I am 68 and I have wide, flat, buniony feet -large bunions. I walk dogs twice a day on hilly, irregular terrain. These shoes had almost no break-in time. They were comfortable right away. They are sturdy shoes and somewhat better looking on the foot than in the Zappos photos. When I can find shoes in wide widths like these, I reduce the length a half size as compared with a conventional B width shoe. This works for me.

Great shoe if you need a Wide or Extra Wide. Not the most stylish but a great fit with a wide toe box. Can also wear with orthotics.

I had tried so many pairs of shoes and all of them in one way or another hurt my feet. These "Brooks Addition Walker" feel so good and so not in any way hurt my feet. The length, the width, the arch support, everything about this shoe is perfect. I am a diabetic, with surgery on both feet but large bunions and I have very flat feet and this shoe fits perfect. Thank you and please keep this shoe at Zappos. Oh, and I've already order this shoe in black and I will order the color Stone very soon. They are worth every penny to me to not have my feet hurting. I am 70 y.o. and still going to work everyday.

This is my second pair of Addiction and the name supports this review. This is the only sneaker type shoe that I have been able to even try on and wear without orthotics and that speaks volumes. They provide support, cushioning above and below and remain well worn friends even a year later. There is enough room to accommodate wayward toes too.

Just received these shoes and love them. I walk briskly for more than an hour each morning. Have worn them two mornings in a row now and they feel wonderful!

I've tested the Addiction Walker for a whole day at the Seattle Art Museum; the next day I trekked around a local park on some semi-muddy trails. As many reviewers before me have said, this is a top notch shoe, especially for the floppy footed. For over pronators like me they are well worth the money. The 12 narrow fits me perfectly with plenty of toe room -- on the brannock measuring tool, I measure an 11.5 narrow. I wish Brooks would venture into the hiking market because women with long narrow feet have practically no options.

I do not even bother looking at shoes anymore. I clicked on chat, told the person what I needed and this is what he suggested. Again these awesome people at Zappos got it right! The first day I wore they were a little off. I knew they would need time to stretch and get comfortable that took a day - probably not even that long because after standing for six hours I was still able to walk. Usually my feet feel so swollen by the end of the day in general that I could not believe how good they felt. By the second day I had no problem whatsoever! They are not all that pretty but I am supposed to wear black shoes so I am good. I can feel the arch support in the right place, no less. In some shoes the arch feels off from where it is supposed to be. I have been home for an hour and I am not rushing to get these shoes off my feet! I love these shoes!

The shoes that are giving me back my life I have had achilles tendonitis for 5+ years. Prior to that (and 80 pounds ago), I was fairly active, but the pain from the tendonitis kept me sidelined. No matter how many brands of shoes I tried, if I walked anything more than 2,000 steps (about a mile) in a day, or if I spent much time standing on a hard surface, the pain was horrible. I took Advil but would wake up crying in the middle of the night with pain shooting up my legs as soon as the meds wore off. Physical therapy helped, but was not a viable long-term option. I even planned vacations with my family around my inability to walk or stand for extended periods. These shoes are changing all that! I have had the shoes for about a month, and have been working to build up my stamina again. I now routinely walk 4 miles a day - yesterday, I logged 11,000 steps mostly on hard surfaces, and had some minor soreness (in my legs, not my feet), but no shooting pain and slept through the night without issues. These shoes are the only thing that have allowed me to do that - I know, because I have tried so many different brands. I love the light weight of these, but it is the thick sole that really saves my legs. I added a set of gel heel cups for extra cushion, but I don't think it would be necessary for most people. I have already ordered a second pair of these, and I wear them every day, even to the office. They may not be the most fashionable thing going, but with the way I can function again, I just don't care! I even loaned a pair to my sister to try as she has the same issues. If you have achilles tendonitis, I highly recommend these shoes! If you are like me, you will have developed compensations in your gait over the years to accomodate the tendonitis. I noticed that, for the first week or so of wearing these shoes, I had some muscular aches in my legs and feet, as my gait was corected. However, that was minor and was just the muscles coming back to life, so to speak. Try these shoes out - what have you got to lose? They may not be cheap, but they have given me my life back, so they are worth every penny!

Love these shoes! I use orthodotics and they fit these shoes perfectly. Currently, I have the Addiction Walker in white, black, and tan. This is also a good looking shoe.

Very comfortable shoes. At last I can walk and exercise free of aches and pains. Good quality. Nice leather. Would be nice if it came in other colors as well. No hassle in ordering and receiving. Great service. Thank you Zappos.

