I use the Addiction 12 (with my orthotics) non-stop, but I wanted a black shoe for work so my outfits don't look so tacky with my athletic shoes. Wanted it to blend in with my pants/skirts, etc. These black shoes are fine and comfortable to wear, but the first day I wore them, it was raining. To my surprise, I started to slip on the wet sidewalk. I was very perturbed that there was no traction on a surface as ordinary as a wet flat sidewalk. I will have to be very careful in the rain. This shoe is very expensive and I expected better performance. My other Addiction shoes never slip like that.

Sizing is good, fit my feet nicely. I wear 6 1/2 wide. But the shoes don't really have arch support. Not really good fit for people who have problem feet and need good arch support. But really most people don't realize they need to wear shoes that have good arch support to prevent foot problems in the first place.

The shoes are great...I have the white ones already. The only thing I noticed after letting them air out for 2 weeks is that they still have a strong chemical smell to them. I am hoping this goes away.

I am looking for a sturdy, comfortable shoe for heavy-duty sightseeing. These fill the bill. (Note I didn't say I was looking for attractive!)I usually wear an 8M, but need an 8 1/2 W in these. The toe box is not as wide as it needs to be for feet that will swell and sweat with lots of walking. With a pad in the heels to keep them from being too wide, I have found just what I need. Thanks to Zappos return policy and speedy deliveries, I've been able to figure this out.

I just ordered a new pair of these as my "school shoes." I am a teacher, and I wear them almost every day. I switched back to Brooks Addiction after New Balance "improved" the 928's which no longer fit the shape of my feet at all. I have slightly narrow, flat, low volume feet. These fit well with my posted orthotics from The Walking Company. I need shoes that I can wear 12 hours a day, and these meet that requirement. My only complaint is that the fabric around the ankle gets very dirty and frays and tears after a couple months of wear. This is my reason for only 4 stars overall.

Seems to be a good quality shoe, just can't believe that for the price, they skimp on the shoelaces! Had to bypass the last set of holes just to be able to tie them. Stupid./

Love these sneakers. They are so comfortable and my feet feel very well supported. Only very minor issue is that they are the slightest bit hard to get into, as the laces come up quite high, but the effort is worth it because of the comfort and support.

It's not particularly stylish, but I bought it because I needed a walking shoe with high customer ratings. It looks like a nurse's shoe, but it's a good walking shoe (3-4 miles a day). I still had to put extra arches inside the shoe because I have flat feet (no fault of the shoe). It's a lot to pay for a walking shoe, however, and I'll choose one in the $70-80 range next time.

I love the look for my need and the comfort, but they are too narrow for my wide feet and bunions. I ordered a 8W, but need wider. The New Balance 8W was perfect.

I have been buying these shoes for three years now. I bought two pairs to rotate. I got a the other pair as a gift from my girls. I usually buy men's. The first couple of pairs that I bought made my inside arch sore for a few days but have not had that issue with new ones. I still pad any weak spots that I have with jell toe pads that fit over my sock on one foot I have a problem with. I walk a mile to a mile to a mile and a half per day. Just enough for me and my 13 year old pooch. My chiropractor said a year to 18 months is about the life of a pair of walking shoes. I wish that there were more colors like deep blue or green.

I couldn't have asked for a more comfortable fit! Brooks is the best fit for me. And I thought it would look more like a tennis shoe. But when it arrived and I could actually see the shoe "in person" I didn't care for the style.

These didn't have a narrow-enough heel for me. I need a 4A heel width. Had good arch support though!

I bought these based on the many favorable reviews and the fact that I could get a wide size. They are very supportive and lots of cushion. I am having some trouble with the amount of padding around the ankles. I have to tie loosely or the tendons on the top of my foot get stressed, then my feet hurt the next day. I don't like the clunky look, but they serve the purpose of walking comfortably.

I love Zappos service. I gave these shoes a 4 star overall because I did order a wide, which I usually wear for work shoes but still not quite enough room in the toe box. Otherwise, great, comfortable shoes and I am on my feet all day (on cement no less). I'll be ordering another pair.

I love these shoes. My arches are bad and these help them a lot. I wear Good Feet arches inside these when my arches are really bad. They fit perfectly. I just wish they would last longer.

Not as cushioned as a running shoe. Very stable and wide enough for my flat bunioned feet. I took out the removable sock liner and added a good flat cushioned insole. Now these walking shoes are comfortable. I wear them every day so I appreciate the all black color.

I wear an extra wide and this shoe was a perfect fit except for the heel. It was much too wide for my foot and no matter how tightly the shoe was tied, the heel slid a great deal. I had to return these shoes, but I really did not want to.

These shoes was one of the best recommendations my podiatry could have made. I almost wondered why my other podiatrist allowed my feet to suffer so long. The shoes have a thick sole which gives you more height and better grip to the ground. The only problem I have about these shoes, they are not slip resistant. I ordered black because I work in food service and I almost bust my behind when trying to walk on a mopped or wet floor. That was one main reasons I ordered these was for work, since I am on my feet most of the day. As long as the ground is dry you're good, but any water on the floor, or a spill, if not careful you will surely slip and fall. I mean I have to tip toe in order not to fall. If they gave me that same strong grip from dry floor to wet. These shoes would be the perfect shoe for food service!

Has classic look of plain white (leather) sneakers which is hard to find these days. I wear size 7D (wide width) in this style while wear 7.5D (wide width) in another style (Ariel 14), and still have room to put extra orthotic soles in them! Bigger & roomier than its fabric counterpart. Snug tight and keep feet in place when used all 7 eyelets.

Wow, delivery was fast. I agree with others, the shoe is not pretty, makes my feet look big, but then again, my feet are big! I was disappointed in the arch. For the cost of the shoe, and that it was advertised for flat feet, I was hoping for substantial arch support but its pretty average. After wearing for an afternoon I did notice nice support in the heel/ankle area. The size and width runs true. Overall, I would purchase this shoe again.

I really liked these shoes but the wide was just not wide enough for my one damaged foot. I had to get shoes recommended by my podiatrist.

Great customer service. Great shoes, but not really white - more of an off white, a little disappointed with the color.

These bone colored sneakers are ugly, look like Grandma's corrective shoes, but for walking, they are the BEST. They have saved my back!! I would suggest the white though...bone and black look like old people shoes!

Very nice shoes. The only thing I would have liked is more breathability (mesh?) since I have poor circulation in my legs/feet. These shoes will be great for walking and exercising though.

These shoes were the only ones that worked when my stupid bunion decided to flare up. They are amazingly comfortable and quite stable. I find the lacing a bit frustrating, but they stay the way you lace them until you take them off, which is not always the case with shoes anymore. Super comfortable right out of the box, so if you have a stupid bunion, these are the shoes for you.
