot. I have a fairly normal foot, not too wide, not too narrow, don't really have high arches, but I just could not get my foot in the boot! I never even got to the point where I would be able to zip it up, so I have no idea whether it would fit my calves! Boo!

It's a beautiful boot, but very tight across my instep and therefore unwearable. I don't normally have any issues with this. I did order 1/2 size larger, but I could still barely get the boot on.

I wear a 6W - technically, that is what I measure. I have some boots that are 7M that fit OK. I ordered these boots in a 6W. They are beautifully crafted. It seems like they would be nice, sturdy boots to wear all winter. I was disappointed that they were very tight when I tried them on. I returned that pair and ordered a 6½W. Again, these boots were very tight. I have concluded that they must run narrow.

After reading the wonderful reviews, I was very excited to order these boots. I ordered my size (7) in a wide as I have somewhat wide calves and a wide foot. Unfortunately, I must return them as they are too tight in the foot and around the calves. I would not recommend these boots if you have calves larger than 15" and a wide foot.

Loved the look of these boots, but the shape and style just did not suit my feet. They looked very long and felt tight and narrow on my feet.

Other people have said this and believe them. If you have a small foot (me: 6.5) and you don't have thin calves, this boot won't fit. Too bad. It is gorgeous. But the boot circumference for a size 9 may be 16.5, but it is smaller for a 6.5 size boot (Boo!). Dumb assumption of the boot designer that if you have a small foot you must have a narrow calf. Beautiful boot, but I've got to return it.

The boot top is very small. I don't have big calves, and I couldn't even zip these. They are really cute, and the leather looks really nice.

Love these boots, but the shaft is way too small. My calves are not at all big, nor are they skinny, but I couldn't even zip these up! There is a DRAMATIC difference between the shaft circumference stated in the description versus what you actually get. Also, similar to other reviewers, these do feel very narrow in the foot and ankle. I have a narrow foot, but I ordered a medium because of the reviews. They still felt very tight, although they'd likely stretch out after a few wears. The style is great and the tread is very strong, I just wish the shaft measurements were more accurate for all sizes.

The 16.25 calf circumference does not seem accurate. The boots were a couple inches from closing over my 16 inch calves. I'm disappointed as I really like the look of them.

These did NOT fit an "athletic" calf. I measured my leg against the calf circumference given and it was more than an inch too small. Have to return them.

These were huge! At least a full size bigger than they were supposed to be. On the fence about reordering in a smaller size. The did look well made and like they would handle the snow well.

These are gorgeous boots. Unfortunately I had to return due to the athletic calf being not as big as mine. I agree with other reviewers in that the foot looks very long in large sizes due to the thin ankle. I could zip this boots, but no way get jeans inside. I am sorry to see them go.

While these boots are cute, and I was looking forward to wearing them, don't expect them to fit if you have the least bit of wide feet! They also run a little bit long. I ordered the wides and they felt more narrow than some normal width shoes I own. Disappointed, I am.

Really nice looking boot, great brown color and nice leather. Unfortunately even with the buckle all the way loosened the boot did not fit my calf so I must return. The toe does feel narrower and longer than other boots I\'ve worn but the look is really nice. Sorry to have to return them!

An odd fit - I was excited when I found these because they looked nice enough for city wear, but rugged enough to wear around a ranch on a rainy day, and the price was good. I was really disappointed when they came; they fit wrong all over. My calf is about 15 inches around, and I have a wide size 7 foot. I could hardly get them zipped, and the ankle felt really tight, too. The foot felt comfortable enough, but the boots were really long in the toe, giving the whole thing a sort of odd cowboy boot look. They made my feet look huge, especially when I tried them on under jeans. I returned the boots and will probably spring for Fryes instead.

The arch was way too low on these for me. I couldn't get my foot into the boot. I imagine you would have to have pretty flat feet to get into these comfortably.

While the boot is visually appealing, it does not fit an athletic calf (lower or upper). Could barely zip up the last few inches of the boot. The boot bunches considerably at the ankle, and the lining fabric is rough and resembles burlap. Also, the adjustable strap is deceiving, as the adjustment is minute. For a boot that pitches itself as athletic it fell massively short - I am 5'4" and wear a 2 regular and 2/4 petite depending on hip cut. I have shapely calves but they aren't massive. The boot was true to size for my foot, but if you can't wear 7.5W pointy shoes this will probably not be wide enough for you.

These boots are really nice; they fit me well in the foot, and were extremely comfortable there. The leather is good quality, supple and matte, not shiny, very much like they are pictured here. But very unfortunately, the shaft circumference is not what it says in the description, so be aware of this. My left calf is wider than my right and measures 15 at the widest part. The description says these boots are 16.25 in circumference, which should leave me room for skinny jeans inside, but in reality they are 14.25. I measured, so I'm sure of this. I had to return them and was very disappointed because they were awesome in every other way. Zappos, please correct this error in the description.

This was my first purchase with Zappos, and though I've heard great reviews from friends, I was not pleased. The boots have definitely been worn. There's junk sticking to the bottom and part of the leather was worn off so the black part underneath showed. I'm returning them. Also, these do not fit a wide foot and were too tight to fit my 14'' (at the widest part) calves. I couldn't zip them up.