These are not cute but they are the only shoes I have ever tried that don't hurt my weird feet. Worth the money.

Thanks to your great customer service people, I found a replacement for my discontinued favorite walking shoe (811 New Balance). This Brooks Addiction Walker is so great that I ordered a second pair. I have a narrow foot, narrower heels, toes that like to feel free, and feet that like a soft foot bed. Sometimes I use orthopedics. I am very happy with these shoes because they are very comfortable. If only they came in blue. :)

I have always had trouble finding shoes that fit and are comfortable and these are both. I need cushioning because I walk a lot and my feet need to stay comfortable. These are great shoes!

I only know a walking shoe is good when I get home and I'm in no pain. Overpronation and a previous broken ankle have given me a bad knee. These shoes have been everything I need. They are a little more snug than I am used to, but still comfortable and makes me forget about my feet, which is a blessing. The beige is a nice color, too. Can't speak for size, as I always go up a half-size in sneakers and boots. I do a lot of walking in hospitals and nursing home, and these are really good shoes for being on my feet all day.

I have never bought shoes on line before because I didn't know how they would fit or feel. The free shipping both ways took away my concern. The reviews helped me decide if this particular shoe would help my foot pain. I love the shoes and just bought my second pair from Zappos for work. I also like the Zappos family culture.

I have trouble finding shoes that are comfortable and these Brooks Addiction Walker's are just wonderful. I participate in 5K's, wear them to work and everyday. I'm very pleased with them. Also, this is the first order I placed with Zappos. It was easy and they were delivered very quickly. Great service.

No need to break these walking shoes in; they are comfortable right from the start. I have wide feet and these shoes fit perfectly. Soft interior, good looking although a bit clunky, but I have them for comfort, not style!

My feet are about as problematic as they come, major pronating and metal plates, etc. from car accident. I think I have worn nearly every brand of shoe with & w/o orthotics on the market. Just received these today, put them on & they fit like a glove! I read all the reviews & decided to order up a size and was glad I did. I wore them around the house for 3 hrs with no discomfort and the support was absolutely amazing. I personally have never seen a more supportive footbed. If these hold up as I expect they will, I will be back for more! Thank you Zappos... Love your company!

I just love this shoe! This is my favorite shoe. I wear them every day, both in the house and outside. My daily routine requires that I spend a lot of time on my feet plus I do a lot of walking. This is the only all-leather shoe that provides enough support for my feet plus the stability platform keeps my feet pointed straight instead of to the side. This is better for the hips. I had to go up a half size because I wear thick athletic socks and needed the extra toe room. The shoes are made well as I am still wearing a white pair that I bought two years ago. The outside bottom of the shoe has held up well during that time. I also have found that they have helped me with my over-pronating feet. I have less back and hip pain at the end of the day. I just bought the bone color to wear for Spring and Summer. Thank you Zappos for having these shoes available. The customer service is terrific. It is so easy and convenient to be able to order shoes online and have them shipped so quickly. I don't have a lot of time to go shopping so I find this service by Zappos absolutely the best around. I no longer have to wait two weeks or more to get shoes in the mail. I recommend Brooks to anyone looking for a comfortable, sturdy and yes -- I think it is a very stylish tie shoe. You can't beat the fact that you get an all-leather shoe for this price. Other manufacturers are offering shoes made of mostly fabric for the same or more money. I hope that Brooks continues to make these shoes and that Zappos will have them available. It would be nice to see these shoes in a navy blue or even dark brown or cordovan.

These are great! I have very bad bunions and these fit. I purchased the wide and they are wonderful.

This is by far the best shoe on the market for the over-pronator. Solid! Controls that foot like no other. But go up a whole size from what you measure because like all other athletic shoes these days, they run a size small. But if you don't get a year minimum of every day wear you are very hard on shoes. I get 2 years and then I take my old ones and use them for yard work shoes for 2 more years. It's a steal at this price. Quality Plus! Brooks is the best!

It took me a couple of weeks to break these shoes in, but now they are great. The fit is good, they are light weight and fit in with my casual clothes. I have bad toes and the toes box is roomy, no pain. The heel fits tightly. I am super satisfied.

These shoes fit great, nice & wide across the toes, good arch support. Felt good right away working 12 hour shifts!

Fit like a glove, true to sizing, put on went to work as a nurse 10 hours shift, no soreness at all, so no breaking these in. Comfy and very supportive. I really like them and will buy them again.
