The shoe and everything about Zappos is 5 star. I even appreciated the humor in the confirmation and instruction notices.

I am a retail manager and I'm on my feet 90% of the time. I've had severe foot pain in the past so I really need something comfy that I can walk in all day and this shoe exceeded every expectation I had. I have them in black and they last a long time. They do not look worn out after many months of wear and my feet are rarely fatigued and they never hurt. I also wear these on my days off when I do lots of walking. They may not be the most glamorous shoes but they are well worth it in every way. While my colleagues complain they're feet are killing them mid day, I can keep going with a smile.

These are great shoes! I ordered them for my recent Vegas trip. There was absolutely no break in time; I just put them on and walked the strip. My feet always feel great in Brooks shoes and the Addition Walker exceeded my expectations.

I am very pleased with the Addition Walker. It fit perfectly (8.5 W) and has great support. I am able to walk a further distance without tiring.

I love my Brooks Addiction Walkers. They are very comfortable and sturdy. Best shoe I've had in a long time. Zappos sent me the wrong brand on first try, but made it good on the second.

This is a wonderful shoe! It feels perfect as soon as you put it on (there is absolutely no breaking-in period)! My orthotist explained how, unlike other shoes that use the same material for the entire sole, this shoe uses several different types of cushioning foam with different densities so that the areas that need to provide more support do that, while other areas have less. And you get more support and stability with the shoe base being wider through the arch area. It's exactly what I need. I will be ordering a pair in black to wear with darker-colored pants at work. I'll probably never wear any other brand of walking shoe other than my Addictions. They are that good! And, yes, they are a bit pricier than others like New Balance or Nike, but if they last longer, it will be so totally worth it! (I've only had them on my feet for about a month now.)

At 50+ years old, this is the first pair of real shoes I have purchased for walking. Years of flip flops and Keds took a toll; so now I must wear good shoes all the time. These are great! Wish I would have started in these years ago; great support, cushion, runs true to size, and my feet don't hurt! Spend the extra money and get the good for you shoes. They work!

These sneakers are great. My only complaint is that they look somewhat bulky and like something an older women would wear. But I needed comfort more than style for my trip to California. These shoes took me all over San Francisco and up Mt Shasta for a 3 hour hike. They took me the distance and I wasn't in extreme pain that night. I have pretty bad bunions, so it's great for that. Now I wear them to work and I have virtually no pain when I get home. I refer to them as my magic shoes. Definitely rebuying these.

The shoes work out great. They are not as comfortable as the mesh Brooks Addictions, but they are nicer looking for a dressier look.

After reading the other reviews I decided to buy these. These are the most comfortable shoes. After some foot issues, I now have to wear custom orthotics. I am on my feet all day and after wearing these my feet do not hurt much anymore. I think they are wonderful!

I need good metatarsal support and a wide width. I had been wearing New Balance 845 and successor shoes, but the fit/last kept changing. I find this shoe wonderful: it gives me the support I need, actually feels lighter than the New Balance, and is much better looking.

I've happily used these same great shoes for years. Excellent shoes for me (who has poor balance). I use my own inserts for arch support.

I order these for my mom about once a year. She's had diabetes and they are the only shoes that don't hurt her feet. She loves them!

I am so excited about these shoes and about Zappos in general. I wear size five wide and I've always found it hard to find shoes that fit me. This is the second pair of the Addiction walker I've bought and I couldn't be happier. I live in an urban area and walk a mile a day. I also am on my feet a lot at work, usually on concrete. The Brooks Addiction forms to my feet and keeps up with me.

Love these shoes. Only athletic/walking shoe I would buy. Extremely comfortable and well made. Brooks is the only brand I have found that fits perfectly my size 5.5 narrow foot. Thank you Brooks and thank Zappos for carrying them!

I love these. I speed walk every night 3 to 5 miles on a treadmill. I have to say these are not the most stylish shoes I own but man do they work! No more heel pain, awesome arch support. I have different outside running shoes but these are my walking shoes.

These are the ultimate shoes I've been searching for! Nice wide toe box, nicely padded under the foot, great support...and plain black! Not "stylish" or "stand out"! No odd neon colors, no reflective strips, no nonsense! A perfect, comfortable shoe that I can wear to work or anywhere. I'm buying some to keep on hand! I only wish Brooks would make more styles, such as boots & sandals!

Best walking and working shoe, not the best looking but your feet and body will thank you for it. I highly recommend them. Make yourself a favor: buy them.

I am 68 and I have wide, flat, buniony feet -large bunions. I walk dogs twice a day on hilly, irregular terrain. These shoes had almost no break-in time. They were comfortable right away. They are sturdy shoes and somewhat better looking on the foot than in the Zappos photos. When I can find shoes in wide widths like these, I reduce the length a half size as compared with a conventional B width shoe. This works for me.

Great shoe if you need a Wide or Extra Wide. Not the most stylish but a great fit with a wide toe box. Can also wear with orthotics.

I had tried so many pairs of shoes and all of them in one way or another hurt my feet. These "Brooks Addition Walker" feel so good and so not in any way hurt my feet. The length, the width, the arch support, everything about this shoe is perfect. I am a diabetic, with surgery on both feet but large bunions and I have very flat feet and this shoe fits perfect. Thank you and please keep this shoe at Zappos. Oh, and I've already order this shoe in black and I will order the color Stone very soon. They are worth every penny to me to not have my feet hurting. I am 70 y.o. and still going to work everyday.

This is my second pair of Addiction and the name supports this review. This is the only sneaker type shoe that I have been able to even try on and wear without orthotics and that speaks volumes. They provide support, cushioning above and below and remain well worn friends even a year later. There is enough room to accommodate wayward toes too.

Just received these shoes and love them. I walk briskly for more than an hour each morning. Have worn them two mornings in a row now and they feel wonderful!

I've tested the Addiction Walker for a whole day at the Seattle Art Museum; the next day I trekked around a local park on some semi-muddy trails. As many reviewers before me have said, this is a top notch shoe, especially for the floppy footed. For over pronators like me they are well worth the money. The 12 narrow fits me perfectly with plenty of toe room -- on the brannock measuring tool, I measure an 11.5 narrow. I wish Brooks would venture into the hiking market because women with long narrow feet have practically no options.
