Sorry, Brooks, but I personally do not like the Addiction Walker. I am a huge fan of the Caldera (I wrote an excellent review for the Caldera) but the Addiction Walker sits in my closet. I tried walking in them for two weeks, but the pain I experienced while walking was awful. At the price I paid for them I have to say I am very disappointed and can only wish I had purchased two pair of Caldera 3's and not the Addiction Walker. I can not recommend this shoe.

I was excited to get these shoes based on the reviews, but I was very disappointed when they arrived. Style wise, they look like sneakers. However the material was so hard I had trouble getting them on. Once they were on, they were tight around my toes / knuckles. I have difficult feet to fit due to arthritis and bunion but I was surprised the width of this shoe felt so tight. I was unwilling to keep them and see if they stretched and softened, so back they go.

Honestly, I wanted to like these shoes for travel, but when I took them out of the box they looked like big black tanks in my size. While I do have foot problems I could bring myself to put them on - perhaps chalk that up to more vanity than need to be comfortable.

The pair of shoes I received was "linear platform" which is not the usual "universal platform" I was expecting. This was the wrong type of fit for me. No where in the description did it say this pair of shoes has a "linear platform."

Very disappointed. I had hoped for a supportive comfortable walking shoe. A full size shorter than marked size (12). And a low toe box. I never put the left foot on or even stepped down in it. I tried another style of Brooks which were also a full size too small. So, that experiment has ended. Thanks to Zappos, the search goes on.

Fit and size were excellent BUT these are the noisiest shoes I’ve ever worn. I want to return them. This is my third pair so I was expecting the usual great quality but these are just plain ridiculous. I sound like a herd of horses! Do not buy these shoes until they fix the problem.

The shoes were very stiff. They ran small. I hated the pointed toe. The shoe claims to have arch support, but it does not.

DEFECTIVE: Yet another pair of Brooks Addiction Walkers that are defective. My long-time favorite support shoe for those whose feet pronate! This right tongue in this particular pair is noticeably shorter than the left, there are lumps under the big toe, and the interior platform continues to have irregular side-to-side ripples producing high & low areas that are uncomfortable to walk on. Brooks, all you have to do is get better control of your manufacturing process! You have a great shoe, but not when it is defective.

DEFECTIVE - Interior platform, under insole, extremely lumpy and painful to walk on. This has been a persistent manufacturing defect that Brooks really needs to fix. Otherwise, this style has been my favorite shoe for good support for many years.

What a disappointment these shoes are! I literally spent most of the day looking for new walking shoes; many reviews, websites, etc. I picked Brooks (white not black) because they had really great recommendations from independent sources. I ordered my regular 8W and there is no way these shoes are a D width. I couldn't even get them on and when I did there was a gap between the tongue and the sides when laced. Along with these I ordered a pair of Saucony Progrid Integrity shoes in the same size and they fit fine. So disappointing. I am hoping the Saucony work out and I have found a new walking shoe that will work for serious walking.

These shoes feel like work boots. They are hard & stiff with no support. I was looking for comfort & support for my poor feet.

These shoes have a hard footbed (under insole) and are stiff as a board.

I don’t know how do I feel. Because box write size 8.5 but shoes are 12 in the box.

this review is for black leather Addiction Walker. The shoes are hard, unyielding, and heavy. I buy a new pair of Brooks about 3x a year for about 5-6 years for work, and love them all. These black leather Walkers are exceptionally bad.

Looked great online, but I could barely get my foot in, and I regularly wear a 6 (which I ordered). Very nice looking shoe, but the toe box is more narrow than most Brooks I have.

Bought Brooks because many people recommend them for people with problem feet. For the price I expected more...they seem cheap, stiff and ugly. Not only that, but the fit was awful...pointed toed shoes are not for me. They were also not very comfortable to stand in, not enough cushion underfoot. Will return these and never buy them again.

I wore these shoes for many years. They were the best thing since sliced bread. I walk 5 to 7 miles a day and am on my feet just standing a lot. The last version was not as supportive as earlier ones but still a decent shoe. The current version, in a shoe designed for foot stability, torqued my knee and were unwearable. What happened to stability? What happened to support? What will I wear now? Brooks what have you done?

I am returning this item as "defective merchandise" because the tongue is too short. Normally, this wouldn't bother me except in this case, the tongue was digging into my ankle in a way that was causing my leg to go numb while walking. I walk daily 3.5-7 miles. My leg was actually painful and it took me several trys to figure out what the problem was. Luckily, I had purchased 2 pairs of walking shoes and it was in trading off with the other pair/brand that I was able to figure out why my leg was hurting when I would wear the Brooks. So weird, but true.

These shoes are NOT white - they are a weird off white / yellowish color. They felt comfortable, but were so ugly that I couldn't keep them.

Not a white shoe. It's like a light beige. I found them narrow. They went back.

I have worn Brooks for many years but am very disappointed in the new changes. This is the second pair (two different styles) I have bought that has hurt terribly after the second week. I will no longer be buying Brooks sneakers. Zappos service is great and I will look for other brands on this site.

I thought I would love these shoes but I hated them. First they are not a true white. The sole is white but the shoe is kind of an ecru. There is a distinct difference between the bottom and the rest of the shoe. Second, they are too heavy. I need shoes that I can wear all day when I'm touring and walking in Rome. These will not work. Third, they weren't that comfortable on. Hugely disappointed.

I have to use orthotics, which is why I got these shoes - they had great reviews. However, they don't have enough depth to accommodate the inserts. The length and width of the shoes were fine. I've never had problems with a shoe's height before. Total waste of money for me.

I have a number of foot problems and a bad hip, and hoped this shoe would work given that my chiropractor recommended it. In addition to being unattractive (which I was willing to accept if they were super comfortable), the shoe was heavy and did not bend at all when I walked, creating a flat-footed gait! I'm returning them.

Disappointed. Had bought this shoe before. This time the narrow width was to wide. The shoe had a extreem smell. Months later the shoe still smells. Have tried inserts to get the shoe to fit right.
