I have these in dove grey suede and have had an older version in black suede about 15 years ago. I don't find these limited to skinny legs and narrow feet at all! I am 5'10" and have a 17" calf. The first time these babies went on...yeah...it wasn't pretty. I was also mindful of where my fingernails were so I didn't mark the boots at the top. However, there was a little give in the first wear or two and now they are a dream to get on and off. I would expect that if one's calf wasn't stretching out the material, then there would be negligible give. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. These are in the ouch department on cost...if they were less expensive, I would be back to buy them in every color! Maybe Weitzman folks need to consider that lowering the price point would not affect their profits too badly since their sales volume would skyrocket if more folks could get these without guilt.

Please, Please... listen to the advice of others-this boot really does run at least a 1/2 size larger. I am between sizes 8.5 and 9. I bought a size 9 and these boots looked like clown shoes on me. I returned them and reordered an 8. The 8 fits much much better, and although the boots still have bunching at the ankles, it is a lot less than before. These are gorgeous boots from the front, but still trying to get used to the back part with the vertical line in the middle.

Wanted so badly to keep these, but they are just too tall. I am 5'5", and these come up too high on my leg. They are very comfortable and gorgeous in person; I can see why there are so many fans. If only Stuart Weitzman would make a 50/50 that hits at the knee instead of so far over it. This boot runs large. Definitely order 1/2 size down, as some other reviewers have suggested.

I purchased 11w blue suede. I like the boots, except few things. First the sole leaves black markings on the floor at work. The sole edges are the culprit of this. The marking is a big issue for me, in the end of work day our light floors are criss cross with black lines from my shoes. Coworkers actually complain. This is more then nuisance and quite surpassing for such an expensive shoes. This is also the reason i gave only three stars. Second thing i do not like is the suede,i wish i purchased the black leather ones. I think that the suede actually appears to make the legs larger and even tough I nicely smooth it in the morning, by the time i arrived to work the suede appears dirty. There are lines from where the boot bends. Other than that the boot is comfortable, my feet hurt in most of shoes, not in these. These shoes get you noticed. I am 6 ff tall and have long legs and i am quite overweight, yet the boots fit well. The top ends in middle of my knee. I wear it with only dresses or skirts that go below my knee due to the fact that I simply do not look nice in skinny jeans. The jeans would also not fit inside the boot.

The quality of the nappa leather is great. I just tried them on and I'll use them next winter. The style is a classic. One concern if the fact that they don't have a zipper. It's easy to put them on, but taking them off stretches the elastic fabric on the back. I am pretty sure that over time the back will look lose. I think they should have at least a small zipper at the calf as most boots do.

Very disappointed. The shaft is way too tall. I am 5'4" and the shaft came over the back of my knee which pushed the boot down making it bunch up and causing it to rub the back of my heel. I bought a pair of Weitzmans last year that were similar to these 50/50's but a flat with a hidden wedge and a much shorter shaft. I was trying to replace them as I wore those almost everyday last fall/winter. They are the most comfortable boots i have ever owned. I have a problem with flat shoes and boots slipping and rubbing my narrow heel. I will now take my original pair to the shoemaker and have them shined up and renewed. Wish Stuart Weitzman the 50/50 with a shorter shaft for average height people.

Those boots don't sit on the foot like the picture they are expanding and it looks bad, poor quality, after a month and a half the inner sole of my left boot came out. I'm not recommends, and I know l'll never buy Stuart Weitzman shoes again.
